Joyce | 41 comments Does anyone know whether What's Eating Gilbert Grape is actually a question or a statement? I've seen it with and without a question mark. It will be my choice if it works.

Thanks.

I'd say it's totally a question even without the proper punctuation! :) I know lots of us are planning Where'd You Go, Bernadette even though it doesn't have a ? in the title!

Sounds like a question to me.

Is It Night or Day? - Using this one!"

'What was she thinking?' sounds like something I will either find gripping or will love to hate, so I think I'll try that one.

message 58: by Britney (new)

Britney (bookishbritney) | 6 comments I'm going to do the graphic novel memoir Can't We Talk about Something More Pleasant? by Roz Chast.

What Was She Thinking? Notes on a Scandal is a great idea! I think I may go with this one.

message 64: by Swayam (new)

Swayam Sampurna | 2 comments I have a copy of The Finkler Question lying around, and since it technically has a 'question' in the title, I'm just going to go with it!

Shana Helton-plummer | 3 comments Who Asked You? By Terry McMillian

message 66: by Linds (new)

Linds (alicefalldown) I'll be reading What the Hell Did I Just Read I love the John Dies at the End series and this one has been on the TBR since it came out.

message 67: by Megan (new)

Megan | 361 comments I was going to do Whose Boat Is This Boat?: Comments That Don't Help in the Aftermath of a Hurricane but didn't realize it was super short so I'm gonna have to pick something else.

message 68: by Amy (last edited Dec 27, 2018 03:20PM) (new)

Amy | 2 comments Where Is Joe Merchant? by Jimmy Buffett - Also works for category #3!

message 69: by Brandyn (new)

Brandyn (brandy_k) | 82 comments Totally jealous of everyone who hasn't read Where'd You Go, Bernadette yet.

I also really loved Mara Wilson's essays Where Am I Now?.

I'm in the middle of Who Thought This Was a Good Idea?: And Other Questions You Should Have Answers to When You Work in the White House so I might wait to finish it til next week:)

message 70: by Sarah (new)

Sarah O'Riordan | travelseatsreads (travelseatsreads) | 25 comments I currently have Are We All Lemmings and Snowflakes? out from the library but also like the look of Am I Normal Yet? and What If It's Us

message 71: by Darci (new)

Darci Day | 164 comments I've been wanting to read Enough Said: What's Gone Wrong with the Language of Politics? for awhile, this is the perfect excuse!

Chris Powell | 4 comments Tanvi wrote: "I have What If It's Us on my wishlist, hoping to get it soon. And I also have Can You Keep a Secret?, Remember Me? and [book:Are You Afraid of the Dark?..."

Courtney Blocher | 64 comments I'm going with What Alice Forgot by Liane Moriarty. Its not technically a question but it could be ;) and that works for me.

message 77: by Janet (new)

Janet (jnabring) | 54 comments Just finished What Was She Thinking? Notes on a Scandal by Zoe Heller for this prompt. Very much enjoyed it - very thought-provoking. Even though pretty much none of the characters were very likable!

message 78: by Erin (new)

Erin (maclanoodle) | 30 comments I read a lot of Lois Duncan as a child (I don't know why I was so fascinated by her slightly creepy books, but I loved them), and she wrote a non-fiction book that would work here called Who Killed My Daughter?: The True Story of a Mother's Search for Her Daughter's Murderer. I absolutely loved it, and even though I'm trying not to do re-reads for this challenge unless it's for the nostalgia/re-read prompts, I might do this one for the question.

message 79: by Shelley (last edited Jan 14, 2019 11:29AM) (new)

Shelley Pearson (shelleymelissa) I just read a cozy mystery that fits this category - Who Moved My Goat Cheese? It's about a chef who's working to open a farm-to-fork restaurant in a small town in Idaho.

I guess Who Moved My Cheese? would also work, but I haven't read it!

I was actually planning on using Who Is Vera Kelly? for this one...I just know it's about a lesbian who gets recruited by the CIA in the 60s.

message 80: by Seema (new)

Seema Rao (seemarao) | 2 comments Who is Vera Kelly sure is good and surprising. Also, great for cover art (modern mrs. darcy)

message 81: by Kimberly (new)

Kimberly | 21 comments I think I'll choose a book from the YA/middle grade range in the "Who was?" series. I'm going to need a couple easier reads to get through 50 books in a year anyway.

message 82: by teal (new)

teal | 6 comments I feel like I may have cheated a little on this one since there isn't a question mark, but I read "On What Grounds" by Cleo Coyle for this one. It was not one of my favourite reads, but I already have subsequent books in the series so we'll see how it goes!

message 83: by Beth (new)

Beth (bsomers) | 34 comments Who Do You Love by Jennifer Weiner
I just added this one to my list!

message 84: by Sherri (new)

Sherri Saul | 17 comments I just finished "N or M?" by Agatha Christie. I always like AC, and this was a new set of characters for me since I had never read any of her Tommy and Tuppence books.

message 85: by Doris (new)

Doris (webgeekstress) I read Can You Survive the Zombie Apocalypse? for this one, which also counts for choose-your-own-adventure.

I just finished "N or M?". It is a good A Christie read.

Rachel (rachel_rieve) | 10 comments I'm going to do Can You Keep a Secret?. I was supposed to read it last year but never got around to it.

message 89: by Katy (new)

message 90: by Amy (new)

Amy Gaskins | 10 comments Your Fathers, Where Are They? And the Prophets, Do They Live Forever? is an interesting one. It can also double for the "book with no chapters / unusual chapter headings / unconventionally numbered chapters" if you're into that.

message 91: by Michelle (RavenLily) (last edited Jan 22, 2019 10:29AM) (new)

Michelle (RavenLily) | 24 comments This is an anthology but it should still count.

Sarah (sezziy) | 901 comments The only ones I can find at my library that aren't for little kids or self help are They Shoot Horses, Don't They? or Can You Forgive Her?. Has anyone read either of them?

Does it matter? :-D
I chose "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? but I'm reading it in Swedish and then it's called "Androidens drömmar" (The Dreams of an Android).
BTW, I love Agnes Cecilia also

Another Agnes Cecilia fan! :) Swedish author Maria Gripe if anyone is interested - she writes beautifully.

Shannon | 552 comments For anyone who enjoys juvenile fiction/Lemony Snicket, there's a prequel series to A Series of Unfortunate Events (about young Lemony Snicket's first case) that I highly recommend--the series is called All the Wrong Questions:

Who Could That Be at This Hour?
When Did You See Her Last?
Shouldn't You Be in School?
Why Is This Night Different from All Other Nights?

Sadly (or not so sadly because I loved them), I have already read them and so will have to look elsewhere to fulfill this category...

message 96: by Cornerofmadness (new)

Cornerofmadness | 805 comments I just finished Why Kill the Innocent by C.S. Harris (for a different prompt) It was a great historical mystery ( but rather late in the series)

message 97: by Alix (new)

Alix (alixbrand) | 57 comments I wasn't going to do it but I've gave in.. Going to try Where'd You Go, Bernadette hope its great!

message 98: by WtchCityBtch (new)

WtchCityBtch | 4 comments Who Thought This Was a Good Idea?: And Other Questions You Should Have Answers to When You Work in the White House Loved this one by Alyssa Mastromonaco about her time on President Obama's campaign & white house staff. A little coming of age, a little how to manual, a little comic relief, and a lot of humanizing both political figures and the people behind them that make it all look effortless.

message 99: by Tori (new)

Tori (libroperdido) | 41 comments Just finished Mindy Kaling's Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? An entertaining account of her start in comedy.
