What type of planning are we going to do for TWT and the spellout?
Not sure as yet. I think we should prioritize TWT and the spellout will come with time. It looks like info has been posted but I'm at work and haven't had a chance to look at it. I was planning to be on tonight to do a big update anyway so I'll be reviewing and doing some maths about where we get our biggest points gains and we can make a plan from there! 😁
OMG I was writing a huge thing and then I tilted my phone and it erased everything.So long story short - let's look at what people are planning to read this week (including books you've already started but won't finish until August 1st) and see where we can fit them into tasks. Then we can start filling out the 9 tasks we want to start with.
We have to complete 9 tasks before we can start working on any other tasks, so if you don't think you can commit to to finishing a book this week - keep reading for letters.

I filled in a bunch more characters today, we are now DONE with all the primary and major characters!
I also filled in 8 of the 28 just plain characters. I'm starting with the shorter names and working my way up to the longer ones (long story short, we get slightly more points per book in the shorter names).

Tri-Wizard
Please check the rules and Team Tasks for the Tri-Wizard Tournament!
The Tri-Wizard Tournament Tasks are organized as follows: Each of the seven Harry Potter books has five tasks assigned to it, and each task has 4 books assigned to it. In order to complete the tournament, we need to choose three books and then choose three tasks within each of those books.
This will give us 36 tasks to complete and these need to be our priority and I think we should aim to complete them by the end of next weekend (Aug 5). Until we have completed our 9 tasks (3 tasks from 3 different books) we will not earn any points. Though we can earn additional points by completing additional tasks in the Tournament, we can not do so until we've completed our required 9.
To help us, I've started a sheet for brainstorming/planning The Tri-Wizard Tasks (TW Planning on our spreadsheet) and started filling in books people have said they would be reading in the next week and what tasks they fit for. Right now books are in there multiple times, as I'm just trying to get an idea of which direction we should go. It seems like Prisoner of Azkaban and Chamber of Secrets have the most possibilities for us right now - but we can decide tomorrow once we get a better idea of what else people are reading this week! :)
I'm working double jobs Tuesday and Wednesday, but I'll be checking in as much as possible to answer questions.

Sounds good! I was working on narrowing down tasks but Goodreads was being super cranky and I ended up getting in bed instead. It loks like Chamber of Secrets is a good place to start as we have a good chunk of books we could use there. I highlighted the most likely three candidates in yellow on the planning sheet. It will at least give us a place to start!
