Very Official Counting of Points

Silver Shadows by Richelle Mead
This means I get one point for the book, but, more importantly, that means I get the 5 bonus points for a book in every category, which brings my total to 25 points!!!!
#winning

One Plus One by Jojo Moyes
13 points! (I have to say, I really like how adult we are being about this competition ;) ((but yay both of you on the bonus points!))
I SEE ALL YOU TERRIBLE PEOPLE READING BOOKS WHILE I'VE BEEN BUSY FIXING COMPUTERS.
Anyway, I finished:
Other > Other > Novella:
Make-Believe Wedding by Sarah Mayberry
I didn't like the beginning, but was really into it by the end. Except for how it makes me desperately want another couple's story and this is one of those series that is written by a bunch of various authors, so who KNOWS what it all means!!!
Um, and 20 points.

Contemporary Romance > Other > City:
Special Interests by Emma Barry
Paranormal Romance > Vampires:
Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead (It counts?? THERE WERE MAKEOUTS. They are half vampires.)
Romantic Suspense > Spy:
The Angel in My Arms by Stephanie Sloan (I am counting this because this category is SO HARD and there is a fairly significant spy plot in the second half of the book because smuggling ring. Several small children die and others are threatened. IT COUNTS??)
I now have 4 points. It's gonna be fun when you're all done and this thread is just me.

Contemporary > Military:
Disarm by June Grey
and
Paranormal > Other > Voodoo:
Make You Mine by Macy Beckett
27 points for me!

Attachments by Rainbow Rowell. It was sweet!
I'm still in second place with 21 points!
Grace, we'll keep cheering you on, I promise ;) I have another awesome challenge starting in September, so I might be more quiet in here...
I finished Paranormal > Ancient Gods:
Awaken by Meg Cabot
Which is probably pushing it a bit, but it plays off the Hades/Persephone story, so good enough! I wish the whole series had been better, though.
21 points Battle for second place!

Inspiration > Amish:
The Choice by Suzanne Woods Fisher
And Paranormal > Shape-Shifters:
Magic Breaks by Ilona Andrews.
29 points!
I finished:
Contemporary > Other > Foodie:
The Chocolate Heart by Laura Florand
22 points
Now if I can just somehow distract Jess from reading . . . .

Paranormal Romance > Shapeshifters:
The Rising by Kelley Armstrong (even though the romance didn't work for me, haha)
Historical Romance > Victorian:
The Duchess War by Courtney Milan
Contemporary > Cowboy:
Ride of Her Life by Paige Tyler (this was more erotica/porn than romance, but it had THREE cowboys [well, one was a cowgirl] and it has a HEA, so.)
FLYING PAST KATIE FOR A STUNNING 24 POINTS

A Kiss For Midwinter by Courtney Milan
Twinsies with steph! :)
25 points! This challenge is also doing wonders for my goodreads challenge. And my life in general. Boooooks

I read Historical Romance > Victorian, again:
The Heiress Effect by Courtney Milan
26 points! But I'll have to read the next books in the series now, so I'm afraid that'll leave y'all time to catch up... sigh.
I read Historical Romance > Other > Modern Frame Story:
The Mark of the Midnight Manzanilla by Lauren Willig
24 points
YEAH, YOU GO READ THOSE OTHER BOOKS, MIREILLE. And then read, like, non-fiction or something like that!

I have finished:
Romantic Suspense > Other > Historical:
The Mark of the Midnight Manzanilla by Laurel Willig (Probably a stretch but whatever, this was way more murder mystery and way less spy.)
Young Adult > Any young adult romance:
Frostbite by Richelle Mead (+1 bonus point)
Paranormal > Shape-shifters:
Magic Breaks by Ilona Andrews
That brings me to a grand total of (drumroll please): 8 points!

I have finished:
Contemporary Romance > Straight Contemporary:
When I Fall by Tamara Morgan
That's one point for that book plus the three for finishing the category.
I also finished:
Historical Romance > Other > Split Time Period:
The Secret Life of Violet Grant by Beatriz Williams
Paranormal > Witches:
The Book of Life by Deborah Harkness
Other > Other > Novella:
Make Believe Wedding by Sarah Mayberry
Romantic Suspense > Other > Historical:
The Mark of the Midnight Manzanilla by Lauren Willig
Assuming I have done the math correctly, that now brings my total to 37 points!

Nah, I just need to start making up stuff for the books I'm reading that don't fit the challenge!

Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell.
28 points. Sigh.
I finished Romantic Suspense > Other > Humor:
Don't Look Down by Jennifer Crusie and Bob Mayer
I actually didn't find it that humorous, but SHHH.
26 points

Paranormal Romance > Fae:
Visions by Kelley Armstrong
This gives me 38 points!
(This is admittedly a stretch, but I'm sorry, I'm counting anything Fae related.)

Contemporary > Tattoo:
Lick by Kylie Scott
Other > Christmas:
Ripped by Sarah Morgan
13 points! I am slowly getting there.

The Sweetest Thing by Cathy Woodman
(It might be stretching the category a bit, but there are cows, chickens, ponies, and a dog in this book, plus two vet characters, soooo.)
32 points!
Finished Other > Science Fiction:
Academy 7 by Anne Osterlund
It's definitely sci fi, but I feel like I'm cheating because the romance felt super-low key and barely there to me.

Prince of Swords by Anne Stuart.
33 points, and here's hoping Jess won't come back with 10 points she had forgotten about in the next few days.

Fatal Flaw by Marie Force
15 points! Look at me go!!

Love Irresistibly by Julie James.
34 points!

The Amish Nanny by Patricia Davids
17 points. I could read one for the Other subgenre and finish this category off (BONUS POINT!?), but I think I need to read something else first.
That's right. We left "other" as completely optional. I've been making myself get it just because MUST GET THEM ALL.
Anyway!
I finished Contemporary Romance > Pets and Vets
Hope Flames by Jaci Burton
I liked a lot of it, but by the end, I just wanted it to be OVER.
29 points
(I made so many mistakes typing out this comment. Maybe I should go to bed or something? . . . nah.)

This is what we said! "You can do whatever you want with the "other" category. Skip it, use a genre the list doesn't have, repeat a genre, etc!"

OH HEY. Guess who read a dragon romance and didn't realize it? In my defense, I'm not sure the book ever uses the word "dragon," but that's what she is. (And, also, it's right there in the book description.)
So I finished:
Paranormal Romance > Dragons:
Wanted: Wild Thing by Jessica Sims
30 points and off to see what other categories I may have read and not realized!
