Marin (marinbeth) | 187 comments My update:

Pages read up to now: 305

Books completed: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe This could definitely count towards children's books. (My edition also has a blue cover, if we're still missing that one).

message 52: by Beth F (new)

Beth F | 63 comments For #13, I read these 3 children's/picture books today -

Ivy and Bean by Annie Barrows (120 pages)
Duck on a Tractor by David Shannon (40 pages)
The Polar Express by Chris Van Allsburg (32 pages)

These add an additional 192 pages to my count (362 total)

message 53: by Sabrina (new)

Sabrina | 393 comments I've made the updates, as well as for page/book counts. Please check my work though!

As for me, today I finished half blood prince and sadie, and got through the first 175 pages of Deathly hallows. Tomorrow, I should get through a good chunk more of deathly hallows, and I'll start my audio of What If It's Us. As of now, my page count is at 722 pages + 8 audio hours.

Keep me updated and happy reading :)

message 54: by Shannon (new)

Shannon Rayner (paperbackshay) | 14 comments I finished 210 pages today, will finish More Happy Than Not tomorrow, and then I can start My New Crush Gave to Me I also hope to get some picture books in tomorrow.

message 55: by Jody (new)

Jody (jodybell) | 3477 comments I just finished Jurassic Park - I can't see the spreadsheet yet, so I'm not sure if it's still available, but it would fit #23.

You can also add 316 pages to our count for me!

The board has been updated :)

I also linked the spreadsheet in the first post but I'm not sure if the link is right since I don't have access. It may be a link to the access denied page. Just let me know and I can update if needed.

message 57: by Brittany (new)

Brittany Morrison | 478 comments I started Open Mic: Riffs on Life Between Cultures in Ten Voices last night at work which we can use for s-n-o-w in the title of no one else gets that done first.

I also listened to an hour of the audiobook for American Panda and read The Lump of Coal which is a children’s book (46 pages).

I'm about 280 pages into it so only a couple bad things have happened so far and there's so much worse to come.

I made more updates, we are very close to the first page goal and the kids book goal.

Again, please check my work especially on the individual page counts haha.

message 61: by Brittany (last edited Dec 24, 2018 07:48PM) (new)

Brittany Morrison | 478 comments I read The Abominable Snowman: A Short Story from Dragons at Crumbling Castle while I was sitting around at work so we could get the 10th children’s book out of the way. It was 35 pages.

message 62: by Shannon (last edited Dec 24, 2018 08:14PM) (new)

Shannon Rayner (paperbackshay) | 14 comments I read More Happy Than Not which adds 35 more pages and can be counted towards number 5, a reject prompt: a book about memory.
I also read How the Grinch Stole Christmas! which is a picture book if we still need them and is 60 pages.
I also started My New Crush Gave to Me and read 17 pages of that, so my total page count is 322 I believe

message 63: by Kathy Jo (new)

Kathy Jo (kjsotr) | 304 comments I just finished The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency (No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency #01) by Alexander McCall Smith

I counts as an ATY book,

Library, foreign country, new author. Looks like we gave those already, so maybe just book and pages?

254 previously + 235= 489 total pages

Merry Christmas everyone!

message 64: by Sabrina (new)

Sabrina | 393 comments I've made today's updates! We just reached our first page goal for box #1. The only "category" boxes we have left are #8, 10, and 11, and #5 is waiting for approval.

Definitely check my work tonight for pages and number of books cuz ya girl is tired.

As for me I am tearing through Deathly Hallows, I got through 394 pages today. And I also listened to about 4 hours of What if it's us while wrapping presents.

Tomorrow, I should be able to finish Deathly Hallows and get through a good chunk more of what if it's us. It'll be tough to get the time in because my family hosts christmas dinner so I have to help with food and cleaning. Might honestly get up early to read if I can manage it lol.

Merry Christmas everyone! The board has been updated :)

message 66: by Johanne (new)

Johanne *the biblionaut* | 1668 comments Merry Christmas/ glædelig jul to everyone whether you celebrate or not. We had a wonderful celebration last night (in Denmark we celebrate on Christmas Eve). Currently the family of ca 20 are eating Christmas cookies, watching Harry Potter 2, playing with the little ones, reading, talking, all at once. I love it. Will update page count at the end of the day.

message 67: by Joanne (new)

Joanne | 477 comments Merry Christmas everyone. My family also celebrated on Christmas eve so now today I can look forward to a relaxing day at home with my husband and pets.

message 68: by Tracy (new)

Tracy (tracyisreading) | 2573 comments Merry Christmas!!! 🎄

Enjoying my graphic novel and some coffee while Im waiting for my girls to come home.

Hope everyone has a great day!

message 69: by Jody (new)

Jody (jodybell) | 3477 comments Merry Christmas, everyone! Frohe Weihnacht! Glædelig jul, Johanne!

We've had a chilled out day - we had a Christmas Eve party with friends last night (we are all expats, so it was really lovely to celebrate together), and then this morning we had to wake the Spider up at 10:30 because we were starving and couldn't wait any longer for breakfast and presents. 😂

I got The Little Book of Hygge: The Danish Way to Live Well for Christmas, which I've already started reading, and I already want to start lighting candles and snuggling up under a comfy blanket.

I'll update my page tally later on this evening ... I'm too distracted by the smell of the duck roasting in the oven to concentrate. 😍

message 70: by Marin (new)

Marin (marinbeth) | 187 comments Merry Christmas! My reading plan got away from me a little because of holiday stuff, so hopefully I'll be able to get back on track tonight.

Pages read since my last update: 126 (total up to now is 431)

Books finished: Christmas Days: 12 Stories and 12 Feasts for 12 Days
This is for the ATY challenge as well (50. A book with a warm atmosphere).

message 71: by Jody (new)

Jody (jodybell) | 3477 comments I just finished The Restaurant at the End of the Universe, but I don't think it can count for any of the available tasks. That puts me at four books completed though - halfway to my contribution for finished books. Yay.

You can also add another 258 pages for me to the tally.

message 72: by Kathy Jo (new)

Kathy Jo (kjsotr) | 304 comments Add 3 hours of audio book for me- A Long Walk for Water, Linda Sue Park

Currently reading Wide Sargasso Sea- I will update page count when I finish.

message 73: by Brittany (new)

Brittany Morrison | 478 comments I finished Open Mic: Riffs on Life Between Cultures in Ten Voices which should work for task #12. It was 144 pages.

message 74: by Sabrina (new)

Sabrina | 393 comments Hey guys I’ll update the spreadsheet in the morning I am very tired and didn’t get any reading done unfortunately. I honestly don’t know when I thought I could do that there’s no time to do anything on Christmas at our house.
It was great though! Got some books that are on my 2019 list and a new kindle fire. Also these amaaaazing doc marten platforms (mom got a helluva discount.)

I hope you guys had good holidays. I’ll be back at it tomorrow with the sheet and some reading!

I got a couple books I wanted for 2019 challenges too. Now that hard of part of waiting out the next week for it to be 2019. I have no self control.

message 76: by Johanne (new)

Johanne *the biblionaut* | 1668 comments Good morning. the last couple of days I only read a bit before going to sleep. Reading the Lies of Locke Lamora - 65 pages read.

message 77: by Jody (new)

Jody (jodybell) | 3477 comments Another 202 pages for me.

message 78: by Jody (new)

Jody (jodybell) | 3477 comments I just finished Red Dragon - I can't see the spreadsheet so I don't know if it will fit anywhere.

Another 348 pages for me to the tally!

message 79: by Brittany (new)

Brittany Morrison | 478 comments I listened to another hour of American Panda today. I also started reading The Murder House last night and have read 98 pages there.

message 80: by Beth F (new)

Beth F | 63 comments I didn't get a chance to read much on Christmas Eve/Day but I have another 72 pages read to add to the tally.

I'm hoping to finish An American Marriage by tonight, which I'm using for the ATY challenge so it'll count for that, but not sure if it fits anywhere else that we still need. I'll sit down and figure that out after I decide where the put all the new toys/gifts that are covering every flat surface of our family room. :)

message 81: by Sabrina (new)

Sabrina | 393 comments Hey just made more updates! We reached the first and second page goals! We also reached the ATY book goal and the the picture book goal.

We have left the last page goal, the book total goals, the audio total goals, the game goal, the published in dec/jan, and the chilly atmosphere. So definitely check your remaining books for publishing month.

message 82: by Tracy (last edited Dec 26, 2018 03:09PM) (new)

Tracy (tracyisreading) | 2573 comments Hey team,

I did not have a Merry Christmas yesterday. My book got set aside in the morning after some serious issues with my girls father and a visit from a very nice police officer who really didn't make me feel much better. No reading done and I am taking a mental break today to try and get myself together. I may or may not get some pages in today depending, but for now I'm thinking tomorrow and Friday I may squeeze in some, and then hopefully over the weekend. I know reading is good therapy but I'm so far beyond it at the moment 😕

I checked publication dates on what I have planned and nothing fits for December/January. I'm still looking though, I had a few shorter reads planned so if no one has anything I can change up some of my books. Also looking at my list for the chilly atmosphere.

message 83: by Jody (new)

Jody (jodybell) | 3477 comments Oh Tracy, that is really shitty. I’m so sorry to hear that you are having to go through more with him. I wish things were different for you.

message 84: by Jody (new)

Jody (jodybell) | 3477 comments I've just finished The Little Book of Hygge: The Danish Way to Live Well, which counts for:

12. Read a book with S-N-O-W in the title.

Sabrina, are you able to approve my access to the spreadsheet so that I can see it?

You can also add another 118 pages to my tally - thanks!

I have blessings Jody. I have my girls. I have my new relationship. I just want everyone to be safe.

message 86: by Tracy (last edited Dec 26, 2018 03:16PM) (new)

Tracy (tracyisreading) | 2573 comments I can do the December/January publication.

I have 4 books on my (possible) currently reading list. Most likely it will be The Giver (1/24/2006), or I Liked My Life(1/31/2017).

The other 2 are Newtown: An American Tragedy and Defending Jacob.
I can commit to finishing one of those by friday latest. It'll be a good distraction.

Your board has been updated :)

message 88: by Brittany (new)

Brittany Morrison | 478 comments I finished The Murder House so you can add another 353 pages for me. I somehow lucked out and only work one day between Christmas and New Years so I'm using all this time to read.

message 89: by Kathy Jo (new)

Totals:

Sorry about that I didn't see your request!
More updates: We reached the second page goal and the first book goal!
Oh and idk if these have been guessed already but I'm pretty sure the cover on the top middle is (view spoiler) and the bottom right is (view spoiler)

message 92: by Sabrina (new)

Sabrina | 393 comments for me, I finished deathly hallows at 3 am last night (i managed to smudge a page with eyeliner due to my tears.) I'm almost done with what if its us, and i also squeezed in a cap comic. So in total I added 318 pages yesterday.
Tomorrow (or today I guess) I'm not quite sure what I want to read yet? I'll definitely finish What if it's us and then I'll do either Cress or Turtles All the Way Down i'm not sure yet. Might start another audio after what if it's us, probably Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore.

message 93: by Marin (new)

Marin (marinbeth) | 187 comments Back on track now that I'm back on my train commute!

Pages read since last update: 187 (new total is 618).
Audiobook hours: 1.25

Book finished: Prince Caspian. I don't think there are any specific challenges left that this can count towards.

message 94: by Jody (new)

Jody (jodybell) | 3477 comments I finished both How to Be Black and Dream Country today, plus read a little of my new Serial Reader book, Ethan Frome.

439 pages for me today.

message 95: by Kathy Jo (new)

Kathy Jo (kjsotr) | 304 comments I played the Antonym/ Synonym game today. And have read about 0.125 pages. Lol

message 96: by Johanne (new)

Johanne *the biblionaut* | 1668 comments So sorry to hear that Tracy...

I am pretty sure that between us we participated in all of the games. I joined today 'Bookish questions'.

message 97: by Johanne (new)

Johanne *the biblionaut* | 1668 comments And I am reading the Chris Riddell illustrated edition of 'the Tales of Beetle the Bard' during the next couple of days and it was first released in december 2007 (handmade edition) and published for the general public in december 2008, so no matter how you count, it works. So unless you really want to read those books Tracy I am on it... Just finished a Harry Potter film marathon today so it seems fitting.

message 98: by Tracy (new)

Tracy (tracyisreading) | 2573 comments Oh johanne, go for it and thank you. I am worn out 🙁

message 99: by Beth F (new)

Beth F | 63 comments I finished An American Marriage by Tayari Jones

The tasks for your second board have been posted. I will post a new board "image" tomorrow. It's getting a bit late for me :P

The tasks are cumulative so all totals are for the entirety of the read-a-thon. I did break the "game" task in two so that you could uncover #17.

ETA: Also, the guess for the bottom right (Fahrenheit 451) is incorrect :(
