Finished The Tenant of Wildfell Hall on Tuesday. Excellent though sometimes emotional read.

Lacey (she2beautiful) | 13659 comments I'm starting on The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (Millennium, #1) by Stieg Larsson for the Sugarpop challenge. I don't know if I'll even be able to get through the whole thing depending on how it's written, but I'm optimistic so far. It's a monster of a book at over 600 pages but I'm hoping that excellent writing will keep me reading it.

I really didn't like that book. I read the 2nd as so many of my friends loved this series and it was marginally better, but I had to force myself to finish it. That was reason enough for me not to read the 3rd one!

I liked it but think it could have been edited down (I think they didn't because the author had passed away). I will add that the book is much better on audio than in print IMO. Also - I loved the second book :)

I think they are cozies but a bit light on the mystery. I enjoy them anyway.

I'm reading Code Name Pauline: Memoirs of a World War II Special Agent and still reading Interview with the Vampire which got interrupted for a time because I decided to read Wild Tales: A Rock & Roll Life. It was interesting to read about one of my favorite bands, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, who seemed to only perform well when high!!?? Hasn't changed my opinion about their music.

Lacey (she2beautiful) | 13659 comments I just started reading Cress (The Lunar Chronicles, #3) by Marissa Meyer by Marissa Meyer... I've had a stream of bad luck lately with books I haven't enjoyed at all so I'm going with a tried and true author in Marissa Meyer. She's one of my favorites. The book will also count towards my Sugarpop Ultimate Book Challenge.

Julesy | 1411 comments I started Blood Orchids (Lei Crime, #1) by Toby Neal Blood Orchids this morning. I'm only a few chapters in but I guess this is considered a thriller/mystery. I haven't read anything terribly gory or bloody yet but there are 2 dead bodies. This is a new to me series and I like it so far.

Started two books over the weekend, one a cozy and the other is Skin and Other Stories by Roald Dahl -- a group read for another group. Read the first two stories, will pick up one or two more after the cozy I'm reading.

I enjoyed the Christian theme in the book. Even though there are a lot of challenges faced by the pastor, who is the main character - It has sort of a warm whimsical feeling through the book. It was a good example of patience, and faith. Not freaking out when handling life's more serious obstacles. Appropriate for men and women, boys and girls of all ages.

Started The Return of the Soldier by Rebecca West last night for a classic group read. I'm 1-1/5 chapters from the end, and probably would have finished it last night, had I not started it after 7pm and had to get up early today for work. Will certainly finish it later tonight. Darn day job...

Julesy | 1411 comments I am listening to The Good Girl by Mary Kubica but I don't like it as much as others seem to. I liked Kubica's other mystery better.

I also decided to start the second Lei Crime book Torch Ginger (Lei Crime, #2) by Toby Neal since I loved Blood Orchids (Lei Crime, #1) by Toby Neal so much. So far Torched Ginger is quite different from Blood Orchids but I still like it.
