The one thing I worry about when my husband goes out of town is the internet. (He's the computer expert :) My husband went out of town yesterday. Sure enough, I woke up this morning to no internet. I was able to get a hold of him. He checked and our internet provider was down. I'm just glad it was nothing on our part. I was so relieved when it came back on about 45 minutes ago!
By the way, the USA went off Daylight Savings Time this morning. Our reviews are now due 11:59 pm Central Standard Time.

The Goblin Cinderella by Lidiya Foxglove 11/3/18
Rating: 3 stars
Review:
Ellara is half goblin, half elfin. This follows the fairytale pretty well but add in the fact that she is a goblin living in elven land and some erotic moments. Ellara goes to the ball just to show off to her stepsisters before she escapes the land with an old business partner of her father’s but her fairy godmother, ie. long lost aunt, has other plans. She puts a love potion on Ellara so that when she touches the prince they both are hit with instant love/lust.
The little extras to this fairy tale made this story cute and unique. I’d be interested in reading the other retellings by the author.

Good job Everyone.
Sunshine,
I’m glad you guys are okay. When we go camping and there’s no WiFi, I’m so annoyed for awhile. But then i have to remember that we used to exist without it. 😂.
But I’m glad you are back online

Bonus point that may be available: One point can be earned for reading three or more books in a series.
Sunshine (River Pack Wolves) and Lanelle (Aunty Dimtry) and Ezi (The Protectors, the Bridgertons) have read two book in a series.
So let me know if you get book 3
Sunshine: there is also a bonus for starting and finishing a series. You’ve read book 1&2. You’d need to read book 3&4 to bonus.
But I’m not putting any pressure on you AT ALL. It’s onky if it’s a series you enjoy and want to continue reading it

I can usually count on the Aunt Dimity books to be good, but this one was fabulous. And it was definitely a different kind of mystery Lori has to solve.

Review:
In order to enjoy the Skylar Foxe series, you have to be able to suspend disbelief. (I had to look that up. I wasn't sure if it was suspend disbelief or suspend belief). It is very much like a scooby doo mystery ... obvious clues, easy to solve, lots of stupidity and things that just don't make sense. Put all of that aside, and it's just silly fun.

Why do they keep recommending non romance package books to me? Jerks.
I can only think that the people responsible for that site have never actually used it.

Stalked by Kelley Armstrong - 3 Stars
This is a SS in the Otherworld series. I read the first book in the series so I'm familiar with the characters. Elena & Clay are on their honeymoon and a mutt is following them hoping to lure Elena away to be his mate.
Heorot by Jim Butcher - 4 Stars
SS in the Dresden Files series. I'm currently on #7 in the series but I didn't feel like this was a spoiler. Harry gets a call to look for a missing bride. Turns out she has been abducted by a monster to be impregnated.
Roman Holiday Or SPQ-arrrrr by Rachel Caine - 5 Stars
This was my favorite. It's actually story #2, the first being in My Big Fat Supernatural Wedding. Cecilia has wed her pirate and they are getting ready to head off on their honeymoon when the ship gets boarded by another pirate. Since she had broken the curse holding her pirate and his crew, the new pirate plans to sell her to other cursed men.
Her Mother'S Daughter by P.N. Elrod - 4 Stars
SS in the Vampire Files series. I haven't read anything in this series yet, but after this story I think I will. A bride shows up need a detective to find her husband who went missing at their wedding. She is also the daughter of a famous gangster. It takes place in the 1930's.
Newlydeads by Caitlin Kitteridge - 2.5 Stars
This is the prequel in the Black London series. Even though it was written a few years before the actual series was written, I think it's one of those stories that should have been read after you've read at least the first book. I haven't read this series and I wasn't that excited with this story. The ending made it a little better but I didn't really care for the characters.
Where The Heart Lives by Marjorie M Liu - 2.5 Stars
SS in the Dirk & Steele series. It's labeled as book #6.5 but the story actually notes it's a prequel to the series. Nothing stood out to me in this story. I haven't read the series and maybe if I had I'd understand it more, but it was just a story of a girl that could see a missing bride in the forest when no others could.
Cat Got Your Tongue by Katie Macaliter - 4 Stars
SS in the Dark Ones series. Another series I haven't read but I liked the story. Joy & Raphael are on their honeymoon and are staying in a haunted castle. The Green Lady ghost asks them to help her destroy the laird's stone, but that turns out to cause problems for Raphael, who is unknowingly a descendant of the cursed Summerton's.
Half Of Being Married by Lilith St. Crow - 4 Stars
Don't know if this is part of a series. I have read one series by this author, but only thought it was ok. Kat is a vampire hunter who is new at being in the field and her husband, Mitchell, is a werewolf (but don't let him hear you call it that). Neither know about the other until, on their honeymoon, they come across a vampire and both go to kill it. What follows is jabs at Fido and an investigation into the vampire's lair.
A Wulf In Grooms Clothing by Ronda Thompson - 4 Stars
SS in the Wild Wulfs of London series. Laura & Sam go to his cabin for their honeymoon. What Laura doesn't know is that Sam was cursed to be a werewolf once he fell in love. Simple, sweet story.

Book: A Protectors Family Christmas by Sloane Kennedy
Pages: 168
Qualification: #5.5 on the Protectors Series
Read: 11/6
Rating & Review: ★★★
There was TOO MUCH going on in this one. Literally all the couples were making an appearance. I was confused a lot in the beginning trying to recall the specifics of each character’s love story.
We have an engagement, another coupke’s wedding, another couple’s big for fostering/adoption, family gathering, a lost young man.
I was most interested in Ronan and Seth’s storyline with the brother and sister who didn’t speak. There was more story to be told there but it wasn’t developed as well because the author had to give time to all the other couples.
I also liked that Caleb was finally getting attention because I knew that the thing with Jace wasn’t going away. I look forward to their book as well as Pop-pop (Magnus) and Dante.

Review: Finally on to book 5. This book was amazing!!! Koriani is pure evil in this one. It is interesting how they make a double for Arithon to use as a decoy. I hate how Arithon and Elaira team up and continue to build their relationship. The author just keeps on building up the tension between the brothers and making the story more interesting. 10/10 stars. I love it.

Review: I am finally on the 6th book in this series. I love how the author keeps making the books more interesting as we continue along in the series. I kind of hope that they don't end up fighting but make peace and begin to get along. I am also kind of hoping that they end up fighting just to get it over with. I still hate Koriani and how evil she is. We still have 4 books to go, but I feel like we are about to hit the climax. 10/10 stars. Love this book.

Review: This is my favorite genre, historical romantic suspense. But it's tricky for the author to pull off - the societal norms need to remain in place. Such as; chaperones! (My biggest complaint.) Young ladies simply did not just go wherever and whenever they felt like, especially without a chaperone. They would have been ruined. While I enjoyed the story, the author didn't stick with how life was back then.

Review
This pretty much picks up where the first book left off only now Mason & Jessie are the MC's.
Mason is a known playbear while Jessie is literately a swan princess. Since the FUC, (Furry United Coalition), discovered the evil mastermind behind the kidnapping of shifters wasn't killed in the fire at the end of book 1, Mason & Jessie get stuck working together to track him down. Jessie soon finds herself falling for the bear, even though she knows she will just be a notch in his bedpost and have her heart broken. Mason, on the other hand, finds himself falling in love with the swan and needs to prove to her that he wants no one else ever again.
These stories and short and sweet, but also hilarious to boot. I love all the nicknames, innuendos and puns. Eve is definitely a new favorite for when I'm in the mood for a quick, funny, steamy read.

Rating & Review: ♥️♥️♥️
This was my least favorite Bridgerton book. This Bridgerton lady didn’t inherit her family’s moxie!
Michael was nursing a crush on his cousin/best friend Count Of Kilmartin’s fiancée Francesca Bridgerton. He was happy for his cousin John but he knew in his soul that Francesca was his soulmate. Watching John and Fran marry and then constantly being the third wheel was so hard that he turned to women and drink to numb his pain. When his cousin suddenly died, Michael inherited Kilmartin.
Franny and Michael were so close even when John was alive. So I don’t understand 4 years after John’s death, why Franny kept Michael at bay after his proposal of Marriage. It was clear to everyone especially big brother Colin that Franscesa has feeling for Michael. But Fran was steadfast in her refusal to marry him with such flimsy excuses despite remaining in the house as the Countess Of Kilmartin as well as willingly/eagerly sharing Michael’s bed.
The push and pull of the prior romances were cute, believable and enjoyable. Fran and Michael’s angst felt uncomfortable, baffling and frankly anti-climatic when it finally happened.
Francesca’s book should have come before Eloise’s book because it’s hard to stomach a wish-washy heroine after such a decisive and verbal heroine like Eloise Bridgerton.
And finally. WHY did they change narrators from Rosalyn Landor to this man? He wasn’t bad but she killed it so I had gotten used to her flow and delivery. Actually he was a good narrator but after five books I had grown accostumed to her voice.

I've found a lengthy series that I haven't read yet. It's the Mrs. Jeffries series by Emily Brightwell. There are currently 36 books, with #37 being published next year. I'm trying to gather as many of the books as possible before the next SS/SSS.
