All Kinds of Tied Down
Pages: 290
Completed: 9/23
Review: Listened to the audio, which was good. But living in Chicago, I could not get over the accents. Very distracting. The story was good, two partners in love. (view spoiler) ..I can see it coming.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

Interesting topic but was a disappointing read: dry, repetitive and overall felt like an unfinished draft.

How it fits: #6 of Sinners on Tour series
Review: 4 of the 5 band members get married (title sorta gives that away). You read about the monkey wrenches and other people involved in the trip to get everyone down the aisle. Typical Sinners book otherwise. (view spoiler) ["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

The Autumn Bride
Completed: 9/26
Rating: ★★★★
Review: This was more of a 3.5. It was pretty easy and predictable but I still enjoyed it. I liked that the girls didn't hide anything from Beatrice and there was no scandalous secret they tried to hide from her. I plan on continuing the series

Book:The Hate U Give
Author: Angie Thomas
Read: Sept 27
How it fits: Standalone
Rating: 5 stars
Review:
There isn't enough stars available for me to give this book, it it beyond 5 stars. So beyond 5 stars.
The Hate U Give,
is real,
it is truth,
no lies told.
Powerful,
meaningful,
inspiring.
Heartbreaking,
anger/rage inducing.
It is 2018, and it disgusts me that we live in world where this book is life for some, for many. Fucking police brutality, systematic racism has to stop. What makes someone think that their white skin makes them any better then some with brown or black? It doesn't. We live in a world with so much hate. We are not born hateful, like the book said Pac said Thug Life stood for 'The Hate U Give Little Infants Fucks Everybody'.” , it's taught.
I loved this book, Angie Thomas, you are an amazing writer.
I loved Starr, her momma and Big Mav, that whole family.
Hailey, sorry blonde don't like you. But I understand the point of you in this book, because there are many Hailey's in this world.. They don't think they are racist, and maybe the are not but it's the things they say even if it's joking around. You can't make a joke/comment about another persons race/culture/cree/gender or whatever and get mad when someone takes offense because you said something you shouldn't.
If I offend anyone with this review, you know what I don't care, unfriend/stop following me. Because if you think things like "white is right" or any other bullshit like that then there's the door.

Week #2 - Spot #16

Book: Cinder
Author: Marissa Meyer
Read: Sept 28
How it fits: Lunar Chronicles #1
Rating: 4 stars
Review: A scifi retelling of Cinderella, Cinder was not what I expected it to be. I saw a lot of the twists coming before they did. (view spoiler) But it was still a really enjoyable read. Maybe because it's been too long since I read sci fi. Nevertheless this is one series I will be finishing.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

Week #3 - Spot #21

The Air He Breathes
Completed: 9/29
Rating: ★★★★
Review: Very emotional book. I can't imagine losing a spouse and a child. I can completely understand the grief the MCs felt. I was very happy to see such a sweet ending. Loved the epilogue.

That should count for starting and finishing a series OR reading three or more books in a series.

So, all we need is a Halloween book and a book > 500 pages to get all of the bonus points.

Book: Attachments
Author: Rainbow Rowell
How it fits: Standalone
Read: Oct 2
Rating: 5 stars
Review: I found this book to be so very sweet. I felt like I was watching a 90s RomCom, I was picturing Rachel and Monica. Perfect book at the perfect time. I'm not going to lie you know the whole reading others emails as a job and then falling for one the people who's emails you're reading is well creepish but sweet too. Falling for someone for who then are, while they aren't trying because in personal emails to friends you're not trying. So no visual and just seeing a person stripped down in just word form can be very romantic. Us bookworms know how that is, we fall for characters based on words everyday.

How it fits: #21 of In Death series
Read: 10/2/18
Rating: 5 stars
I think this might be my favorite one so far. It starts off one way, that doesn't click with how the story officially begins. But it's all tied together. There are layers upon layers to the story. And, as always, I love watching how Eve's mind unfolds the crime. This one really makes you think what the future holds...

Book: Mistress of Justice

Review
This thriller did not quite work for me. It was an ok read but I found it a bit too slow going and predictable, and the main character was a bit annoying.

SPOT 21

Book: Scarlet by Marissa Meyer
Read: 10/4/18
Rating: ★★★
How it fits: #2 of the Lunar Chronicles series
Review:
This book continued the story of Cinder while also introducing Scarlet. Scarlet's part of the story was a retelling of The Red Riding Hood. Though I liked Scarlet as a character, Wolf paled vastly in comparison. Apart from that, even though this book was supposed to be about Scarlet, the chapters I found the most interesting were the ones where we got to know how Cinder was faring. The romance between Scarlet and Wolf seemed rushed and as a result made no sense whatsoever. Atleast we got Captain Thorne, a much better and more interesting addition to the storyline than Wolf, where this book particular book is concerned. Wolf as a character might improve in the later books and he has a clear purpose in the storyline going forward. But in this book, he was less than medicore at best

Review: This book was a thrill ride from start to finish. Reminded me a whole lot of The Davinci Code or National Treasure. Two people are forced by an obsessed man to hunt for the Tomb of King Midas so he can acquire the Midas touch. Our MC's are forced because their loved ones are being held hostage. Lots of puzzles to solve and bombs to defuse. World Wide places to visit.
Really fast paced and very interesting history lesson.

Book: Cress by Marissa Meyer
Date Read: 9th Oct 2018
How it fits: Lunar Chronicles #3
Rating: 4 stars
Review:
I liked this book the best so far in this series. Probably because things are heating up in terms of plot and a lot more is going on. I also liked Cress and Thorne's side of the story a lot better than I did Scarlet and Wolf's from the earlier book. Cress felt like a natural progression of the story we've come to know from the previous books rather than a novel with a seperate new protagonist. The transition between books felt seemless

I really enjoyed the ending. It moved, swayed, and was very dramatic. The first part of the book (view spoiler) was good... I'll continue with the series to read Rue's story. Hopefully, this wll be as good as the first book.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

I loved this mystery. It had everything I want in a great mystery: interesting setting, complex characters and lots of twists and turns that kept me on the edge of my seat until the very end. I cannot wait to read more from this series.
