Between Sinners and Saints by Marie Sexton
Read: 11/16
Rating: 4.5 stars
Review: Some may find the story a bit preachy with all of the Mormon references, but I really enjoyed it. I loved how the the trauma in Jamie's past was managed as well as how Levi's family came around and supported him. This is a story I won't forget.

Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury
How it fits: Standalone
Pages : 194
Rating: 5 atars
Read: Nov 16
Review: Rightfully known as a classic, Fahrenheit 451 is an excellent piece of literature. It makes one think and reflect. I didn't get a chance to read this before and I was hesitant at first because classics are usually a very slow read for me. This book hpwever was just short enough and fast paced enough to keep my attention. Granted I did get lost in the slightly complicated text sometimes and had to reread a few bits twice. But it was worth it all. The scenes wherever the burning of books was described were, I admit, made me a little sick to read them. But the reflections on us as a soceity seem very relevant in todays time.

(Bess Crawford #7)
Review: It is the fall of 1918 and we all know the War to End all Wars will soon be over but nursing sister Bess and everyone else doesn't realize that. Bess is home from France on a short leave and is stranded at the train station with no train to catch to London to visit her family. All the trains have been commandeered for troops. So she decides to see some of the sights and runs into a former patient she nursed 2 years ago and he invites her to his home with his parents.
Once she gets there she is told there is trouble. The soldier's father is under suspicion of blowing up his own munitions factory and killing 100 workers in the village. The family is being terrorized by the people around them including a fire in the home. Bess decides to use her investigative skills to get to the bottom of this and prove the innocence of her host.

Review
I'm liking this series more and more for each book I read. Each case brings something new and it never gets boring. I especially love how the dynamics of the group of characters developes from book to book. Definitely one of the best series I've read this year.

All 9 books are on Kindle Unlimited if you have that

I listened to the audiobooks. The narrator is great.

WEEK 10, SPOT 78

St. Nacho's by Z.A. Maxfield
Fits: Alternate... Water on cover
Pages: 228
Read: 11/22
Rating: 4.5 Stars
Review:
I loved the story and how the two MC got together. There was a lot jammed packed and the author did a great job with not only telling the story though Cooper eyes, but I could see how Jordan and Shawn felt, as well. I can't wait to continue with this series.

Review: Well this was just okay really. It didn't really interest me enough to care about the outcome. The whole hypnosis thing was thrown in there for what purpose? She really didn't learn anything. At the end of the day it was fine but not memorable

Ok, no problem. Life just gets in the way sometimes. :) I hope you still had fun despite it getting a little too stressful to keep going. Thank you for doing the responsible teamplayer thing of officially dropping out rather than just disappearing.
We're nearing the finish line and with one team already on spot 92 this roll, it's possible we only have one more to go. I therefore won't be activating any more back-up players at this stage.

Review:Can you imagine what it must have been like, alone for many years on a tiny island with only the wild dogs, the birds, foxes, and otters to keep you company? With out hearing the sound of another humans voice?
I can see how this book can stay with you through out the years. There is so much emotion to be felt when reading this. You get lost and enchanted. You feel the loneliness, the peace, the beauty and sadness. I smiled, I cried, oh how I cried.

GreenFairy: msg ?

I'll leave a message but we might be out of luck for this roll if GF doesn't show up. We've already used our Free Pass :(

Unless team 2 fails to finish their books for this roll, this will be the final week of the game. I'm sorry you have to sit this last week out due to GreenFairy's missing review. :(

Special thanks to you Krissy for being willing to be our faithful captain.

Review: This book was great. I haven't read a good steampunk in ages, but in all fairness this was more of a historical romance with the paranormal in the mix. More vampires, secrets, sex then cogs and steam. But it is there. I like Blade, I love the accent he has, I can hear him speak and I think it's great. Both him and Honoria are stubborn and don't trust easy but that is something they have earned over their individual lives.
