Sara I thought of Where'd You Go, Bernadette right away. What other books have questions in the title?

message 2: by El (last edited Nov 10, 2018 04:23AM) (new)

El | 196 comments Why Didn't They Ask Evans? by Agatha Christie
N or M? by Agatha Christie - I didn't like this that much.

message 4: by Thomas (new)

Thomas Do none fiction books count cos i was thinking of Did She Kill Him?

message 5: by Katy (new)

Katy M | 960 comments Non-fiction books absolutely count. I'm annoyed because today I just finished a book that the title was a question. Oh, well.

Raquel (Silver Valkyrie Reads) | 896 comments This one goes very nicely with the ATY prompt for one of the 5 W's in the title. I'm using this one: Who is Branwell Brontë?

message 7: by Kenya (new)

Kenya Starflight | 985 comments I've found a LOT of children's books that fall under this heading, such as Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?, Are You My Mother?, What Do People Do All Day?, etc. So if that's your thing, there's plenty of options there.

Aside from that, a heartbreaking but powerful read with a question for a title is They Shoot Horses, Don't They?

message 9: by Kara (new)

Kara (kara2u) | 20 comments Whose Body?. This would also fit the amateur detective prompt.

message 10: by Nullifidian (last edited Nov 10, 2018 12:05PM) (new)

Nullifidian I've never read any of Anthony Trollope's Palliser novels, so I thought this would be a good place to start with Can You Forgive Her? .

message 11: by Elinore (new)

Elinore | 20 comments Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? or Why Not Me? by Mindy Kaling would be a fun read :)

message 12: by Brooke (new)

Brooke | 273 comments When Will There Be Good News? is my pick. It has been on my bookshelf for longer than I care to admit.

message 14: by Johanne (last edited Nov 10, 2018 02:19PM) (new)

Johanne *the biblionaut* | 1301 comments What's Eating Gilbert Grape.
And someone (Nadine?) mentioned this book somewhere What If?: Serious Scientific Answers to Absurd Hypothetical Questions
And I thought of this one I loved as a teenager: Agnes Cecilia, hvem er du? meaning Agnes Cecilia, who are you?. But it seems in other languages than Danish it's not phrased as a question.

Kelsey | 94 comments Elinore wrote: "Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? or Why Not Me? by Mindy Kaling would be a fun read :)"

Thanks for this! I think I'll do "Why not me?"

message 18: by JoAnna (new)

JoAnna | 84 comments I'm wondering if Hillary Clinton's What Happened would count. I don't think it's really meant as a question, but it could be misconstrued as one.

message 19: by Tracy (new)

Tracy (tracyisreading) | 608 comments I think after reading reviews I'll jump on the Where'd You Go, Bernadette train....

Jenny (juliababyjen) | 190 comments Tracy wrote: "I think after reading reviews I'll jump on the Where'd You Go, Bernadette train...."

I think I might read this one too.

message 21: by SarahKat (new)

SarahKat | 171 comments Which Witch? is a good middle grade book. Although I haven't read it since I was about 11. I may read it to my kid for this prompt.

message 22: by Diane (new)

Diane Adams | 11 comments Does it have to have a question mark? Thinking about What If It's Us by Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera.

message 23: by Johanne (new)

Johanne *the biblionaut* | 1301 comments Diane, I thought about that as well, but as long as it´s phrased as a question I´d say it is a question with or without a question mark.

message 24: by poshpenny (last edited Nov 11, 2018 04:58PM) (new)

poshpenny | 1916 comments What If It's Us is my best choice so far

message 25: by Natalie (new)

Natalie (esaria) | 13 comments This entire series would work! :D

Am I Normal Yet? (The Spinster Club, #1) by Holly Bourne How Hard Can Love Be? (The Spinster Club, #2) by Holly Bourne What's a Girl Gotta Do? (The Spinster Club, #3) by Holly Bourne ...And a Happy New Year? (The Spinster Club, #3.5) by Holly Bourne

I read Am I Normal Yet a while ago and loved it, so I'll be reading How Hard Can Love Be? c:

message 26: by Lindi (new)

Lindi (lindimarie) This one is easy for me - Why Not Me? by Mindy Kaling! I adored Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me?, so I'm excited to read her latest(?)

I also found Who Thought This Was a Good Idea?: And Other Questions You Should Have Answers to When You Work in the White House on my TBR for any of my fellow U.S. politics nerds.

There's also Are We All Lemmings and Snowflakes? and How Do You Like Me Now?. (her adult debut). Holly loves a question title!

If we're going for misconstrued titles, then It Can't Happen Here by Sinclair Lewis could count.

Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? by Philip K. Dick

Am I Normal Yet? by Holly Bourne

If we're going for tangentially related, would anyone else count a book with the word "question" in the title as fulfilling the prompt?

Linda Varick-cooper | 20 comments Rachael wrote: "If we're going for tangentially related, would anyone else count a book with the word "question" in the title as fulfilling the prompt?"

Thinking outside the box! I like it!

message 36: by Tina (new)

Tina (trwriteratwork) | 42 comments I have What If It's Us on my wishlist, hoping to get it soon. And I also have Can You Keep a Secret?, Remember Me? and Are You Afraid of the Dark? on my shelves.

What If It's Us by Becky Albertalli Can You Keep a Secret? by Sophie Kinsella Remember Me? by Sophie Kinsella Are You Afraid of the Dark? by Sidney Sheldon

message 38: by Serendipity (new)

Serendipity | 146 comments I want to read more non-fiction next year. In fact my goal is to read at least one book from each of the main Dewey system (e.g. 100s) next year. So I think I'll head to my library and browse the 100s and 200s. I'm banking on the philosophy and religion sections are likely to have titles that include question.

This is a great idea! Would have never thought of that one. Thanks

message 40: by Britany (new)

Britany | 1694 comments I just finished Can't We Talk about Something More Pleasant? by Roz Chast

it was so good-- and would work for this prompt for next year.

message 41: by Kim (new)

Kim | 215 comments This is a no-brainer for me, because I've just ordered a copy of Whose Boat Is This Boat?: Comments That Don't Help in the Aftermath of a Hurricane, by The Staff of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert (proceeds go to help storm victims).

And then, there's the Lemony Snicket All the Wrong Questions Series: Who Could That Be at This Hour?, etc. Those are fast and fun, and great for people who have kids doing the PopSugar challenge.

message 42: by Wendy (last edited Nov 19, 2018 05:45PM) (new)

Wendy | 35 comments Does the Noise in My Head Bother You? by Steven Tyler, which can also count for the book by a musician prompt

message 43: by Soph ♡ (new)

Soph ♡ | 130 comments Why Didn't They Ask Evans? LOVE Agatha Christie!

message 47: by Peggy (new)

Peggy Gulyas (pegspages) | 5 comments How do you name the title of the book in comments and have it link to the page? Mine didn't.

The Chapter Conundrum (Stacey) | 404 comments Peggy wrote: "How do you name the title of the book in comments and have it link to the page? Mine didn't."

If you're using the app unfortunately you can't do it but if you're on a browser version of the goodreads site, right above where you type your comment there's a button for "add book/author". You'd click on that, select whether you want the book or author tab (if on book tab at the bottom you can select whether you want the link or the cover) then just search your book and click OK beside the correct one that shows up.

message 49: by SadieReadsAgain (new)

SadieReadsAgain (sadiestartsagain) | 767 comments I only have one "?" on my TBR, and it's How Should a Person Be? I'm actually not thrilled about it, because after reading it's GR page I'm not entirely sure why I even bought it...but I'll go with it for now, unless/until something better presents itself.

message 50: by KaalAmba (new)

KaalAmba (amba1sfr) | 9 comments I'm choosing one of these three in my TBR: Are Prisons Obsolete? by Angela Davis, Why Not Me? by Mindy Kaling, or What If?: Serious Scientific Answers to Absurd Hypothetical Questions by Randall Munroe.
