1x1 Kim and Shade RP (+Hush)

Shade frowned in thought as she relayed her explanation. Though then Hush appeared and Shade straightened as he regarded him. “Morning bud. Want some breakfast? What do you want?” He asked easily and turned to the cupboards, holding up a finger at Kim in the sign to hold on a second. “Just cereal?” Shade asked though he wished Hush could maybe eat something a little better and nicer but the boy nodded, he seemed to want that. He handed Hush the cereal box and a bowl and the milk and nodded encouragingly for him to take it to the makeshift table near the sofa himself before he turned back to Kim, talking in a hushed voice, pub completely intended. “Do you mean this person you know, they’ll be able to get it done instantly? Whereas the proper way would take years?” He asked since he was truly a little confused but wondered if that was what she meant. Then he gave a little shrug. “I could just... lie low. I’ve already been here for 4 years clearly they’re not going to find me unless ideas attention to myself, I don’t plan to get in trouble with the law now after all.” Shade said with a grin. But then he realised something and his face went slack. “Wait... Getting back home... Not only is it going to take years for me to be able to afford a plane to get there but are they going to even let me go.” Then he waved his hands and shook his head. “Hold on, the court case. What about that? Can’t they... do something about it? If I tell how all of this has happened...” That was why he was doing the voice recording after all wasn’t it? Good lord he was starting to get overwhelmed... Shade leaned his elbows on the bench and dragged his hands through his hair anxiously.

She wasn’t always 100% right of course, but it was scary how many time she was pretty spot on to the point where she would startle people, that she wasn’t a counselor or psychologist of some sort. With the knowledge she had just from observations. “ yes and no…“ When he seemed overwhelmed despite her self and what her former warnings were she went to lay hand on his shoulder. A simile he would react negatively in which she would draw back in frown apologetically but if he didn’t react negatively she would still continue on either way.
“ they will send you home, but the case can go very slow or very fast it depends. However you would have to actually show yourself in person the recordings would be good for the records but then you would be expected to speak at the trials. Not to mention the fact that... Hush, well it depends on where his family is. These people are connected as you say it could take years and intensify danger for both of you. People like to make key witnesses vanish, and since you’re a particular value to them…“ She was not happy to be saying any of this in fact it left a bad taste in her mouth.
“It’s increasingly dangerous and if they decide to bring out some of your criminal activity even the small I can open all sorts of backlash on you and him. Unfortunately the legal system is still quite broken. It’s meant to help but there’s so many loopholes that the villains can manipulate it actually caused the good people pain and suffering. There’s risks with any action we take. I just know that deep down I have a bad feeling about you showing yourself. Very bad feeling, and… As weird as it may sound I always trust my feelings, intuitions and stinks… Whatever you wanna call them it was protected me the most of my life. Why I was able to always find good hiding spots…“ She didn’t go into detail about that specially since Hush was in the room.
“And that’s why I let you to into this house, because the matter how scary or uncertain I am about a feeling I have when it’s that strong instinct I listen. And everything with and we told me I could trust you too, even though it was scary.“ She hoped he didn’t make her sound less than generous. The fact was though they were bad people in the world and she can just open her home to every single person she met she honestly had wanted to help from the get go, but it was that feeling that strong feeling that Wouldn’t let her walk away.
“A month? Like with the guy you now doing it?” Shade asked. He pursed his lips as she explained about how people didn’t much care when you lived on the streets but now they might grow suspicious of him anyway just coming and going from the building and he gave a sigh. When she touched his shoulder, Shade unfortunately did indeed flinch a little, since he hadn’t expected it and his muscles bunched, but seemingly after a moment when he realised it was only Kim his hackles fell slightly.
He perked up when they said they’d send him home but that quickly faded as she went through the problems, like how the case could go slow. And of course he cringed at the idea of speaking at the trials, immediately shaking his head. “I don’t want them seeing me speak... I mean, they’ll probably know it’s me anyway but... surely at least it’ll be somewhat safer.” He flicked his glance up at her. “As long as it’s enough to take them down...” he then frowned a little in confusion. “Criminal activity? What do you mean? My... little bouts of stealing? They wouldn’t know about that.” He nodded in agreement with her though about having a bad feeling about him showing himself. “Isn’t there some sort of process to protect witnesses who might be in danger? Like, I wouldn’t have to speak at the trials, but they would know who I am... Or... I’d just reveal myself to them after the trial...?”

She wasn’t trying to be grim but the fact was it was all a very precarious situation. “I won’t know anything for certain until I go and find the officers handling this case and speak to them let them know I’m willing to testify and, hopefully I can find some good people there if not only crime they can go away for his attempted kidnapping and aggressive assault. Which sadly they might be able to buy their way out of. Nothing as severe as the crime you have told me about…”
Shade indeed blanched a little at her comment about witnesses at her comments about witnesses. He cleared his throat to try and regain himself, frowning as she said that perhaps the only crime they would be trialled for was attempted kidnapping and assault. “Then what am I doing these voice recordings for? I thought we were still trying to get them for that either way! And can’t they send people to the brothel? Officers? If I tell you where it is?!” He needed to take these people down! Otherwise he and Hush would be in permanent danger, and maybe Kim too. If they did anything to Brom it was guaranteed. They needed to either give this their all or run away completely.

Shade sagged, seeing that determination in her eyes. He could only hope she knew what she was doing, at least somewhat... Though he cringed a little as she mentioned posting it on the internet. “Maybe... not posting it on the internet don’t think we need to go that far...” he said quietly before signing and looking to her. “But thank you...”

Shade looked up at her. “Do you want me to come with you? I don’t have to talk to them I could just... be there.” But he had to admit he wasn’t exactly a fan of the prospect of going to the police station. And what if Brom somehow saw him...? “Uh, actually maybe never mind...” he cleared his throat. “Do you want me to head to the library? I could find some of those sign language books for Hush... oh... wait they won’t let me borrow them if I don’t have anything on me will they...?” He sighed.

Shade sighed but then he indeed lightened up as she revealed she’d gotten some of the sign language books. He smiled as he took them from her. “Oh wow, great. Yeah good idea.” He said in a slightly forced cheerful tone, but his gratitude to her was still clear. He looked to Hush and held the books up. “Look Hush, we can he stared on that side language.”
The boy parked his head up in interest and Shade turned back to Kim and nodded.
“We’ll do that. And thanks. Though you can probably just come back and tell me. Don’t want to risk anyone hearing you on a public phone.” After all he would have her mobile. “Are you only going to the police station?”

Shade nodded as she indeed said she was just going there and that she shouldn’t be too long. “Let’s hope they don’t make you wait.” He commented lightly. “And it’s a pleasure, really.” He added as she thanked him for having breakfast with her, smiling at her. “Bye.” He called as she headed for the door. Hush indeed looked up as Kim went to leave and so when she waved at him with that kind smile and miraculously he seemed to smile ever so slightly and even waved back hesitantly. Shade brought the books over to the couch and to Hush and sat beside the boy. “Finish your breakfast and then we can maybe get started Yeah bud?” Hush looked over interestedly and quickly wolfed down the last of his cereal.

Kim couldn’t have got rid of her smile had she tried, Hush warming up to her made her feel so free and happy. She even had more of a bounce in her step as she made her way to the police station. When she arrived she didn’t have to wait long, possibly because she was a pretty blond haired blue eyes female. Might as well have some benefits she supposed. Even better she wasn’t just give the brush off, she asked to speak with a detective, and though he let her know he was busy, he sat down and listened. She told him all she knew off hand, and said she was getting recorded testimony of the men, what they had done how evil they actually were. That the witness if he/she cane forward would be targeted, and wants us to handle the case with out needing protective custody. There are ‘extenuating circumstances’
This part took the longest, but with her passionate words and willingness to testify to all she had been told, to what she herself had heard them say, what they did and with the Detective doing some digging, he was willing to do whatever it took to shut down such a horrible thing. He gave her his card, and said to call if anything happened, if she any new information. Email him the testimonials. Keep the originals safe. She also knowing the law, being a former officer could speak to him on another level which made things even more smooth. She made sure he had her cell and work address. Reluctant to have him know where she lived in any legal documents. She made it sound like she might be homeless. Which got him to ease up a bit.
Thank God... She exhaled as he agreed to insist there be no bail, as they were a flight risk. He had a judge who was a friend so they had a good chance at actually bring justice to these people. He gave her water and a snack since she ended up talking to him for 3 hours, all of which was recorded. Then at last she left. Though he asked that I tell the ‘witness’ that protection is still the best option. She nodded and agreed to tell him. Relieved to breathe fresh air once she stepped outside the station. She felt so tired, and totally lost track of time. Stretching her legs she started down the street. The sun was high “oh man... what time is it?” She reached for her phone, but frowned. Right, left it with Shade. She shrugged. “Oh well, can’t be helped. She continued the walk home. She had won a big battle today, and the wheels would turn much faster now!
Shade and Hush started to go through the book on sign language trying to teach it themselves and reach other though it was quite a bit more complicated then Shade had expected but thankfully Hush seemed to be getting it down. But even though he was the one who would really have to use it Shade wanted to get the hang of it too because he needed it to understand Hush after all, often he did understand the boy anyway he supposed but he wanted to be able to gave a good actual conversation. But within a couple of hours his head was spinning and even Hush looked a little fatigued so he shut the book. “Lets take a break. Heavy stuff after all. Didn’t think it would be so tricky huh buddy?” Shade said amusedly. He got up and had a stretch and he saw Hush do a bit of the same, rolling his neck and shoulders. Shade smiled to himself. The boy seemed to always be sitting in a huddled position or always trying to take up the least space possible so it was good to see him seemingly more comfortable. He glanced out the window, then stopped as he saw something.
It seemed to be some sort of organised government pick up day, where people who wanted to get rid of large stuff that would otherwise have to be taken to the dump, they were allowed to put it in the street for a truck to pick up. Piles of junk had been dumped on the kerb, some people still taking stuff to add. It was then that Shade saw something. “Hey...” He headed for the door but not before casting a look at Hush. “Stay here Hush I’ll be right back.” Hush looked a little puzzled but Shade just ducked out the door. He hurried outside to the street, glancing about warily before approaching the people still periodically adding stuff to their particular pile, which was where he’d spotted something of interest. He addressed them, apologising for bothering them and then asked if since they’re throwing it away could he maybe have the thing he desired? To his relief the man was friendly and basically said of course he could otherwise it was just going in the garbage anyway. Shade thanked them three times as he picked up the item and then spun around and returned to the apartment. As he entered back through the door he grinned and held up the guitar for Hush to see. “Check it out Hush. Not that old either. Even has all its strings.” Hush looked surprised and then studied the guitar as Shade brought it over. It was a plain tan brown acoustic guitar, it was scratched up a teensy bit but nothing that looked too terrible, an like he’d said, it had all its strings and they all seemed strong. Shade went and grabbed a cloth from the sink, wetting it but making sure to ring it out well because it should only be slightly damp. He started to clean up the guitar a little bit since it was a bit dusty and dirty while Hush watched him curiously, and if nothing delayed Kim’s return to home she would arrive to see that that was what he was doing.

Kim at last reached her street and I was surprise it seemed as if the whole sidewalk was lined with all sorts of garbage. She was perplexed and confused the most of it was genuinely trash nothing she didn’t see could really be salvaged. Though she did stop as right before she went in she spotted a woman coming out and dropping off a box of kitchen items plates Bowls cups spoons. Pots and pan’s they were mixtures of sets either the rest of the set up and broken lost damaged and more than likely the owner bought a new set on the woman Van Ness she hurried over there and picked up the box made sure there was nothing disgusting in there and then hurried inside. One treasure. Talk about good timing!
She arrived at her door unlocking it and stepping inside. “I’m back.” She said with a smile holding the box carefully as She used her foot to close the door behind her but she froze it what she saw sticking up, the neck of the guitar? She of course had seen guitarist plenty of times I wasn’t like she can assist only played one but she smiled. “Was that out there?” Her eyes sparkled, and instrument was something very precious indeed, they were far from cheap!
Shade looked up as she stepped inside, smiling as he saw she was carrying something too. Then she seemed to notice the guitar he was polishing. He smiled wider. “Yeah! I saw it and thought why in the world waste a perfectly fine guitar so I asked if I could have it they were glad to hand it over. You doing something too did you?” He asked with a chuckle as he eyed the box she was holding.

“Oh yeah, it was a box of dishes when I was about to go and I saw a woman put them out that has pots and pans silverware, It be nice not to have to wash the dishes after every single meal. There’s quite a bit here.” She didn’t care that none of it matched!
Shade nodded in agreement at her response. He’d all but finished dusting off the guitar and set to finishing off by gently wiping the neck and the strings. He looked at her as she explained what she’d found and grinned along with her as she said it’d be nice not to wash the dishes and all. “Nice.” But then he quickly remembered the reason she’d been gone of course. “So... how’d it go at the station?” He was a little reluctant to ask so quickly but then he wanted to know...

“It went really good actually, I met a very nice detective who is very open and passionate I talked with him a lot actually. It was kind of ironic he said he was busy and then he spent over three hours with me and made steps to push the case ahead and anyway he could. Even as a judge friend who’s going to help get warrants and stuff.”
Shade perked right up and looked very pleasantly surprised at her answer. “Really? Wow that sounds great! I didn’t expect... them to be so helpful...” He said and then kind of ducked his head embarrassedly he knew that was probably wrong to think but he couldn’t help it. He looked back up at Kim. “Thank you.” He said firmly. “So what are they going to do next? Do I... need to see this detective at all?” Maybe since he apparently seemed nice Kim would suggest he did talk to him now...

Shade’s has tightened a little as she mentioned how the detective wanted to meet him but he seemed to relax a little to more so just wary reluctance when Kim claimed he was nice enough and talked of a neutral area. Hopefully the detective wouldn’t worry about everything about him not having ID on him... “How much did you... tell him about everything?” He asked Kim as he looked back up.

((I can’t wait to continue this :-) good night sweet dreams when you do (-; ))
Shade pursed his lips a little bit nodded. Of course she had to, he understood that. And he realised he really hadn’t told her, all that much... He’d told it in the voice recording... “I guess I should finish the voice recording then and maybe I can just show him that. It’ll be easier instead of... telling him.” He said hesitantly. But it was clear he was obviously agreeing to go and talk to the detective. He looked up gratefully as she said she hadn’t mentioned Hush. “Good. Thank you.” He frowned. “I think I will mention him at least though... not by name or anything, but the fact that they abducted a 14 year old boy and...” he broke off with a dark scowl, lips curling into a snarl and he exhaled angrily.
((Thank you! Hope you had sweet dreams when you see this! XD
Also hehe looked like you were getting a bit tired there merging a few words together XD))

((Haha! Yeah looks like it! XD yesterday was tough!))
Shade listened to what she said and gave a nod. He felt a little self-conscious at having someone especially a stranger hear the things he spoke of in the voice memos but he knew it had to be done... “Alright.” He murmured, taking a deep breath. As Kim took care of that, He looked back to Hush and headed over to him, thinking maybe he could concentrate on resuming the sign language with Hush. “Any luck buddy?”
Hush looked up at him and then nodded. Setting the book down, he then proceeded to sign something. Shade frowned and tilted his head then grabbed for the book. “Hold on let me translate.” He said with an amused smile. He nodded to Hush. “Do the first sign.”

((Do you mind getting Kim to go to the grocery store or something, I have a little idea I want to do ;) ))
Shade slowly translated Hush’s signs and then he sagged a little, looking at the boy somewhat sadly. “I want to find my mother...?”
Hush pursed his lips and nodded slowly.
Shade felt a pang in his chest. He rested his hand on Hush’s back, rubbing it comfortably. “Don’t worry buddy. We’ll get through this, I’ll help you find her. And we’ll both get home.” He said firmly with a nod.

((No problem :-) can’t wait to see ;-) LOL))
Shade looked up in surprise. “Oh...Kay where are you going?” He asked a little bewilderedly. “Can I ask what...? Or if not, how long you will be?” He didn’t know why but he just felt like he wanted to know where she was going, not for any bad reason, but just in case.

Shade hummed. So she was going to the shop, spending money. Again he really wished he could help in some way, rather than just sitting around here. He gave a nod to Kim. “Okay,” He then wasn’t sure what to say... ‘good luck’ or ‘be safe’ seemed a bit much if she was just going down the block, and he didn’t want to exactly tell her to ‘hurry back’ or something. “Uh... have fun.” He winced afterward.

Shade watched Kim leave and then sighed. Even if she was just getting groceries or something he felt bad he couldn’t contribute in some way, he hated feeling useless. He ran a hand through his hair, then glanced at the guitar and his actions slowed as he frowned slightly in thought. Then his eyes drifted over to one of the pots Kim had brought in. “Hmm...” Shade moved, going to grab the guitar and then the pot. “Keep working on your stuff Hush.” He told the boy. “Stay here alright bud?” He then headed through the door after Kim but he wasn’t following her. He made his way out to the street.
Hush stared at the door where Shade had left through a little bewilderedly, then shrugged to himself and went back to studying the book on sign language.

Can walk to the store up and down every aisle at least twice. She had made notes on her phone of possible gifts the prices making sure she could afford them of course and then also thinking if they would really like them. Her knowledge of both of them was pretty limited but she hoped if they didn’t like the gifts they would at least appreciate the gesture and then they can take the receipt and return them and maybe exchange them for something they would like.
And though she should’ve spent the money it was on sale and it was perfect. It was a small handheld video game nothing super expensive and fancy but it had three main functions. Reading digital books, which she bought one that had 100 classic books on them. Doing studying like school subjects typically geared for more elementary grade but it came with built-in math English and history sort of things and then playing with a few video games were made for the consul and she got a few sort of puzzle mystery games thinking he might like to try and solve the puzzles and mystery’s hopefully she was right.
But then it was back to the person she was having the hardest time picking for. Shade. However lightning struck her she pulled out her phone and began googling. Before long she had two gifts for him. One a book of Argentina and the landscape, pictures of the country, culture, and more. And after a lot of searching she managed to piece together the clothing she needed to make a traditional Gaucho. She bought the sewing materials and knew she would need to finish it before getting home. Should’ve spent quite a bit of time here but thankfully she was good at sewing and with the fabrics and materials she picked not to mention the fact that she stopped by the diner and they let her use the back room she said was working on that outfit. Even a couple of the workers helped her which made it go even faster.
Then she was done and about to head home. She really hopped they liked their gifts.
((The outfit. https://binged.it/2N9lOrd hat, pants top, all))
((Hehe! XD Shade’s gonna sing a little song for Kim XD
Also oh my gosh the outfit haha! ))
Shade made sure not to go too far from the apartment he eventually took up a spot in the Main Street with the diner Kim worked at the and the McDonald’s and all. He dragged over a chair from another nearby takeaway restaurant, hoping they didn’t mind - for he didn’t have a strap for the guitar after all and he didn’t want to accidentally drop it Besides it would be easier to sit down. He set the pot on the ground nearby before glancing about nervously. He didn’t know if this was such a good idea... But he wanted to try it and see if he could find some way to help get some money in for Kim, with all she was doing to help them and then having to spend her money on them being extra mouths to feed as well! Sure she got a fair bit of free food from work but still. He had of course, seen and heard many people in the art of busking, especially back in Argentina. He and his friends had always made sure to drop a few coins into the performer’s container. His mother and many others had told him he was good at singing back at home, but he’d never much believed them... It was just a casual thing he found mild enjoyment in. Let’s see how this goes I suppose... He sucked in a breath and started.
He sang a few easy, upbeat songs to start up with, getting people’s attention with the cheerful tunes of the guitar and the light tone of his voice. Though another thing, he actually had no idea how to play the guitar. He hadn’t even tuned it. But he was only playing it minimally, kind of just to get at least a faint background to his vocals. Shade didn’t dare to look up at the people passing by but pretended to try and concentrate on the guitar, moving his fingers along the strings of the neck as if he was playing chords. If a real player passed they’d probably easily tell he wasn’t properly playing. But unbeknownst to him, the sound of his voice made up for it. He didn’t know it but he truly had a really nice singing voice. So much so that many people stopped to watch and listen admirably at least for a little bit before walking on. Even without a microphone his voice carried nicely throughout the street, not as easy to hear over the hustle and bustle of course but many people quieter as they neared. Not taking too much notice of Shade to become suspicious but smiling and merely enjoying what they saw as a simple busker singing in their midst.

((Hehe! I knew it! Love it! ^_^ let me know if this post is OK))
((Perfect! XD))
Shade eventually started to feel more comfortable as time went on, switching from one song to another. When he finished the song he was currently on, a sudden urge overtook him to play a particular song... He hesitated a moment, then just decide to go with it. For all the talk of this case with the detective, Kim wanting to help him, the talk about his home, it made him think of his family. But perhaps the song was as much for someone else as it was for them, the person who was doing so much to help him. Even if he didn’t quite know it in his own consciousness. And so Shade started to sing...
There's gotta be another way out
I've been stuck in a cage with my doubt
I've tried forever getting out on my own
But every time I do this my way
I get caught in the lies of the enemy
I lay my troubles down
I’m ready for you now
Bring me out
Come and find me in the dark now
Everyday by myself I'm breaking down
I don't wanna fight alone anymore
Bring me out
From the prison of my own pride
My God I need a hope I can't deny
In the end I'm realizing
I was never meant to fight on my own
Every little thing that I've known
Is every thing I need to let go
You're so much bigger than the world I have made
So I surrender my soul
I'm reaching out for your hope
I lay my weapons down
I'm ready for you now
Bring me out
Come and find me in the dark now
Everyday by myself I'm breaking down
I don't wanna fight alone anymore
Bring me out
From the prison of my own pride
My God I need a hope I can't deny
In the end I'm realizing
I was never meant to fight on my own
I don't wanna be incomplete
I remember what you said to me
I don't have to fight alone...
Bring me out
Come and find me in the dark now
Everyday by myself I'm breaking down
I don't wanna fight alone anymore
Bring me out
From the prison of my own pride
My God I need a hope I can't deny
In the end I'm realizing
I was never meant to fight on my own

Shade eventually started to feel more comfortable as time went on, switching from one song to another. When he finished the song he was currently on, a sudden urge overtook him to play a particular song... He hesitated a moment, then just decide to go with it. For all the talk of this case with the detective, Kim wanting to help him, the talk about his home, it made him think of his family. But perhaps the song was as much for someone else as it was for them, the person who was doing so much to help him. Even if he didn’t quite know it in his own consciousness. And so Shade started to sing...
There's gotta be another way out
I've been stuck in a cage with my doubt
I've tried forever getting out on my own
But every time I do this my way
I get caught in the lies of the enemy
I lay my troubles down
I’m ready for you now
Bring me out
Come and find me in the dark now
Everyday by myself I'm breaking down
I don't wanna fight alone anymore
Bring me out
From the prison of my own pride
My God I need a hope I can't deny
In the end I'm realizing
I was never meant to fight on my own
Every little thing that I've known
Is every thing I need to let go
You're so much bigger than the world I have made
So I surrender my soul
I'm reaching out for your hope
I lay my weapons down
I'm ready for you now
Bring me out
Come and find me in the dark now
Everyday by myself I'm breaking down
I don't wanna fight alone anymore
Bring me out
From the prison of my own pride
My God I need a hope I can't deny
In the end I'm realizing
I was never meant to fight on my own
I don't wanna be incomplete
I remember what you said to me
I don't have to fight alone...
Bring me out
Come and find me in the dark now
Everyday by myself I'm breaking down
I don't wanna fight alone anymore
Bring me out
From the prison of my own pride
My God I need a hope I can't deny
In the end I'm realizing
I was never meant to fight on my own

Shade still didn’t exactly look up the whole time he was singing, but he seemed to lose himself a little more within this song, his voice went louder, more full of emotion, but still a nice singing voice all the same. He might have caught a glimpse of a certain head of frizzy blonde curls as he sang and that stirred a flutter of panic in his heart, but he recovered and just kept going, deciding, maybe he didn’t really mind if she seen and heard...
((Just have her really be able to see him when he’s singing the song ;) It’s to her XD))

She didn’t worry about being seen she just listened frozen in that moment her eyes burning with the emotions that begin to swell within her and a smile on her lips. He was incredibly talented. And all of a sudden she got an idea. Possibly a brilliant idea if she could get her boss to go for it.
((Oh my gosh!!! That is like my favorite Ashes Remain song!!! ^_^ xD ahhh! I forget you like a lot of music I do too! XD too perfect for this setting!))
((Ah you know it!!! Awesome! XD Yeah I quite like the song it’s great! :D))
When he finished this particular song he was met with some applause and Shade looked up his expression extremely surprised. That was when he really saw Kim watching and the heat of embarrassment flooded him. Even if he couldn’t help an awkward, crooked grin. Okay he definitely couldn’t attempt another song now. Then he watched with astonishment as a few people came right up and dropped some money into the pot he’d set at his side and he saw that there was actually quite a bit in there, not just a meagre amount like he might have expected. Swallowing self-consciously he nodded to the small crowd gathered and set the guitar down so hopefully they’d realise he was done, his eyes darting shyly. Kim would probably find it amusing, he had never seemed so shy at any point before. Though he’d felt safe enough while performing he suddenly didn’t feel so good at the prospect of people watching him and he had the faint urge to run and take cover but he forced himself to stay. As the crowd dispersed a little he finally stood and went to drag the chair back to its spot.

Kim approached him just as Shade finished returning the chair and he jumped a little before just looking at her in surprise. Unbeknownst to him his own face flushed red at her praise. “R-really? You-you think so?” Good lord he was never usually this nervous. He sucked in a breath to try and recover and then smirked and raised a hand to the side of his mouth to whisper to her conspiratorially. “I can’t even actually play I was just strumming the guitar aimlessly.” He snorted.

Shade grinned as she said she didn’t think anyone had noticed. He’d sort of assumed the same but he was glad to hear it from her. He gave a shrug as she suggested he could perhaps learn the basics. “Yeah maybe.” He smiled crookedly. “I think I’m done for now though I have the urge to run and hide. So yeah let’s head back.” He said lightly, hurrying to pick up the pot with his earnings. He then found himself staring in shock at the amount he’d amassed.
Since Hush had slept in a lot later than planned, he finally emerged now, rubbing at his sleepy eyes before glancing about timidly
