You have really been reading...haha! I liked Brass although it wasn't action packed or exciting but for some reason I just kind of got into it, not even something I would normally read. A friend of mine just recommended Then She was Gone. I was going to pick it up but now I am not sure.

Teresa | 606 comments I'm currently reading The Hating Game by Sally Thorne , but I'm not sure I'm in the mood for contemporary right now. I feel like I have to finish it before it's due back at the library though. I've also got three other books on my TBR that I'm reading as a judge for a contest.

Yeah I usually like stories like Brass but I just couldnt get into it It just wasnt clicking with me.

I would say Then She Was Gone might be goo if you dont read Mystery/Thrillers all that often. I've read a ton this past year and compared to a lot of them it was just an ok read for me.

Laura (llbasaldua) | 790 comments LORDY!!!
I read this book a few years back/ actually the audio and I do not remember it being so good!! Even tho this is a KMM book I felt like was reading a Immortals after Dark by Kresley Cole

Beyond the Highland Mist (Highlander, #1) by Karen Marie Moning 5/5

The Hoarder by Jess Kidd I did end up DNF this book!
I was getting confused with the talk of saints! I couldnt decide if she was cray cray or if she was truely seeing and talking to the dead/Saints!

Baby Doll by Hollie Overton 2/5
was kind of like Room by Emma Donoghue
but Room was much better.

Love and Other Words by Christina Lauren 4/5

Marriage Games (The Games Duet, #1) by C.D. Reiss 1/5
Separation Games (The Games Duet, #2) by C.D. Reiss 1/5
I dunno who The F possibly enjoyed this crap!
He treats his wife like a whore!! Bribes for her to get the things she wants in their divorce! Its disgusting! even more so that she does them!

The Night Stalker (DI Mike Lockyer, #4) by Clare Donoghue 4/5
Was pretty great! I will be reading more in this series!

Roomies by Christina Lauren DNF
Could be a good book I dunno the Narrator just did not work for me! But what I did get through this book was giving me serious Deja Vu vibes of Jane's Melody (Jane's Melody, #1) by Ryan Winfield Jane's Harmony (Jane's Melody, #2) by Ryan Winfield

Laura (llbasaldua) | 790 comments Also in my soon TBR list

Dark Queen (Jane Yellowrock, #12) by Faith Hunter
Last book in the series !! Will miss this series

Flame in the Dark (Soulwood, #3) by Faith Hunter
Hope this one goes on a few more books there is a lot to be told!

A Court of Frost and Starlight (A Court of Thorns and Roses, #3.1) by Sarah J. Maas

message 559: by Victoria (new)

Victoria | 259 comments Finished A Court of Wings and Ruin (A Court of Thorns and Roses, #3) by Sarah J. Maas and it was disappointing compared to the second one. The writing is just not good and everything just turns out too perfect, which some people might like, but in this book it felt contrived. I am glad I stuck with it though, I feel closure for this series ( even though I know she is planning more, but for me, I think this was the end of the road). Now I am reading The City of Lost Fortunes by Bryan Camp which is urban fantasy. It is taking me a while to get into it, but it has great reviews so I am going to give it more time and see if I get drawn in.

message 560: by Laura (new)

Laura (llbasaldua) | 790 comments I'm almost done with Dark Queen (Jane Yellowrock, #12) by Faith Hunter I thought this was the last book in the series -Not that Im gonna complain I love this series- but I guess Its not Which is fine with me I just hope she dont drag it out. Right now there is still plenty that can and needs to be told some loose strings from past books tied up.

I get so sucked into this world The audio Narrator she is just amazing!! and knows how to tell a story thats for sure!

So now I am in a PNR/Urban Fantasy state of mind Going to have to find me a good series.

Laura (llbasaldua) | 790 comments Dark Queen (Jane Yellowrock, #12) by Faith Hunter 5/5
I love this series !! I cried more than a few times ..
there was a few things at the end that i wanted to scream at well because they are BIG things and have effects on the next book - spin-off ?? Not sure because it has to be confirmed !!

Guilt by Amanda Robson 4/5 excellent Thriller!

The Outliers (The Outliers, #1) by Kimberly McCreight after 50% I skimmedto the end.
The first half and the second half are NOTHING alike talk about a 360 and switch up of genre!

I had a bunch of DNF or just not books for me
The Beautiful Dead by Belinda Bauer
Recovered by Jay Crownover
The Killing Jar by Jennifer Bosworth
Brothers South of the Mason Dixon (South of the Mason Dixon, #2) by Abbi Glines
To Tame a Highland Warrior (Highlander, #2) by Karen Marie Moning
Skimmed to the end.

I just couldnt get into these books or just didnt care enough about what was going on to finis the books. I have to many books on my TBR to waste time on books I have to make myself finish!

I see so many 4 & 5 star reviews but I just dont get it!! Im about halfway through and I am ready to DNF !! This crap is affecting my mood !! Grrr

GAH!! I finished it ... But honestly had she cut the book about 200 pages (its 500+ pages) and cut some of the cheating out - seriously the majority of the book is cheating - I get that she was setting it up for Kellin and Kiera love story but honestly it did NOT need to be all about cheating!

2 stars from me!

Okay I finished off a couple of books including,
NeuroTribes The Legacy of Autism and How to Think Smarter About People Who Think Differently by Steve Silberman which was insightful yet so bogged down with so much information
A Court of Wings and Ruin (A Court of Thorns and Roses, #3) by Sarah J. Maas which was a massive let down especially after how amazing book 2 was.
I'm halfway through Bane (Sinners of Saint, #4) by L.J. Shen and absolutely loving this even though I didn't really think I would cause I didn't much fancy Bane from the previous book in the series but now I love him faults and all.
I also started reading A Court of Frost and Starlight (A Court of Thorns and Roses, #3.1) by Sarah J. Maas and am quarter of a way in and I don't know what the point of this novella is...ugh so frustrating.

Sana Zameer (sanazameer) Finished the second book in The Yara Silva Trilogy Indelible (The Yara Silva Trilogy, #2) by Lani Woodland It wasn't as good as the first book but I liked it. The plot is original and it's quite refreshing YA series.

Undead Girl Gang by Lily Anderson Just could't get into it.
The Awakening (The Vampire Diaries, #1) by L.J. Smith One of the rare instance when the show is waayyyy better than the books. The writing was so juvenile, it made Twilight look good.

Also read Eleventh Grave in Moonlight (Charley Davidson, #11) by Darynda Jones and Where the Wild Things Bite (Half-Moon Hollow, #5) by Molly Harper Two of my favorite series.

Nearly finished Moon Called (Mercy Thompson, #1) by Patricia Briggs and I'm liking it. Looks like I'm way late to the party as it seems that everyone has read and love The Mercy Thompson Series .
Next I'm going to start With Silent Screams (Hellequin Chronicles #3) by Steve McHugh by Steve McHugh

I love L.J. Smiths Vampire Diaries ! Absolutely love that the show was different than the books but also wish they still would have added some characters from the books to the show. Also loved Twilight series too so there is that ...

Mercy Thomson was an ok series but all in all I thought she was a f'in whimp! The biggest wuss in every way that matters !!

Charley Davidson and Half-Moon Hollow series are also loved series from me

I have the first book in the Yara Silva Trilogy but its sooo old I dont think I would be able to get into it now. I've found so many of the older YAs that I loved are now boring ...

It had me at African-inspired fantasy (I believe it's West African...correct me if I'm wrong). Personally, the romance side of it was a little meh for me but I fell in love with everything else.
