Oh wait? Have I got this all wrong? Do the new releases not have to be by Australian authors? Lauren Oliver is American.

I think I was a little over excited at actually reading a book so soon after it's release date! No worries, will find another :)
Another one down! A 2018 release gives me 16/24 now.I recently read the debut of Aussie author Holly Ringland, The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart, which has the best cover ever!

Thanks to the moderators, for running this challenge, I've enjoyed reading some books and authors that I have not previously read, and look forward to more from them.

Finished this challenge! Excited by that but was disappointed with the last book I read for it.Burning Fields by Alli Sinclair
Only gave it 3 out of 5. Review here
12/36 - not bad seeing as how I'd only started a month and 10 days ago!The Rules of Backyard Croquet Sunni Overend ★★★★★
This book opens with Apple, who works in a high end clothing shop in Australia, folding sweaters, sewing on on loose buttons, and doing the sweeping up. It's chick lit, and definitely nothing I would ever choose to read, but modern and well written, although it does read a bit like a fairy tale. This book was a bit of fun.
Wowzers, so many finishers! And many of you contemplating, or have already started the next level! Congratulations to Jacm, Trev, Odette and Lee! Excellent effort guys! And Jazzy! You're doing exceptionally well given how recently you started! :)

I've completed 15 out of 24 now, having just finished the most delightful read. My second of the New Releases category, and my favourite of this category from the two read thus far by quite some margin. :)
Three Gold Coins by Josephine Moon. AA. Completed 19/08 - 5 stars.

Kylie, you are doing very well. I also read Three Gold Coins which is one of my favourites. I have read so many good books in this challenge!

Many thanks Kylie! Of course I've been in bed with a sprained ankle and can't get up so much so lying on my back reading, reading, reading the days away. :D
And Kylie, you're really coming up trumps! Bravo!
In fact everyone's reading is working out a treat! x
I finished two books by Australian authors today, and I loved them both, in very different ways2018 release: Am I Doing This Right? : Life Lessons from the Encyclopedia Bri-Tanya by Tanya Hennessy completed 23.8, 5 ★
Female author: In the Quiet by Eliza Henry-Jones completed 23.8, 5 ★
Historical fiction - one of my favourite genres. Geraldine Brooks set her novel Caleb's Crossing in early colonial America. Good book, but I wish she'd included a colonial dictionary.

Number 16 down, with my third from the New Releases category completed.
The Jade Lily by Kirsty Manning. Completed 31/08 - 5 stars.
It's certainly hard to pick between this one and Three Gold Coins as to which of the new releases is my most favourite! :)
Darn I think I'm going to have to go for only 4 of each because I don't think I'm going to find more new Australian books from this year :'( The library doesn't have any and I've broken my bank account unawares!
That's okay. Only one book left to read in the male author category and i'm done!
Third Male Author in Second Challenge1.
Blood Moon / Garry Disher2.
The Secrets She Keeps / Michael Robotham3.
Number 17 done and dusted. And my fifth of six for the Male Authors category. Dane Swan: My Story by Dane Swan. One of my all time favourites (in the AFL), and thoroughly enjoyed reading his story and getting some insights into the enigma that is Dane Swan. :) 5 stars. :)
Finished another two to take my tally to 19/24. :)A fourth from the New Releases -
by Jenny Ackland. A most respectable 4 star read. And a mini-victory - my Favourite Genre category is now complete after having read
by Christine Wells. Another super high quality Historical Fiction read by a talented Aussie Author - 5 stars.
