Have finished my second new release The Shepherd's Hut by Tim Winton and it didn't disappoint. His skill in getting beneath the skin of his male characters is remarkable and in Jaxie Clackton he sustains a fascinating and unique voice for the duration of the novel. It reads like a warped boys' own adventure. For the first third of the novel there is no dialogue and other characters are only alluded to but do not appear, yet Winton grips the reader's attention and does not let go. And of course, he can describe a landscape so that you feel you are there. 5 ★

I didn't know Breath by Tim Winton had been made itno a movie.

Hmmm - from memory was surfies in it - surf movies not my favourite. But if they resist the urge to make it all about surf, and concentrate on the story then it should be brilliant

Yeah I heard about that. I believe Simon Baker from the Mentalist is in the movie and he also directed it.

From the trailer I would say they have taken the coming of age aspect to the fore. There were lots of lingering looks going on between one of the teenage boys and a young woman.
