Yay!!!! Finally found wealthy-ish tags for both books! I thought they had to be tagged a bunch of times in order for it to count! I should still be able to finish a third book before Friday though. Friday is the official check-in correct?

Hey all, we've had a huge wind storm in the area and I'm stuck with no power and only a very limited data plan on my phone. Hopefully power will be back on by tomorrow morning but I'm not holding my breath...over 250,000 people without power in the region and I'm way out in the boonies so sometimes low on the priority list. If it's not back by morning I'll probably take my laptop into town to the library and catch up on some stuff...I'll be ready for some human contact by then anyway..not to mention some hot food! One way or another I'll get things done before the deadline tomorrow night.
I'm glad you were able to get your books sorted out, Morgan!
Take care of you and yours, Karen! I'm happy to help out if you aren't able to find that human contact and hot food.
Thanks! Me too!Where do you live Karen? We had a pretty nasty storm roll through here yesterday also. I was stuck at my daughter's school for three hours, because of a tornado warning. One actually touched down about 10 minutes from my house and five minutes from their school. Very scary.

Karen probably still doesn't have power. She is north of Seattle, about halfway between there and the Canadian border. That whole region got hit hard yesterday, seeing lots of pictures of downed trees and such, lots of power outages! Hopefully she can check in later today.
wow, Karen. It might not be safe to drive to town. I'm glad you and your family are okay.MKat, is there anything that we can do to help out?
I think your team is in pretty good shape, I know Karen had things together before the power went out.And Morgan - I don't do tornadoes! That's why I don't live where they are happen! Totally freaked me out when I was in the Denver airport and saw all the signs for where to shelter. 😬
Hey everyone! I'm here...still no power at home but had no trouble getting into town, and crews were actually working in our area, so with a little luck might have power back by the end of the day. Trees are down on wires, and in at least one case a power pole needs to be replaced, but they're on it! I actually had a little trouble finding wifi when I got town - library has power, but no wifi so that didn't do me any good. I finally resorted to Denny's...crazy busy, but I'm fine with waiting 25-30 minutes for my food - gives me time to get a few things done! I've updated our tracking post, but just with the minimum we needed to get our roses. I'll add the rest of the books you all read once things settle down. I made sure my links all worked properly, but running out of time so if someone can double check that all of the completion posts are...well...complete 😜 I'd appreciate it!
Thanks for all the concern and good wishes - this was a bit of an inconvenience for me, but it happens fairly often where I live - it's a lot harder on the people who live in town and aren't prepared for it! Hopefully everyone will be back online soon!

I'm back!!!! Power came back on an hour or so ago. It was off for just over 31 hours. If this is any indication what the rest of the winter is going to be like, I think it's time to invest in a better generator! I have one, but it's old and cranky and I've never been able to start it without help, so it's usually easier just to do without. Often a big storm like this will take out the vast majority of the potentially damaging trees though, so hopefully the rest of the winter will be better! =)We ended up with 13 books read this week, even though we only needed 8...nice to see so many extra - you never know when you'll need them. Great job, everyone! Now on to the "A" task tomorrow!
Crap, i offered to help and spent most of yesterday out Christmas shopping. Sorry, I didn't check the links. By the time I got home last night, I was pooped.I agree with Stacie....I'm glad that you are back safe.
New Theme!Date 2 - A - Visiting the Family
A is for Another
Read a book in a series longer than a trilogy (at least 4 books). This must be 4 primary books, you can read any book in the series including novellas if they are 90+ pages.
Remember books must be 90 pages and MPG romance!!
You have until Friday, January 4 @ Midnight US EST to post your completion(s).
Please ensure that your completion post conforms to message #2 of your team thread.
Thanks Karen. :) That's great news, I haven't been feeling great lately so really happy we got an easy one.I'll be reading Christmas Angel.
Team 15 has won the speed rose again this week...they have some speedy readers/listeners on that team! Since that's done AND this is the "Visiting the Family" date, there's no rush to finish - we've got 2 weeks to get our books finished. Just don't wait so long that you forget! 😋
Hey All. It might seem like a silly thing, but I want to remind us to double check that our books are MPG romance. I noticed MKat disqualifying completion posts because it wasn't MPG romance. Some of the books even had romance in the titles, but I guess that doesn't matter. It must be MPG romance. Since the first rose is claimed, my participation will be sporadic for the next week. I'll have family keeping me busy. Rest assured that I'll be reading a couple of MPG romance novels.
Happy Holidays :o)
Chan wrote: "Hey All. It might seem like a silly thing, but I want to remind us to double check that our books are MPG romance. We can't just assume the book qualifies because we know it's romance...if it's too new or too obscure to be shelved enough times as romance, it won't show on the main page so won't qualify.
We've got until after New Year's to finish our books, so everyone just read at your leisure and enjoy the holidays!

Hey everyone! I've updated the tracking post to this point, and since as Kat said, we've alraedy earned 2 of the remaining 3 roses, and just missing Chan's completion for the 3rd one, I'm not going to add any more books (except Chan's) to the tracking post. If you read more and want to post them here you're certainly welcome to, but don't feel obligated - we're in great shape!
Hey Y'all! I hope everybody enjoyed the holidays. I am still enjoying my break. My gosh, I needed this. We've been getting a lot of rain, but I'm still having a great time. For those who celebrate Christmas...Did everybody get what they wanted???

Another great tale by Nora Roberts. As you can see from my rating, I enjoyed this quite a bit. So, I’m not going to go on and on about the awesomeness of this series.
I will tell you about a part of the book that struck a nerve. Without giving too much away, there is a part of the investigation that physically affects Eve and Roarke in a bad way. I did not like this scene nor the resolution of it. I’m glad they talked it out, but it left a bitter taste in my mouth.

Glad you enjoyed your break, Chan! We're getting a lot of rain here too, alternating with very wet snow. Not enough for any snow accumulation, but it's pretty coming down (as long as you don't have to be out in it). We're coming into a cold, dry stretch for the next few days, though.
Our family is very low-key as far as the holidays go. We still all get together, hang out and do the big Christmas dinner, but we've mostly done away with gifts except for the kids - and since the kids are all in their teens, they're more interested in money, gift cards, and in the case of my nephew, gear for his truck! It was a nice, relaxing day though. I feel very fortunate to be part of a family where everyone genuinely likes each other and we all actually enjoy spending time together...it makes holidays so much less stressful than what a lot of people deal with!

Hey Chan, this is just a nit-picky thing, but would you mind modifying your qualification so that it indicates something about the series length...even just changing it to "Book #4 in series" would be sufficient. It might be ok the way it is, but I'd just rather not take any chances. Thanks! 🙂
You got it :o)I don't remember Kat's do's and don'ts of altering a completion post, thus I'll re-post with your required addition.

The thing about editing was just not to do it after the date ends, before that changes are ok. Editing after the date ends means I can't tell if you actually posted beforehand and I won't be able to count it.

Phew! I was really sweating this one...did NOT want Current, which is kind of strange because in most circumstatnces that would have been my first choice. This time, however, it would have made me choose between something really short that I wasn't thrilled about and something on my M&G list that's longer but that I want to read. With this one I have an option that is short but also sounds cute -
- lots of colors to choose from!
