"There was a time in my life when all I read was Victoria Holt, Mary Stewart, and Charlotte Armstrong. I have read The Secret Woman but so long ago I don't remember the storyline but I know she never wrote I book I didn't love.
I finished The Brothers Karamazov by Fyodor Dostoyevsky last night and then started The Blessing Way by Tony Hillerman and The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald. I just have a couple more books to finish the Ultimate Challenge and then I'll be able to get back to cozies.

LOved that book. Also her We Have Always Lived in the Castle.
Writing letters to friends. Seeing what books I will be reading next and stacking them accordingly. And hoping I have time to read them!!
I have a couple of books on the go, but working on
a psychological thriller, and
a romance with a magic twist.
I've decided on historical fiction, such as Sherlock Holmes type mysteries. But main characters as females. I have a few here at home. But may go to book store and see what is new out.
Finished The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett
I have seen the movie many times and decided to read the book.
I just finished reading The Choice. It was okay but I liked The Notebook and Nights in Rodanthe more.I'm reading a thriller now, On Target.
I am reading a couple right now,
and
I finished
and I liked it. My review is here: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

Thanks, Laura. Unfortunately, I have not had much time to spend with it this week, and the weekend does not look promising, either. :-/

I just finished Dark Heir by Faith Hunter which is an urban fantasy. I personally love this series and a lot of other urban fantasy. They're really fast paced and exciting, plus they usually have a little romance in them to spice things up a bit. :)

I finished Pride and Prejudice this weekend and started Paradise Lost (the last book I need for the Ultimate Reading Challenge).
Right now I'm reading Far from the Madding Crowd by Thomas Hardy. I am reading it for the Ultimate Reading Challenge but am also slowly falling in love with it at the same time. If you haven't read it yet and you like reading classics, I highly suggest this one.

I started reading it a few months ago for a classic group read, got about halfway through . . . and stalled. I do hope to get back to it some day, but it's not likely to happen any time soon.

I'm about halfway through right now and I can understand how you can stall out on reading it. For me I have moments where I have to reread a paragraph just to make sure I'm understanding exactly what Hardy is trying to say. But I am enjoying it so far and one of the main reasons is because it's so different from what I normally read. It's a nice change.
Just finished reading American Bloomsbury: Louisa May Alcott, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Margaret Fuller, Nathaniel Hawthorne, and Henry David Thoreau: Their Lives, Their Loves, Their Work
by Susan Cheeverhttps://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Still working on Villette. Finished Vol 2 last night and read the first chapter of Vol 3. Part two went a lot faster than the first -- owing, I believe, to there being more action. Here's hoping the third and final section goes even faster than the second. I'd like to read more than one book this month. :-\
Just finished reading Phantom Evil
by Heather Graham. I really usually enjoy Heather's work, but this isn't one of her best.https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I've also been listening to The Girl Who Played with Fire
by Stieg Larsson

I loved The Girl Who Played With Fire on audio. It was all Lisbeth all the time and I am a huge Lisbeth fan so that helped :)

I haven't read one of her's since Unhallowed Ground, which was a huge disappointment, primarily due to lack of editing. I only finished because I wanted to know how it ended, but felt like the publisher owed me my money back for selling an unfinished product.

Just starting The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency
. I have had this book for quite a while, but just have not been interested in reading it until now.
