i only got 250

thanks
Looks fine, Sammy
Slytherpuff - I think it’s borderline but when I look at the cover I’m not sure i could call it any colour other than yellow so I will say yes

Gemma it is 250 but depends if people use two lines on the sheet. And include the task “number” both times. I’ll go through and fix them up before the end of the month

the/a are fine

I'm an idiot I guess. I don't quite understand. Does this mean that we can choose whether or not to use the/a as part of our 3+ words?

Oooh, Lexi, read it even if it isn't yellow enough. Mind-Bendingly good book.

I think it is another borderline, but again.. what other colour would you call it? So I'm ok with it being yellow
We're trying to take more of a reasonable approach rather than a "must be 50% or more on tineye" because tineye doesn't always know what it is talking about haha

It has issues at times with yellow versus brown. Also, the large black fonts on some of these take a lot of space.

the/a do count as words
"&" doesn't count but "and" does

Louise - I cant see 3 vowels. Can you highlight them to me please. I’m on my phone so it may be that I’m missing something
Marie I can’t copy and paste in my phone but there is a blurb about the idioms in the goals FAQ. Provided the meaning is the same slight wording changes are acceptable

BarbecUE And a murder

Thanks. Yes they are in a row, so that is ok.
(sorry, the app is really crap and makes these things hard sometimes!)

Can tineye still be used?

Thanks!

That’s fine Alison - it doesn’t need to say the actual words (if it did the task would specify to find the words in the text)

(It had been edited to have "2nd Dec bonus task" at some point, but I had made some changes to my reading plans and as a result it's gone again. Sorry!)

We know that part. We couldn't make it to give only half as you need to read both books to get those points.
I think Karen said somewhere at the start to add both books in the same line. If you have only one book, don't put read date so it won't register points. When/if you read second one, just add one od the read dates to get points.

Wait, what? Where did it say that? I thought the Dec books for the bonus could only count for the bonus?!

Actually the edits I had made were precisely to do things the way you are saying, but then I changed it back...
I didn’t want to mess up my total books read count (i.e. ultimately seeming like I read 25 books when it’s actually 26, or whatever).

I am with Alysa that is what I thought I read. going back to reread

Maybe Karen will stop by and give better choice. She made spreadsheets so maybe there is something I don't know :)

But I might have missed if it was said differently
@Alysa, for your first bonus book, overwrite the task ref with 1st bonus (or similar), but fill in date etc . You should get the book read credit but no points
When you finish the 2nd book, fill that in as December Bonus as the drop down, put in date, and you’ll then get the points and book read credit

EDit: I see the fix in 241, thanks

You don't need to worry about it. Depending on how you record your books I am updating your books read formula to suit.
I should have set it up differently to begin with, to have it consistent, but too late now ;) So instead I am altering the formulas as needed

Can it be a vacation where they end up staying at the end of the story?

i was thinking that it would be where they move during the story, seeing that it is worth 250 points it should be a bit challenging. I guess being on vacation and then deciding to stay permanently would count

I think just do your best to find a “genuine” one. I did consider changing the goal to January 2 but it didn’t seem right 😂
I also checked netgalley and there are a bunch of “read now” available publishing on Jan 1 😎

Book is set in Australia past that. I think Tex is a main character. Thank you!
Yes they need to move during the book. It is worth lots of points so is meant to be a bit difficult 😉

As I’m on my phone this is the closest thing I can get to a picture. I tried Safari but it wouldn’t let me link or post a cover
