Okay, you don't know the Executive Office series, otherwise you wouldn't be that surprised. LOL. Tal has a thing for conspiracy and a country at the verge of a war. ;-)

LOL. Amy and D? ;-)
Simone wrote: "Okay, you don't know the Executive Office series, otherwise you wouldn't be that surprised. LOL. I expected a situation where Tom and Mike would need to work together, for Mike to protect Tom. But this goes so much deeper with Tom's secret and his plans to take his life into his own hands and live it how he wants. This is an emotional roller coaster in addition to the danger for his life and it deals with a lot more than I expected it to. I can't really explain it. Sorry!

Maybe I didn't explain it properly. LOL. I get you! Totally, But it was the same in the other series, so I'm not as much surprised as you. ;-) Even if I didn't know where this was going in detail. :)

You can be. LOL.
I'm afraid so. :(

And Villegas as well...
Simone wrote: "And Villegas as well..."Not there yet.
Right now, I'm very glad that Mike is set on supporting Tom.

The noose is slowly tightening on them and their personal relationship. :( They have to be very careful...
"If there's anything you need to tell me, you need to hurry up and spit it out. Before your professionalism and your judgment are called into question, and you find yourself before a review board."Uh-oh... I wonder how this will work out in retrospect then...

Staring chapter 20 now, too :)

LOL : maybe we can create the sorority of "no public declaration". I let you ponder that and we can talk more about it once you have finished Hush ;-)

Hahaha! Great idea! And I'm sure Jan will join us. ;-)

Yes, of course I get it. I trust Villegas as far as I can throw him, so I wouldn't let him provide security for Tom, either.
Simone wrote: "Sorry to break it to you, buddy, but you might have been set up..."EDIT: LOL. Glad you realized it yourself. ;-)
Josy wrote: "The AIDS quilt in 1996... So sad :("
I don't like reading about this period in MM romance when it's the main focus, because yes, it's a very sad period :-(
I've seen the movie "Philadelphia" several times and I always need a lot of tissue, which is something to say as I don't really cry much when watching a movie !!

Forget it, I just saw your comment. Just now, I should add. :(

LOL : reading the blurb or not ?!? That is the question. Sometimes, it gives too much away : after all, part of the enjoyment is also to discover what's going on :-)

#569 - the thought came to me when I was making coffee, lol!

True. :) But normally I like to know what I am dealing with... ;-)

Same here. We are far less adventurous as Josy !!!!

Hehehe, yes, probably. ;-)
Simone wrote: "Starting with chapter 21. :)"LOL!! I just wanted to ask where your speed reading skills came from. Until I realized I'm already halfway through chapter 21 O_O
Christelle wrote: "LOL : reading the blurb or not ?!? That is the question. Sometimes, it gives too much away : after all, part of the enjoyment is also to discover what's going on :-).."LOL! I usually don't. But it was cause for some confusion for sure, lol! When you expect to read something contemporary and suddenly vampires, ghosts, elves, or unicorns appear, it can be very confusing :)

;-)
Sooo.... I thought of a very easy solution for all this mess but I guess it wouldn't make a good story, lol! (view spoiler)
Sorry, as much as I get their feelings right now, it's a bit too much of a sob fest for me. But of course that's 100% Tal Bauer. ;-)
Josy wrote: "Sooo.... I thought of a very easy solution for all this mess but I guess it wouldn't make a good story, lol! [spoilers removed]"LOL. Yeah, I would say that's wishful thinking... On the other hand, I know the blurb and you don't, so I know what's going to happen. ;-)

Something in particular?
I don't feel like you at all. I actually really get all that they are saying and feeling.

Like I said, I get their feelings, and I really don't mind men crying, but Tal always lays it on a bit too thick for me. :(
Simone wrote: "LOL. Yeah, I would say that's wishful thinking... On the other hand, I know the blurb and you don't, so I know what's going to happen. ;-).."LOL!! Nope, I'm going to stay strong and not read the blurb :)
For now, lol!

Hehehe, good luck with that. ;-)

edit: I only remember Tom crying when he talked about his past and I think that was warranted. Oh, and when he thought he'd lost Mike. But that was okay, too, IMO.

I'm afraid of what this will do for Tom and Mike, I really thought this would go entirely different. Like more of a Mike needs to protect Tom kind of story. I guess this is the case - now more than ever - but I still thought it would be different. I'm pleasantly surprised :)
