Robin Hill (robinhill) | 1528 comments I'll definitely count novellas, but not duplicates. I'm still contemplating DNFs. Usually if I DNF it's right away, but I just did one after 60%! I won't count it toward my GR challenge, but I feel like it should count somewhere!

I probably wont include DNF's...but that's just me. I tend to not DNF very many books (like one a year, so this wouldn't affect me anyway) because I'm very OCD like that, I have to know how they end. *shrug*

Leslie | 2430 comments Robin, I totally hear you! DNFs make me so mad. I always have a lot and it's such a waste! 😡

If I were at 60% and ready to give up, I would super-duper skim to the end and call it "read"! 😉

I plan on doing a few re-reads this year (like your book 1 when 2 is out) and it will be a year since first time I read it....so it's almost like a brand new story! When I re-read, I don't skim, so in my rule book they count for all my challenges! 😁

Like Leslie, I will count novellas too... if I read them. And I will count rereads (in the spaces that require them...I don't normally reread a lot of books... but then again, I reread a bunch of books last year because of my slump and put 3 on my best of the year list...so who knows....haha!)

I made Renee tell me the ending! But truthfully, I doubt this will be an issue. I knew right away it wasn't for me. IDK why I kept going.

I'd definitely count rereads even in non-reread slots. But it's rare that I reread anything other than stuff I do for Emma and the New Camelot Trilogy. I'm soooo rereading that this year!

Until I saw your best of list I hadn't realized you were a re-reader Grey.

I'm normally not! LOL! I had a wicked slump this past year. I needed some Christina Lauren and Rhysand to pull me out. LOL!

See, if I got past 50%, I'd count it on my GR challenge. You put in the time and got it off your GR tbr, it should count!

What do you mean? Are we doing a new page every month? I was linking the books I'd completed but I probably shouldn't if that's the case.

message 75: by Leslie (new)

Leslie | 2430 comments Is there a way we can one thread for the year? Copying and pasting lists each month sounds like more work than just updating original list. Right? 🤔Thats how I've always done yearly challenges in other groups.

Sorry Grey, I dont mean to be a pain. 😒

Grey, as the mod, can you delete entries? If so, maybe going back and deleting the unnecessary entries would clean things up and trim down thread? I don't know...I'm trying to make things easier and I am probably just complicating them. 🤪

I like this idea. I'm fine with moving my post to another thread since all the coding will move with it. But I'd prefer to just have the one thread to deal with after that.

Amy (amy_nm) | 140 comments Hi ladies! ❤️

I haven’t been very active on here (especially since Amazon automatically updates when I start and finish a book) but I’d like to CHANGE that this year!!

So, I’m in on the overachiever level. Not sure if I’ll make it but at least it will help me narrow it down when I’m trying to pick a new book. Last year was a BUST for me reading wise. 🙄

Just so I understand, are you going to start a separate thread where we can update our picks and what we’ve finished, or will we just update our posts here?

Just let me know when you’re ready!

Leslie | 2430 comments Amy (and everybody), what I am doing is making a hard copy list of each book as I read it and what categories it ticks off. That way if my "red cover book" also qualifies for other ones, I can easily switch things around later. 'Cause what if I read another red book this year??? Then my original red book can count for something else. I figure if I dont write everything down as I read it, I will forget details. Like in December will I remember book from January had artist in it? I think not!!!
