For December bonus is it 250 for each book or for completing 2?! I've just noticed some getting 500 for that task so wanted to check if it's worth me doing!!

Looks fine, Sammy
Slytherpuff - I think it’s borderline but when I look at the cover I’m not sure i could call it any colour other than yellow so I will say yes

Gemma it is 250 but depends if people use two lines on the sheet. And include the task “number” both times. I’ll go through and fix them up before the end of the month
Since it seems to be slightly lenient on yellow this game, is this yellow enough or too much rabbit?

I'm an idiot I guess. I don't quite understand. Does this mean that we can choose whether or not to use the/a as part of our 3+ words?

"Oooh, Lexi, read it even if it isn't yellow enough. Mind-Bendingly good book.

I think it is another borderline, but again.. what other colour would you call it? So I'm ok with it being yellow
We're trying to take more of a reasonable approach rather than a "must be 50% or more on tineye" because tineye doesn't always know what it is talking about haha

It has issues at times with yellow versus brown. Also, the large black fonts on some of these take a lot of space.

the/a do count as words
"&" doesn't count but "and" does

Louise - I cant see 3 vowels. Can you highlight them to me please. I’m on my phone so it may be that I’m missing something
Marie I can’t copy and paste in my phone but there is a blurb about the idioms in the goals FAQ. Provided the meaning is the same slight wording changes are acceptable
Karen ⊰✿ wrote: "Louise - I cant see 3 vowels. Can you highlight them to me please. I’m on my phone so it may be that I’m missing something"BarbecUE And a murder

BarbecUE And a murder"
Thanks. Yes they are in a row, so that is ok.
(sorry, the app is really crap and makes these things hard sometimes!)

Can tineye still be used?
I read
for this task and it has 51% yellow according to tineye. Is it okay?
Forgive me Karen but the tautogram task is driving me bonkers 😂🙈 Does What Wendy Wants work for that? Did I understand what a tautogram is correctly?

On the skinny dipping task, does it need to specifically say skinny dipping somewhere or would it be enough for someone to go into a river/sea/lake in the buff?
That’s fine Alison - it doesn’t need to say the actual words (if it did the task would specify to find the words in the text)
@Mods --my spreadsheet is adding in the 250 points for the bonus task although only one of my books for that is complete.(It had been edited to have "2nd Dec bonus task" at some point, but I had made some changes to my reading plans and as a result it's gone again. Sorry!)
Is the bonus task for January like the one for December where the books count in a category and then also for the bonus?
Alysa wrote: "@Mods --my spreadsheet is adding in the 250 points for the bonus task although only one of my books for that is complete.(It had been edited to have "2nd Dec bonus task" at some point, but I had m..."
We know that part. We couldn't make it to give only half as you need to read both books to get those points.
I think Karen said somewhere at the start to add both books in the same line. If you have only one book, don't put read date so it won't register points. When/if you read second one, just add one od the read dates to get points.
Lexi wrote: "Is the bonus task for January like the one for December where the books count in a category and then also for the bonus?"Wait, what? Where did it say that? I thought the Dec books for the bonus could only count for the bonus?!

Actually the edits I had made were precisely to do things the way you are saying, but then I changed it back...
I didn’t want to mess up my total books read count (i.e. ultimately seeming like I read 25 books when it’s actually 26, or whatever).

I am with Alysa that is what I thought I read. going back to reread
You could then try with not putting task number, or in this case that is bonus. I think it should still count your book, but wouldn't add points.Maybe Karen will stop by and give better choice. She made spreadsheets so maybe there is something I don't know :)
As far as I know, you can use book for one task only and that goes for bonus task too.But I might have missed if it was said differently
@Alysa, for your first bonus book, overwrite the task ref with 1st bonus (or similar), but fill in date etc . You should get the book read credit but no points
When you finish the 2nd book, fill that in as December Bonus as the drop down, put in date, and you’ll then get the points and book read credit

My bad, but it only gives credit for one book. Is there a post on that, which I missed too?EDit: I see the fix in 241, thanks
With this bonus task, I'm getting myself too confused. Should we be counting the two books as 1 for the purpose of our book count for our category? Or do we need to count them as 2 books read?

You don't need to worry about it. Depending on how you record your books I am updating your books read formula to suit.
I should have set it up differently to begin with, to have it consistent, but too late now ;) So instead I am altering the formulas as needed

For the January bonus, do we have to see the characters move during the story? Or can it be obvious from the book description that they have recently moved? Can it be a vacation where they end up staying at the end of the story?
Lots of books say orginally published on Jan 1 but these are older books and it just means that they didn't log a date, mind year, for that version. How do you all want to handle this, as they are not really published on that day?

i was thinking that it would be where they move during the story, seeing that it is worth 250 points it should be a bit challenging. I guess being on vacation and then deciding to stay permanently would count

I think just do your best to find a “genuine” one. I did consider changing the goal to January 2 but it didn’t seem right 😂
I also checked netgalley and there are a bunch of “read now” available publishing on Jan 1 😎

For the January bonus, do they have to move during the course of the book or can it be talked about? Example from the text: Tex had moved to Australia when he was 5 after his parents died. Book is set in Australia past that. I think Tex is a main character. Thank you!
Yes they need to move during the book. It is worth lots of points so is meant to be a bit difficult 😉
