Rosie What I don't understand is how so many people are able to go on Goodreads during school hours. At my school, phones are prohibited from the first bell of the day to the last. If you're found on a site that isn't educational and for academic learning purposes, you won't be able to use a computer for the rest of the year. Maybe everyone else has less strict schools or something.

Rosie TRALALALALALALALA. I NEED TO DO MY HOMEWORK. *sighs*
I realize I'm being the stereotypical "I don' wanna do my homework" teen, so just to rebel against that, I'm going to do my homework. (I would've done my homework eventually anyway, since I'm a goody two shoes.)
wait wait: what is the origin of that phrase? goody two shoes...hm, I shall go search that

message 103: by Rosie (new)

Rosie Playing Crossy Road (xD I love this game even though it's super simple) and watching youtube. yayyyy
i still need to finish homework....
ignoring that thought

message 104: by Rosie (new)

Rosie I have a golden doodle: Three quarters poodle and one quarter golden retriever. Do you have a dog or any pets in general?

message 105: by Rosie (new)

Rosie Oh, wow! Are you the one who takes care of all of them, or do any family members help feed and walk them?

message 106: by Rosie (new)

Rosie I started watching the show Orange is the New Black and so far, I am enjoying it. It reminds me of Fellside by MR Carey. No, scratch that, it's the other way around. Fellside reminds me of Orange is The New Black.

I procrastinated all my homework until a couple hours ago, so I just finished everything. Right now, I need to work on a drawing of V from BTS because I promised a friend I'd have the drawing finished by tomorrow. I'll probably finish it in the morning, as I wake up at 6 AM.

message 107: by Rosie (new)

Rosie Nice. : )

message 108: by Rosie (new)

Rosie I'm pretty well. I finally got a new lunchbox after having an old purple and pink one for around three years. My new lunchbox is blue and turquoise, and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. For one thing, I really love the colors, and for another, it's new and doesn't smell bad! (It amuses me at how low my expectations have lowered in this area of things.)
Also, my language arts teacher used the beginning of a novella I'm writing for class as an example of a hook at the beginning of a story that makes you want to read more, so I'm happy about that. (I love my language arts teacher! She's super kind and always manages to make class fun. I already love language arts by itself, so having a good teacher makes everything twice as awesome.)
BUT. I ate too much as a snack before dinner, and now my stomach sort of hurts and I keep burping. (Yup. ech.)
But then again, I talked to a friend that I was kind of growing distant to today, and we actually striked up a good conversation.
So, ultimately, today was...well, out of 10, I'd say today was a 7.5 or 8.0. (Above average for me.)
How 'bout you? Did you enjoy school? (I know you're home schooled, and I'm curious how that works for you. How long exactly does an average school day take for you, if you don't mind me asking? Do you get to wear your pajamas all day if you want? If so, amazing. I'm jealous. If not, I'm still jealous, because I have a friend outside of Goodreads who's home schooled and can wear pajamas all day if she doesn't have anything besides school. )

Rosie To whomever, among the fourteen views, may read this: (or no one. I'm really only writing this because it makes me feel better to write about myself. And in years and years, when I die, I'll be remembered somewhere...*cue dramatic silence*)
I'm really tempted to watch Tokyo Ghoul re despite my bad first impressions of it. (view spoiler)
Yup. In case this has not been established (I'm not sure whether I've been clear on this) I love anime. I'm an...otaku. Kind of. But then again, I'm half Japanese (I had not yet mentioned that, but now ya know) so I'm not sure how that works.
I'm hearing that little when you try your best, but you don't succeed tune in my head, and my mind is replacing it with when you eat too much, and then your stomach is too full... Definitely not what I'd call an intelligent replacement; no rhyming, no sarcasm, only truth.
My stomach is too full, though. Oh well. I'll just keep...burping. (Too much information? : D)

message 110: by Rosie (new)

Rosie I'm going to describe to you (whomever or whoever (not sure which is proper grammar) you may be) what I see: I'm laying on my back on the carpet, so above me is the three light bulbs in the shape of a triangle, sort of like the recycling sign in a way that they alll point in one direction and keep going around like a circle. To my right and above me is a peacock feather sticking out of the hle in a cardboard box. I got the peacock feather from my brother who got it from the band teacher last year after answering a question correctly. I think he didn't want it because it was unsanitary. True, but I like peacock feathers, so I disregarded (and continue to disregard) that fact and keep it in my room.
In front of me is a ladybug onesie hanging on a tack stuck in the white walls. Then there's a ton of other things I won't take the time to describe. I was just feeling particularly dramatic, and I wanted to describe the peacock feather.
Sorry.
EHEM.
My page coal for this week is 2000. I hope I can reach it. I almost reached it two weeks ago (and I have DEFINITELY reached it before, but I'm soooo busy right now, and I'm lazy), but I failed.
yup.
In case anyone was wondering, right now I'm mainly reading (the books I'm focusing on right now, not including ones I started but have yet to finish) Who Do You Love by Jennifer Weiner and Girl In Pieces by Kathleen Glasgow. Good books, I think.

message 111: by Rosie (new)

Rosie Three pages so far! How pitiful. I shall continue to write something daily (if I can), and I hope to reach...50. Yup, that's my goal. 50 pages.

message 112: by Rosie (new)

Rosie I like Caleb, the youtuber InsaneReader. He's sassy (lol) and he's not afraid to speak up and comment on it when a guy is treating a girl badly or vice versa in a book. I"m watching a video he just uploaded recently.

message 113: by Rosie (new)

Rosie Martin Luther King is/was awesome. I'm reading through some of his quotes and the things he has said and frankly, it's amazing. Everything he said sounds so inspiring. I'm going to need to write these down in my quote book. I'll just write that down below in caps lock below so I remember when I'm in a mood to write quotes down. (I'll remember when I see the words here.)
WRITE MARTIN LUTHER KING QUOTES DOWN IN HP NOTEBOOK

message 114: by Rosie (new)

Rosie (In case anyone is wondering, yes, I understand that MLK is dead. I wasn't sure if I should say is or was, but now that I look back on it, "was" is the obvious decision. It's getting late. Maybe my brain is just messed up.) Anyway, good night. I think I'm going to get off Goodreads early so that I remember to go to sleep at a healthy time. That's something I need to work on. Thank you for reading this, if you are. I appreciate that. (That sounded very stiff, formal, and awkward, but really, thanks. It makes me happy that someone may be actively reading what I'm writing, you know? : ))

message 115: by Rosie (new)

Rosie Ooh! Pajamas all day sounds amazing. I have to put effort into just putting on jeans at the beginning of the day. Actually, I hardly ever wear jeans because they're tight and uncomfortable. Usually, I wear sweatpants, or leggings with a skirt, or something similar.

My favorite TV show.........uh, I don't really have one. I haven't decided yet. Maybe for particular genres of shows I do, but...hm, well, I do like Sherlock, but I haven't watched all of the episodes. Maybe Supernatural, or Orange Is The New Black, or..oh, well there is anime, but I think I listed my favorites already, but I shall do so again. (Anime doesn't really count, so I'll put it in a spoiler in case you don't really care about the anime.)
(view spoiler)
So, other shows...Maybe...Yeah, I don't really watch many live action TV shows, so I'll have to think about it. What about you?

message 116: by Rosie (new)

Rosie I'm onto the 3rd season of Sherlock, but I haven't watched it for a while. I sort of want to watch Criminal Minds because it sounds interesting, but I probably won't get around to that for a while.

Right now I am quietly suffering because it's 9:35 and I need to take a shower, brush my teeth, finish my science homework, study for the pop quiz that is most likely going to be tomorrow, and do some crunches. (The crunches aren't totally necessary, but I want to do some crunches.)

message 117: by Rosie (new)

Rosie I just watched the movie Baby Driver with my family. If I was to rate it, I'd say...3.8 stars, I think. Or 4. I'm not entirely certain. It was very violent, but I watch violent action movies often, so that's nothing new. I think what annoyed me a little was the action near the end where Baby sort of killed someone. (Not sort of. The murdered character sort of deserved it, because he was an actual evil murderer, but nevertheless, it still was annoying.) I think the actor may have played Gus from TFIOS. Maybe not, but they sure look familiar.

Update: I finally found my phone. It was in the zipped up pocket of a black jacket my mom gave me. (She used to own it, but she said I could have it and occasionally lend it to her so she could wear it.)

Update: Did I mention I lost my phone? I don't think I did. Well, I lost it for about a week. I think I lost it last Sunday...wait no. I dunno. I lost it, but I found it yesterday. Yay.

Random fact about me: I like a ton of different types of humor. I really like irony, sarcasm (sarcasm is a steaming pile of awesomeness (what does that even mean)), dark humor, self deprecating humor, and sometimes just random unintentional silly humor.

Another random fact about me: On Fridays at my school, I have short days. I get off of school an hour early, which is, I must say, very amazing. I got off at...(mentally thinks back on what number the long hand was when I looked at the clock during band class) 2:35 PM today. Usually, I get off at 3:35. I have gymnastics at 4:30, so I had an extra hour of free time which was spent watching youtube videos.

Update: (I don't know why I'm calling these updates, but I guess I'm updating you, organism, about my life, sooooo) I returned my library books! They were 12 days overdue. *laughs both nervously and maniacally* I now owe my mom 11 dollars. (I'm not sure how much money is owed to the library, but my mom said to pay her $11, so I shall.)

I finally watched Heathers about a week ago. Not the actual live version, because there's only one on an illegal sight, and the recording is sort of bad, but a mixture of the live one and tons of animatics. I loveeeeeeeee the music. And JD, he's a complete wacko, but I'd totally ship him and Veronica if he was not. Also, if he was not dead. He's dead. Veronica probably has PTSD, having assisted in the murdering of...3 or 4 people, intentionally or not.

message 118: by Rosie (new)

Rosie Currently watching youtube (DrawWithJazza, if you must ask. His video where he makes salt art) and pretending it's not late and I should go to bed.

message 119: by Rosie (new)

Rosie (I know I totally punctuated the above sentence incorrectly, but BITE ME. (XD That's the first time I've used that phrase, and I like it a whole lot better than (view spoiler) or (view spoiler).)

message 120: by Rosie (new)

Rosie That awkward moment when you stay up until 2:35 AM.

That other awkward moment when you wake up at 11:55 AM.
(That's not my record, though. My record is 2:01 PM.) (Why do I even have a record. This is not a healthy thing.)

message 121: by Rosie (new)

Rosie Nice and healthy. I'd like to do that again (go to bed at a reasonable time and wake up at a reasonable time, that is), but I want to draw and write and listen to music soooooooooooooo

farewell, healthy sleep pattern
not that we were ever friends (I generally go to bed at okay times during school days, but I always wake up early)

message 122: by Rosie (new)

Rosie I'm going to post a character I made just because I'm proud of the effort I put into making her:
(view spoiler)

message 123: by Rosie (new)

Rosie I'm going to my friend's birthday party today. I need to finish my homework before 1:00, but...well, I can work on it after 5:00.

message 124: by Rosie (new)

Rosie I will! Thanks : )
I'm leaving in around... 2 hours and 54 minutes.

message 125: by Rosie (new)

Rosie That horrible moment when you bend over and your ice cold belt buckle touches your stomach. (I'm not sure whether this is actually a common occurrence, but it just happened to me and I hated it.)

message 126: by Rosie (new)

Rosie I won the "Reading/read (a book recently) with a character with the most horrible life." (I know. I know that the grammar is very improper in that sentence; sorry)
I'm reading Girl In Pieces by Kathleen Glasgow and gosh it is SAD

message 127: by Rosie (new)

Rosie This book was one I started, never finished, and only now have started again. The first time I did cry, but I didn't this time. One book I read that made me cry was The Serpent King. 😭

message 128: by Rosie (new)

Rosie Gosh, I'm tired. I don't just mean emotionally, because I definitely am tired physically. Last night, I got about 6 hours of sleep, and I'll probably have a bit more tonight if I don't stay up too late. I know I shouldn't be complaining; there are plenty of people talking about how they got 3 hours or 1 hour of sleep, but I'm still exhausted.

message 129: by Rosie (new)

Rosie Today, I played Gin with my dad. That was fun, but I've been told to practice shuffling 7 times a day every day for a week, then report back to him with my shuffling skills. This will be tedious. I have enough homework as it is, and now I have homework from my family.

message 130: by Rosie (new)

Rosie I learned today that my language arts teacher, Olivia, is scared of raccoons.
Maybe it's true that you learn something new every day. (Well, to be accurate, it is undoubtedly true, because you will have learned what will happen to you on that specific date, even if it may not be useful information.)

message 131: by Rosie (new)

Rosie It seems I'm on page four of this journal. I don't like that number. I like seven. That's my new goal: seven pages.

message 132: by Rosie (new)

Rosie I have a link to a periodic table of elements on my dashboard shelf on my Chromebook. Why? I'd like to study it, if possible. I haven't learned much about all the elements in science class, so it would be interesting and educational if I managed to memorize all the substances and other information I'll probably never use in life-
It's still good to learn these types of things, because you'll be expected to know them and looked down on if you don't. Also, you appear more intelligent when you know random facts about random topics. Or not so random facts about not so random topics.

message 133: by Rosie (new)

Rosie Today, I actually drew a drawing I'm proud of! It's been a while. One of the struggles of an artist (or, frankly, anyone who creates anything): At first, you think it looks great, but then the next day you look at whatever it is and realize that it looks terrible.

message 134: by Rosie (new)

Rosie I love the Cards Against Humanity. Some of the jokes in there are disgusting, but it's all hilarious. My parents don't like me playing that game, though.

message 135: by Rosie (new)

Rosie My family gets raw milk from a farm, but the milk always goes bad within around four days, so a few days ago we purchased regular milk for me to eat with my cereal. The after taste is bad, though. It's organic, NOT fat free, GMO free, etc, but it's still unhealthy, whatever they're doing to it. I definitely like raw milk better, even if it spoils quickly.

message 136: by Rosie (new)

Rosie I feel like I'm being choked; my button up T-shirt is buttoned up all the way up my neck, and in my position, it's rather tight.

I unbuttoned it. Ah, my neck is freeeeee.

that was random..

message 137: by Rosie (new)

Rosie In band class, we got sheet music for Sleigh Ride! I'm SUPER happy about that, because I absolutely love that song! I don't remember all the lyrics, but I'm going to copy and paste them below:
(view spoiler)

come on it's lovely weather for a sleigh ride together with you...Goddamnit, I hate PE. I believe I've already discussed this, but although I'm athletic, I. Hate. PE. But because my parents say "health class (which is being taught by the PE teacher on Mondays) is educational", I have to endure an entire trimester of PE.

message 138: by Rosie (new)

Rosie I have a math test tomorrow..........................I hope I don't fail. I have good grades, but we received the results of our quizzes from last week today, and I got 3.5 out of 5.
three point EFFING (I'm too polite to actually spell out the no no word) five
I may be overreacting, since I've gotten good grades all throughout this trimester, and as long as I do well on the test tomorrow, I'll be fine, but....
WHAT IF I DON'T DO WELL?ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhghhh
Sorry for ranting, if anyone's reading this at this point.

message 139: by Rosie (new)

Rosie It took me by surprise, the hatred in his eyes. I've pushed this man as far as I can go and he lacked the words to let me no or something like that. I love that song. It sounds like an abusive relationship of some sort sang in the abuser's perspective. (It Took Me By Surprise by Maria Mena)

message 140: by Rosie (new)

Rosie I'm watching a show called She-ra and The Princess of Power, which sounds immensely corny but I actually like. My reasons: the artists actually made the female characters have noticeable muscles, wear armor that isn't skimpy and will protect them, and I see some different body types and races. I'm only on episode 4 or 5, but I'm enjoying it. Even if the title is just..no. I heard this is a reboot of an old show called She-ra. I wonder what that was like.

message 141: by Rosie (new)

Rosie For language arts, I'm writing a story, and I'm on page 19! Finally, I got some writing done. I feel so accomplished.

message 142: by Rosie (new)

Rosie I love the youtube channel exurb1a. His accent is really pleasant, and that pessimistic humor amuses me.

message 143: by Rosie (new)

Rosie Good morning. It's 7:04 AM here.
I'm tired, watching animation memes, shuffling my cards, and hoping time passes slowly so I have time to do things I want to do.

message 144: by Rosie (new)

Rosie Goooooodmorning, ladies and gentleman and people/ 'tis 6:43 AM. I'm tired again, but maybe 5% less tired than last morning (which is above), so that's an improvement. Probably because I went to sleep around an hour earlier last night than I did the night before.

Last night I played Rummy with my dad. I got annihilated. The first game, I was in the negatives. At the end, he had 146 more points than I did. The other night, though, I got 90 more points than he did. I suppose the games are evening out. Sort of. But anyway- I need to practice shuffling the deck. My dad told me to shuffle at least seven times every day for a week.

Another thing: For some reason, there was an extra five of spades or clubs in the deck. I don't know why or how.

message 145: by Rosie (new)

Rosie My thighs are sore from Karate practice on Monday, and to top it off, I had really intense gymnastics training today, so I'll be nice and sore tomorrow! : ) Looking forward to it. Enjoying the feeling of being sore is weird, but I like it, because it's a sign that I have worked hard.

message 146: by Rosie (new)

Rosie Today, during gymnastics practice, there were only two students. This guy (he's two or three levels higher than I am) and I. It was super nice, because he's quiet, so it was WAY less loud than usual, and on trampoline, we both got to jump on a white trampoline. Also, during tumbling, because there were only two of us, we did front tumbling instead of our regular routines, which was really fun. I connected a hurdle front handspring to a cartwheel on the floor and tumble track. Everything was more difficult, because instead of waiting in line, one of us would go, then the other, and the cycle would continue. But, our coach kept talking to the other team member, so I think I may have gone more turns than he did.

message 147: by Rosie (new)

Rosie At school during 6th period, my band teacher asked the class, "What are you all cooking for Thanksgiving?" I didn't have the time to answer, but in the last five minutes before the bell rang, I told someone, "I'm going to cook my bread in the toaster for breakfast." I just really enjoyed that moment because of the sarcasm or irony or whatever type of humor that was.

message 148: by Rosie (new)

Rosie (I failed to make boxed mac n cheese, I'm so terrible at cooking. I think I'd be okay if I practiced, but because I have SO many things during the week after school, I never really have time. Maybe during the summer, I will. But back to the mac 'n or mac n' cheese- my mom had to intervene because I poured the cooked mac n' cheese noodles into the wrong strainer thing, and I didn't let the water boil before I put the noodles in the pot. It was just sad. My god, the only things I can make are eggs, sandwiches, toast, and maybe pasta.) (Well, unless I'm given a recipe. Not that I have ever really tried. A lot of recipes I want to try involve sugar, and my family doesn't keep sugar for baking in the house because it's so unhealthy. We use stevia and xylitol.)

message 149: by Rosie (new)

Rosie 😭😱😢😭😭😭I'm wallowing in self pity right now, because the class got results of our tests back today, and I got 21.5 out of 25. This may sound like a pretty good score, but 1.5 or 2 of those points, I could easily have gotten correctly if I had only thought through the questions! And I, being an idiot, thought that three to the second power was twenty seven instead of three. (This wasn't the actual equation, just a crucial part of it.)
Another bad thing is that I used to have an A, and Friday is grading day, so my grade will probably be lowered to an A- or a B+ or a B. AHHHghhhh
Another horrible thing: I'm in an accelerated course/advanced math (my grade and the next grade's math mixed into one year of math class), and if anyone in the class has a grade lower than a B, they'll be kicked out of the class and into the regular one. I may be worrying for nothing, but I'm super anxious now.

message 150: by Rosie (new)

Rosie Also, something that made me feel pretty terrible about myself is this: There's a girl (she's really nice and I like her) at my table who got 24 out of 25, and she was saying how horrible and awful and terrible it was, and exclaiming that she was super dumb, when I here got a 21.5
So. Now I feel even more stupid.
