So I found a low key group for Popsugar that had an AMAZING group spreadsheet, and I felt inspired....

Because I'm bored/off of work/don't feel like lesson planning, I put together this ATY community spreadsheet. It's a quick way to see what everyone is reading in every prompt AND you can see how many people are completing the challenge!

I thought it would be fun. If you're interested in getting in on it, check it out here.

The stats along the prompts show how many people who have listed their name on this doc have finished the prompt, and the stats at the bottom show the percentage complete for each individual. Feel free to add your name and your books, but try to keep it to only books you've actually completed (but you can link your plan in the notes at the bottom!)

Tracy (tracyisreading) | 2573 comments Fun!!!! I added mine so far.

Bahaha...don't feel like lesson planning....my lesson planning today consisted of asking another instructor to email me her powerpoint for my upcoming chapter since its one I haven't done yet. Then I found out she bummed it off of ANOTHER instructor because it was one SHE hadn't taught yet, lol. Cheers to file sharing :-)

I did read the slides though and double check a few facts so I don't make an ass out of myself in lecture tomorrow.....

I've made a fool out of myself when it's my own powerpoints haha! Luckily, I'm off all week so I have some time to finish up planning this unit and still squeeze in a book or two!

I’m in Louisiana and we have a full week off for Mardi Gras, so I get a nice little break before the long haul to Easter.

Thanks for checking out my blog! Arthur is a miniature schnauzer ☺️

Awwww. I used to have a mini Schnauzer, she was white. Her name was Gretyl. Best dog ever!! My new one is a Wheaten terrier (ist). He's out of his mind lol. Little furball.

Ah yay! I'm glad y'all like it and are joining in!

message 10: by Kathy (new)

Kathy E | 3308 comments Nice spreadsheet! It's fun to see everyone's reads in one place. I've added myself.

message 11: by Anna (new)

Anna | 1007 comments Emily, does one just start adding books, or does one have to register or something?

message 12: by Emily, Conterminous Mod (new)

Emily Bourque (emilyardoin) | 11184 comments Mod
You can just start posting! Put your name in the top box of a column and go from there. It's a Google Sheet, so it will save as you type!

I love watching the stats too... and I'm tempted to go read the prompts that haven't been read yet, just to clear off that zero haha

message 21: by Jill (new)

Jill | 725 comments I love spreadsheets! I have added my books. Thanks for setting this up, Emily!

message 22: by Lizzy (new)

Lizzy | 907 comments Funny, isn't it that the only prompt that no one has read for in the spread sheet is the book that intimidates.... Our books must be really intimidating!

message 23: by Tracy (new)

Tracy (tracyisreading) | 2573 comments Im avoiding mine lol.....

message 24: by Emily, Conterminous Mod (new)

Emily Bourque (emilyardoin) | 11184 comments Mod
I noticed that today too! haha! Mine will probably be a summer read when I can just lay outside and read all day... I'm aiming for a book longer than 700 pages, so it will take some time!

message 25: by Brooke (new)

Brooke | 242 comments I added the books I've read & counted so far! How fun.

message 26: by Jody (new)

Jody (jodybell) | 3477 comments Lol ... well I’m reading in order, so that’s my excuse and I’m sticking to it!! Definitely not because Ulysses bloody terrifies me. Nope.

message 27: by Tracy (new)

Tracy (tracyisreading) | 2573 comments OMG I can't believe you're waiting until the end to start that Jody.....Good luck

message 28: by Jody (new)

Jody (jodybell) | 3477 comments I do wish that prompt wasn't so close to the end of the challenge, because I'd kinda like to get it over and done with! I'll probably start on it in a few months, on Serial Reader, just to chip away at it. As long as I finish it after Book 44 and before I finish Book 46, that's in order for me. 😂

message 29: by Tracy (new)

Tracy (tracyisreading) | 2573 comments good plan....I need to start working on mine again. I think I read about a hundred pages last month, haven't touched it since

message 30: by Heather (new)

Heather | 236 comments It won’t let me add mine! I will try again later because I’ve completed 6 to 8 weeks already

Heather wrote: "It won’t let me add mine! I will try again later because I’ve completed 6 to 8 weeks already"

That's so strange! I'm not sure why it wouldn't be letting you... I have the sharing settings set so that anyone with the link can edit. Let me know if you're still having trouble later and I'll try to figure it out.

message 32: by Heather (new)

Heather | 236 comments Is it because I’m using the app?

message 33: by Emily, Conterminous Mod (new)

Emily Bourque (emilyardoin) | 11184 comments Mod
Heather wrote: "Is it because I’m using the app?"

Could be? If you open it in the Google Sheets app, you wouldn't have a problem. If it keeps you in the Goodreads app, that could be an issue? I haven't tried it on my phone (and I have the Google Sheets app, so when I do open it, it directs me to that app).

Try copying this link and pasting it into Safari or Google Chrome or whichever browser you use on your phone. That may solve the problem!

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/...

If that doesn't work, you may need to use a computer.

message 34: by Heather (new)

Heather | 236 comments It worked in safari I will update later other than my name. I’m headed to work now

message 35: by Heather (new)

Heather | 236 comments I updated my books right before. I also have my plan wrote on notebook paper so each week I finish I will update here too

message 37: by Pam (new)

Pam (bluegrasspam) | 3839 comments For those of us doing a double challenge, do we list both books or set up 2 columns? Or, just list one of the books?

Pam wrote: "For those of us doing a double challenge, do we list both books or set up 2 columns? Or, just list one of the books?"

I would do two separate lists -- maybe put Pam (List One) and Pam (List Two) or, if you have a theme like children's books or something like that, you could name it that way!

message 39: by Sophie (new)

Sophie (sawphie) | 2826 comments I added the link to the spreadsheet in the group description.

message 41: by Edie (new)

Edie | 1143 comments I'm surprised this hasn't gotten more traction. It provides an easy way to see what others are reading for various prompts which I suspect will be increasingly valuable as the year progresses.

message 42: by Emily, Conterminous Mod (new)

Emily Bourque (emilyardoin) | 11184 comments Mod
I hope so! The more people that contribute, the better resource it is!

dalex (912dalex) | 2646 comments Edie wrote: "I'm surprised this hasn't gotten more traction. It provides an easy way to see what others are reading for various prompts which I suspect will be increasingly valuable as the year progresses."

Well, a lot of people don't like and/or don't understand spreadsheets. So there's that. And I've noticed that in general the group members don't really care what anyone else is reading because they've got their own plan for the challenge.

message 44: by Ann (new)

Ann S | 624 comments The more people post their books and about their books, the more books I have to add to my TBR list. I will never get that thing read down.

Ann wrote: "The more people post their books and about their books, the more books I have to add to my TBR list. I will never get that thing read down."

Bahahah I feel THE SAME. I'm just trying to keep my To Read list less than my Read list. (And with 302 books on my Read list, it's still a challenge).

message 46: by Perri (new)

Perri | 886 comments Added, but can't figure out how to put books only in italics :P

message 47: by Ann (new)

Ann S | 624 comments I had that trouble also. When I was done I double clicked on the square highlighted and then it worked to italicize

message 48: by Emily, Conterminous Mod (new)

Emily Bourque (emilyardoin) | 11184 comments Mod
Are you using your phone or a laptop? You should be able to double click the cell, highlight just the title, and italicize it.

message 49: by Perri (new)

Perri | 886 comments Thanks Ann and Emily I'll try the double clicking trick after I'm done instead of in the middle of posting

message 50: by Jody (new)

Jody (jodybell) | 3477 comments I just Command-i, type the title, and Command-i again then type the rest. I think it’s Ctrl-i on a PC.
