1. Post here telling the challenge leader that you'd like to join the challenge. You can choose your books for the challenge at the beginning, or add them as you go. You can join a challenge at any time, as long as the challenge is still active.
2. Whenever you finish a book for the challenge, post here and let the challenge leader know so they can update your progress.
Some members choose to update their original post with their progress to keep track of their challenge more easily, but make sure to also post a new message so the challenge leader knows to go look at your original post. You can look at how other members report their progress to find a strategy that works well for you.
For more information about how challenges work, check out this thread or ask your challenge leader.

This one's easy, as I try to do it every year. I will take on challenge #5 - my challenge is to read all of the 2018 Hugo nominees in these categories: Novel, Novella, Novelette. Additionally, I will read at least 5 former Hugo winners (from the list of those I've not read yet).
EZ-PZ ! :)
EDIT: Technically, they are Hugo finalists, not Hugo nominees. If a piece of work gets even one vote during the nomination process, technically it is a nominee. Those works voted in as eligible for the rocket are Hugo Finalists, which is a prize indeed!

You do have to wait until Jan. 1 to set your yearly goal on Goodreads.

Thanks to so many of the wonderful great ideas that so many of you gave us in the Member Created Challenge thread, the Moderators have created this challenge for 2018. We can't thank you enough for all your help.
Choose one or more ideas and read books that fall under that idea:
1. Read books that are sub-genres of one particular genre
example: You love Science Fiction, so you will read 10 books that fit into the sub-genres like cyberpunk, alternate/parallel universe, space opera, etc.
2. Read books that are classified under one particular subject
example: You love the Social Sciences, the 300s, so you will read 10 books that fall under Folklore, the 390s.
3. Read books that were published in a particular year that interests you
example: 1998 interests you because that is the year you graduated from high school, so you will read 10 books published in 1998
4. Read books that are translated from one particular language to your native tongue.
example: You are obsessed with Russian Literature, so you will read 10 books that were originally published in Russian.
5. Read books that won one particular prize.
example: As a kid you always said you would read all the Newbery Award winners, so here's your chance to read 10 more.
You can read 1 to 100 books under one topic, or split your reading among several topics. You could even do a topic several times. It's up to you as long as your reading goes deeper than it ever has before!
