Silvia Turcios | 1058 comments I participated in the 10th poll (voting and commenting, because I was too late to suggest :D)

My favorite adaptation book to movie is Sense and Sensibility (the version with Alan Rickman and Emma Thompson)

I finished with my book Renegades
Total pages 556, but I had already reported 250, so we can add 306 pages to my pages count and one book to my book count.
This is ATY book, but it looks like we are already done with that. There is romance too and has a beautiful cover, but I think those are also done .... I think we don't have many categories left :P.

Anyway, I read these three picture books, for the category 13 of the Board 2(Read 10 picture or children’s books (3 per member)). I hope these can be included:
Luna Loves Library Day
With Your Paw in Mine
Cinnamon

I also played Books by Emoji ... which was hard!!!

message 202: by Silvia (new)

Silvia Turcios | 1058 comments Oh, and I forgot, I started reading Anne of Avonlea, which has many trees on the cover, in case that is pending. And it's ATY.

Page count for this one at the moment: 50

I read Adulthood Is a Myth, 109 pages, not for aty; and This One Summer, 320 pages, not for aty.

I'm not sure what challenges are still left...I don't know that these fit anything left.

Samantha (sgiffin) | 146 comments Hi all, sorry I haven't had much chance to check in or read this week. Work was busier than anticipated. But today I've finished another 5 hours of Audiobook, and should get to the 9 hour mark tonight. Pretty sure the book won't work for anything (red book cover is already used).

My favorite book to movie adaptation is Jurassic Park because BOTH the book and the movie are AMAZING (different from one another too, but in the best ways).

Your latest book read got us to 30 books finished and your childrens' books put us within 3 books of completing that prompt. Our team rocks.

No worries Samantha. Life happens and you have been a star in the audiobook area. This is a team and every bit helps. If you finish your book, you will help us reach the 40 books read.

message 207: by Rachelnyc (new)

Rachelnyc | 943 comments Ok so if I'm reading it correctly, all of the individual book prompts aside from F-A-L-L in the title are covered, is that correct?

I read 143 pages of The Color Purple today so my total for the read-a-thon is now 669.

I also read the poem The Moon and the Yew Tree by Sylvia Plath which was beautiful and haunting and I participated in the emoji game.

I believe so. I’m reading Love, Hate & Other Filters which would fit that prompt. If work is slower tonight I’m hoping I’ll finish it.

We still need to have 4 picture or children's books read to finish that prompt. Plus the F-A-L-L prompt.

message 210: by Brittany (new)

Brittany Morrison | 478 comments The F-A-L-L prompt just wanted a title with all of those letters included, right? If so I finished Love, Hate & Other Filters. It was 288 pages.

message 211: by Lieke (last edited Sep 01, 2018 04:25AM) (new)

Lieke | 697 comments I finished reading Queen of Shadows, this adds 648 pages to my page total. Not sure if we can use it in any category.

I also read the last 10 pages in Notes on Nationalism.

message 212: by Lieke (new)

Lieke | 697 comments I voted for the 10th poll and I want to come up with a good book to movie adaptation that is not well known but my head is empty. I love the Poirot series, haven't seen the new movie. But the series with David Suchet is great, does that count?

Now I will try to read some children's books and listen to audio books 😊

Judging by the discussion, you've completed #10 and 19 on board 2, correct?

message 214: by Edie (new)

Edie | 1144 comments Good Morning Team. As you finish books, please let me know if they fit any prompts...even prompts that we have already checked off. Having multiple books listed for a prompt works for me. And I love seeing where what you all are reading fits.

message 215: by Silvia (new)

Silvia Turcios | 1058 comments I played Character Scramble

Great Brittany! Another prompt checked off. Thanks.

message 218: by Sara (last edited Sep 01, 2018 09:01AM) (new)

Sara (phantomswife) Completed Lie Down in Darkness by William Styron. 400 pages. This makes 4 books completed for me, Edie. I will use this at an ATY entry.

Played character scramble and books by emoji (great fun).

A book to movie conversion I love is Poldark. Couldn't be cast better and they have stayed with the story as written.

I have voted in the 10th Mini-Poll, which will qualify for 2019 list participation.

message 220: by Kathy Jo (new)

Kathy Jo (kjsotr) | 304 comments Good afternoon! I completed Lincoln in the Bardo for 7 hours of audiobook. It was borrowed from the library and for ATY.

Total books finished: 4, all for ATY

Is the theme of board 2 (view spoiler)

message 222: by Silvia (new)

Silvia Turcios | 1058 comments Jackie wrote: "Is the theme of board 2 [spoilers removed]"

I thought the same, but I was not sure because one of them is more than 273 pages and I don't know if that fits ... but I hope you are right with your guess, because I have not been able to find anything else :)

message 223: by Samantha (new)

Samantha (sgiffin) | 146 comments Completed my 9 hours of audiobook with Odysseus Awakening! Now I'll start counting pages for the rest of this book and then try to finish an actual physical book (or two) this weekend.

Also, I think I've got a couple of children's books I can run through.

Great Samantha! Only one more children's book to go. I have been trying to read one to my granddaughter, but so far she has wanted to do other things.

message 227: by Rachelnyc (new)

Rachelnyc | 943 comments I read 171 pages and finished The Color Purple, which was amazing!

If we're still tracking prompts, it would fit romance element and also borrowed from library.

After several dark and depressing books, I am going to find something light and breezy that I can finish by Monday.

message 228: by Kathy Jo (new)

Kathy Jo (kjsotr) | 304 comments I finished Holes, which could be a children's book. 233 pages.
My goal for ATY is to read some of the books my son and I own that I have never read.

Totals: 5 books completed, all for ATY
Audio 7 HR
Pages 723

Looks like some of the "everybody" prompts aren't done yet. If everybody votes in the poll and reads a poem, we can check those off pretty easily!

We are now doubling up on prompts, and I put this in romance. Have you read Dorothy Must Die? It turns the Wizard of OZ upside down... and Dorothy is wicked. It's a YA series, so although it is darkish, I found it lots of fun.

Kathy Jo,

I listed this on the children's books prompts, although can get to 10 without it. So, unlike the other children's books which I didn't count in the book or pages count, I am counting Holes there. For the team effort, only two ATY words count, but you've made great progress on the ATY challenge. You are right, we are just a couple of responses away from finishing off several of the "everyone participates" prompts.

message 235: by Rachelnyc (new)

Rachelnyc | 943 comments I read 109 pages of a terrible book but I am determined to finish it by the end of the day tomorrow!

I also played the character scramble and scattegories so I should be caught up with all of the games.

message 236: by Sara (new)

Sara (phantomswife) Sorry, but no reading time today and I'm too tired to even read before bed tonight. However, I did take time to play the scattegories game.

message 237: by Lieke (new)

Lieke | 697 comments I finished The Distance of the Moon, which adds another 56 pages to my total. I don't know if we can use it in any category since it was only 56 pages long.

Silvia Turcios | 1058 comments I played Infinite Book Challenge.

I finished with The Twilight Children, a graphic novel , which can double count for Graphic Novel and Finish a book or story in one sitting.

I finished also with Anne of Avonlea, 250 pages more to my page count and can double count for ATY, borrowed from the library or children’s book.

Did you come up with a book title for the book/movie adaptation? Sorry if you submitted something and I missed it. Thanks for doing all the challenges. I assume this will be the last one, so we can check that prompt off too.

Yes, I did. It was Sense and Sensibility (version with Alan Rickman and Emma Thompson) :)

message 242: by Edie (last edited Sep 03, 2018 07:31PM) (new)

Edie | 1144 comments Laura,

Team 2 has made it to 40 books reads. Please uncover 24.

Also, assuming the the Infinite Book Challenge is the final channel of the Readathon, we have had someone participate in every challenge uncovering #17. Also, #23 since everyone has participated in the ATY list selection process.

Thank you for all the time you have spent making this Readathon a lot of fun.

Silvia Turcios | 1058 comments Edie, I checked the spreadsheet and the persons that are missing with the book to movie adaptation are Lieke and Erica, however I found that Lieke mentioned something about the adaptation in the comment 224. I haven't checked the comments from Erika yet.

Did we get the poem one done too?

I finished reading Alif the Unseen today, 433 pages, for aty. Pretty good book; I'd recommend it to people who like an interplay of modern life with magical elements.

I saw that comment. She mentioned some kind of series, but it didn't seem to me to be a specific movie.

Now that I am back with good connectivity, I checked Erica's comments and didn't see a mention of a book or participation in the 2019 ATY list planning.

Three team members didn't submit a poem... so no, that one is not done.

message 248: by Edie (last edited Sep 03, 2018 03:39PM) (new)

Edie | 1144 comments Completed The Briefing: Politics, the Press and the President. An additional 200 pages not previously counted. This is non-fiction, from the library and an ATY book. In ATY I am using it for the "word born the year you were" prompt. I had lots of trouble finding something for this, since my birth year seemed to feature military terms and chemicals. However, "press secretary" was "born" that year and this book fit that perfectly.

message 249: by Erica (new)

Erica | 555 comments I read a bunch of Shel Silverstein poems, including Invitation.

Favorite screen adaptation is The Princess Bride.

I voted in this week’s poll for 2019.

I haven’t been able to participate in all the games though. Sorry, babies just keep me too busy.

So close to finishing another book but it’s already Tuesday here.

message 250: by Erica (new)

Erica | 555 comments You can add another 500 pages to my total, but I didn’t finish anymore books.
