BINGO R16 | Discussion Thread
I'm a BsB virgin, waving hello from Australia. I was on the back up list last round but sadly wasn't needed. Looking forward to all things BsB.
Missed you too, Cheryl :)Loriidae, you'll do fine, from one Aussie to another :D
Marisa, you did better than great last round, glad you're back for more!
And yay to Kathleen & Delitealex as well :D
I've been obsessively watching my Goodreads mailbox, waiting for notification of another round, lol. I'm so excited to get started! :)
I already have an insane urge to start chanting "Shelf! Shelf! Shelf!"I know, I know. I don't even know my team yet.
I'm so excited! I randomly thought of how much I liked this challenge in December and since then I haven't been able to get it out of my head! I've been continuously checking the group for updates since.Of course you announce this when I'm in the midst of a ton of other challenges! But I'll manage somehow.
Kathleen wrote: "@Victoria: Lol. Are you doing UNO also?"yep! I'm doing UNO and AMMPs Fairytale challenges
Melissa wrote: "UNO?!?! I need more information about this, please!!!"haha it's an annual three month challenge on The Perks of Being a Book Addict group and a lot of fun! (can be found here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...)
Unfortunately all the teams are formed and already in the second month so you can't join this year, but I think you can still sign up as a reserve player if you're interested.

Melissa wrote: "For sure! Sounds like fun! Maybe next year!"They can probably assign you as a back-up player. A few have dropped lately.
I signed up & requested to be on reserve :) We are a bunch of card playing fools at my house, so reading + cards = made for me. Although ... I really can't wait for BINGO to start! Last round was my first time & it was so much fun! I read a ton of books that I wouldn't have otherwise. I always like finding new things!
I LOVE hearing how excited everyone is to play BSB! Thanks for joining us, everyone! Happy to see some newbies, as well. No worries, it's easy to play and it'll hopefully be fun while helping you whittle down your TBR stacks.*Missed you too, Cheryl :)
Laura wrote: "No new babies this time around? Is the little one about a year, or has it been longer than that since we played together? :)"Good memory! Yes, my youngest will turn one on the 19th. I can't believe he's already that old!
And no new babies this time, lol. Three boys ages three and under is proving to be quite enough for me, lol.

hope you get a chance to play and have fun =)

It's never too early to start chanting! :)

LOL, me, too. My strategy is just to read the same book for multiple challenges.
SOS's Bookshelf BINGO is my very favorite (even though goodreads has changed shelf stuff). Addicted.
I'm in a new one over on booklikes that sounds like headed into the territory of Clue, a murder mystery game called "Kill Your Darlings" with today the first actual round/playdate. That link was to game posts, the group portion is at http://booklikes.com/thread/3324/kyd-... (add your name to Head Count thread if interested). I love Clue so am likely to love this game or hate it once it gets underway and rules get finalized. I was already confused about today being round one. On the other hand, I've already easily picked books for the clue cards.

That game does sound like fun! And oh so tempting, but I promised myself I wouldn't add anymore challenges after SOS Bingo. (but it's a murder mystery... I love murder mysteries!)
*sigh but i can't :( I'm reasonably good at connecting one book to fit multiple challenges, but some tasks are just too specific and I end up having to read multiple books. Best not to stretch my luck too far with all these challenges.

I always remember babies! My love of babies is out of control! But I take care of babies/toddlers in the church nursery every other Sunday. That's how I've managed to keep my own down to 6. :)
Of course mine are all girls, but I can assure you that adding that fourth is a breeze. Although we did wait almost 2 years. #4 was born about 3 1/2 weeks before #3 turned 2.
(Is a sleep-deprived mom of 3, 3 & under, able to follow all the numbers in that previous sentence?) :)
Lol, I've actually been up since 2:45 with a 3 year old who refused to sleep so my brain is feeling pretty fuzzy!
Sandra wrote: "Hahaha that's not long after I went to bed, but I don't have kiddos for an excuse :)"I'm lucky if I make it past 9:00 most nights, lol. That's not all because of the kids though. I get up at 4:00 to get some work done before everybody wakes up. So when my son woke up at 2:45 and wasn't showing any signs of going back to bed anytime soon, I knew I was in for a long day, lol.
4am is a killer Steph Ann, I used to get up at 5.30am when the hubby was going to work (he's recently retired), and that's certainly early enough for me.You must be an early bird whereas I'm a night owl :D

Congratulations to you hubby on his retirement. I do hope that means you get to sleep in a bit.
Yay to retirement! :D DH and I are definitely night owls as well. Better be an emergency or a flight to somewhere nice if I'm waking up that early! LOL!
Signups for Round 16 of BookShelf Bingo will be closing today. Please signup now if you'd like to join us. The game will begin Wed, 7 Mar. If you'd like to be on our standby player list, please let us know at any point.

With both the new The Others novel and the new Charles & Anna (Alpha & Omega) coming out on Tuesday, I wonder if I can wait? Do we have to wait until Wednesday to start our Free Space book?
Moondance wrote: "Congratulations to you hubby on his retirement. I do hope that means you get to sleep in a bit."Thanks Cheryl, I definitely am enjoying the sleep ins. Hubby is finding out the joys of not having to go to bed on time too. He's becoming a movie & tv series fanatic :)

Now that's just mean. :D I hear you Laura. I am in the same position,

Sorry but there is no way in the world I can wait a day to read Lake Silence. I should be able to save Burn Bright, but I've been waiting for Lake Silence too long to wait even a day.
