Read-a-Thon #3 - Team 2 Group Discussion
Lieke wrote: "The link between the covers on our first board is [spoilers removed]"YEAH! I am so glad you solved this... don't know that I would ever have gotten there.
Laura wrote: "Yes, I mentioned in an earlier comment that I was adding covers in my groups since I realized as I removed squares, it was totally giving the away the book. I did the same in team 4. I just thought..."More squares to uncover on Board2

What does the team think a "reject" prompt is? My thought is that it is a prompt that was voted DOWN in the voting for next year's ATY prompts.
Completed The Book of Lies 334 pages.Doesn't seem to fit into any specific category, unless it works for a reject--which I haven't figured out how to check yet.
Completed Good Omens>/u>. It is a ATY book and would fit as a library book or a book set in another country which is where I am placing it.356 pages, 181 of which had been previously recorded.

Here's a link to the "rejected" topics so far in the voting for the 2019 prompts.
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/...
Let me know if you can use one of these. In the meantime I will add in your pages.
Yes, Edie, you're correct with the rejects.
There are also prompts from the 2016-2018 process so plenty of options: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

Edie--The Book of Lies was a New York Times bestseller which is #57 on the spreadsheet of rejected topics.
Finished My Lady's Choosing: An Interactive Romance Novel, 352 pages, yes for aty, would work well for 10. Read a romance book or 11. Borrowed from the library.
Since it puts me in mind of it, I'll recommend one of my favorite book to movie adaptations: the 1995 BBC version of Sense and Sensibility. It completely changed how I felt about the book; I hated the book when we had to read it in high school, but when I finally saw the movie in college I liked the story a lot better.

Thanks Jackie,
I used your book to check off the "Romance" square, leaving the "from the Library" prompt still open.
I finished reading Wonder for another 316 pages. It had a child main character and I highly recommended it!
Awesome. That pushes over the 5,000 pages read mark and checks off another of the book related prompts. Wonder is on my TBR list. I will have to move it up the list for reading.
Erica wrote: "I finished reading Wonder for another 316 pages. It had a child main character and I highly recommended it!"Did you cry? I did!!!! A lot!!! Such a sweet book :)
Sorry I haven't checked in for a few days. I completed Gettysburg, which is a children's non fiction.I also completed an hour of audiobook from Lincoln on the Bardo.
Totals: 3 books completed
Audio 1 HR
Pages 490
I have voted in all the 2019 polls so far,
Favorite book to movie: Princess Bride
I'm having an issue with the image uploading site. If the image doesn't appear for you then you should be able to still see it if you click 'Full Size Image' underneath.
Laura wrote: "I'm having an issue with the image uploading site. When I click on full size I get a dark, empty space, no grid.

I loved Lincoln in the Bardo. I would think listening to it would be good... if you can keep the voices straight. I found myself having to go back to see who this person was.
Glad to see your Princess Bride recommendation That is one of my favorite movies, but I have never read the book. I just got it from the library.
I'm not sure what the issue is since it's working on my computer. I will trouble shoot more when I get home from work at about 4PM EST.
I think book 6 of board 2 is (view spoiler)
book 3 (top right corner) of board 2 is (view spoiler)

I wish I could figure out what book 5 is! I'm sure I've seen it somewhere!

Finished Saga, Vol. 2, 160 pages, not for aty. Borrowed from the library.
Reminder to read a poem and tell us what you read, and also to post your favorite book to movie adaptation if you haven't done those already!
Also, poll #10 should be ready either late tonight or more likely tomorrow so go vote! It's an easier way to participate in making next year's list.

Hi team. I've read 151 pages since last check-in and finished Mrs. Dalloway but it doesn't appear to fit any of the remaining prompts.I've also participated in all the games so far and in the 2019 list making process.
My favorite book to movie adaptation is a bit of a cliche but it's The Godfather. One of very few movies that I believe is better than the novel.

Thanks. I have updated your stats.

Thank you. Another box checked. Also, I appreciate the reminder to everyone to participate in the games. I had no connectivity most of today, but I did get a lot of reading done on my book with a beautiful cover! Should finish it tomorrow.
Laura wrote: "The second board should now be visible."YES, it is. Please uncover 11 on Board 2. Thanks.
I just finished Scott Pilgrim, Volume 2: Scott Pilgrim vs. The World. It was 200 pages so it brings my page count to 528. I decided to read it because its the second volume in the series that is my favorite book to movie adaptation. The movie Scott Pilgrim vs. The World is actually named after this book even though it covers things that happen in several books throughout the series.
I've also listened to a little over 2 hours of To All the Boys I've Loved Before so that can be added to the audiobook total.
Laura wrote: "Updating the board now. Good guess on the theme, Jackie, but that's not it :)"I am counting it!
Brittany wrote: "I just also voted on the 10th poll if that counts."You bet. Your vote helps decide what the list will look like for next year.
For my poem I read (listened to) Maya Angelou's "I Rise" It complements The Heart of a Woman by Angelou which has a beautiful cover and I should finish today.
Erin wrote: "I tend to actively avoid adaptations because I don't want them to ruin books I've loved if they aren't good. It is hard to capture the richness of a great book into 2 hours or less. And the casting can be at odds with the characters you imagined as you read.
Brittany wrote: "I've also listened to a little over 2 hours of To All the Boys I've Loved Before so that can be added to the audiobook total."Thanks Brittany! I added all this to the spreadsheet.
Laura wrote: "Updating the board now. Good guess on the theme, Jackie, but that's not it :)"Hi Laura, Please uncover #2, 3 and 19 on Board2
Laura, did I get all the books right? Because that would be helpful for trying to get that theme.
