05 - A book with at least one million ratings on Goodreads
Here is a goodreads link, if it's ok for me to post: https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/3... I'm going to read To Kill a Mockingbird
I changed the settings on my "want-to-read" list to show "num ratings" and then sorted from highest to lowest. So I can pick from my TBR list. These are some of the books with over 1 mio. ratings:
To Kill a Mockingbird
Nineteen Eighty-Four
The Help
Little Women
Memoirs of a Geisha
City of Bones
I have read most of those on that listopia but am going with To Kill a Mockingbird because I added it to my list when it won the PBS best book of all times (or something like that).
This one is going to be challenging for me. I have read most of the books on that Listopia list that was helpfully posted. The books I didn't read, I already know about and don't want to read them.I'll come back to this one.
Ooh, The Help qualifies! I picked that one up at a yard sale recently, and will probably also use it for the ATY goodread's choice prompt, since it's nominated in the 'best of the best' category this year.
I might try to tackle Lord of the Rings with this one! Never read them, and as a fantasy lover, its a pretty big fail on my part!
Since I've read just about all of these books with a few exceptions, I'm going to go with the Game of Thrones series!

The Hogwarts house editions of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban are due next year, I believe, so I will be reading that while listening to the related episodes from the Binge Mode: Harry Potter podcast.
There are six in my TBR list, found using the same trick as Anabell, and they are as follows:The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald
Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
Little Women by Louisa May Alcott
Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë
Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë
The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain
I've got over 1500 titles on my TBR list, and only ONE of them has more than one million ratings. I guess this is the year I finally read Life of Pi

Wow, I've read most of them. For me it'll have to be one of these:- Little Women
- The Alchemist
- The Perks of Being a Wallflower
- The Lovely Bones

Loved them all, Especially To Kill a Mockingbird. And 1984 is fascinating to read now in 2018/2019!!

Yea, let me know how you feel about The Life of Pi.....😬
I guess I'll have to dust off The Time Traveler's Wife. I have read a lot of them already and most the others just aren't appealing. Maybe there'll be a massive bestseller that everyone must read next year...
It seems I am stuck with one of the Brontës. *shrug*I already own Wuthering Heights for some reason so I might as well give it another try. It's short, right? Maybe I could watch the Semaphore Code version from Monty Python and call it a day...
I'm going to cheat slightly, and read the illustrated version of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by J.K. Rowling. The normal version has over 1 million ratings, I haven't checked for the illustrated version but I imagine that does not
From my TBR I have two: The Perks of Being a Wallflower or The Alchemist. I think I'll probably go with The Alchemist since I've seen it recommended a few times and it has the most ratings of the two.
I've never read To Kill a Mockingbird ... and I'm an English teacher. It's one of those you "know" about but haven't ever been forced to read (by an English teacher) or picked up. Time to get on it.

ooOOOOHHHhhhh........."
hahahaha that good, huh?! I've obviously been avoiding it all these years. I better make sure I've got some good back-up choices ready.

I have a couple to choose from1. The Secret Life of Bees
2. The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time
3. The Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy: A Trilogy in Five Parts
4. Charlotte's Web
As I try to use my TBR as much as possible for this challenge, this pick was easy. I only have one book on either my physical or Kindle shelves with over 1m ratings, so Eat, Pray, Love it is.
I consulted quite a few lists for this one because all of the books listed that I was interested in and own, I have already read. I keep looking at my Harry Potter books (which would fit other prompts as well) so we'll see. I think I might finally read The Book Thief though, I have been putting it off for a while.
I've avoided a lot of classics up until now and am making a concerted effort to read some so this is a great prompt for me.I'm going with one of these:
Pride and Prejudice
Wuthering Heights
Jane Eyre

Ha - me too!
A lot of the most-rated books on Goodreads are either ones I've already read (like the Harry Potter books) or books I really have no desire to read. Good to see The Book Thief is on the list, though...
I've read a lot of the books on the Listopia list, and the rest were on my TBR list. So it looks like I'll be choosing from the following:The Lovely Bones
The Kite Runner
Eragon
Water for Elephants
Life of Pi
The Perks of Being a Wallflower
The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time
The Golden Compass
I should read The Life of Pi as it is the one that I already own, but I've been avoiding it for awhile now. Just need to get it over with.
Anabell wrote: "I changed the settings on my "want-to-read" list to show "num ratings" and then sorted from highest to lowest. So I can pick from my TBR list..."That's brilliant!
Edit:
Just did it... I literally only have 3 books with over a million on my TBR :/

Great idea Anabell! Thanks for the tip! :)
I admit, I’m not super excited by this prompt. There are plenty on the list that I haven’t read and would probably be okay with reading, but I feel it says something about my enthusiasm for those books that they were THAT popular and I haven’t bothered yet.
As somebody else said, most of the million ratings books are either ones I read, or ones I know I don't want to read.I was hoping that after being chosen number two in the PBS Great American Novel program, Outlander might find its way on that list. I've been watching its ratings. In the past week it has increased by 1000. However, that probably won't be enough since it's only at 670,953 at the moment.
