Well, there is the irony Alicia, ratty neighbour was trying to tell me I shouldn't have gone to see my friend as my foot had started to hurt, yet it was talking to her twice before I'd gone that set it off, then she got me talking a third time even though I'd told her I was supposed to be working (and she knew I was seeing my friend)! I did ignore the washloads I wanted to do, we have a whole week of nice weather, so I can spread it out, and I am being good at things like not parking as far away from the building as I usually do (not quite as far as using our disabled spots though!)

People are thoughtless - and the world is not designed for the mobility-impaired.
You can make a point of it (you have another foot coming!), if you will make sure to stop someone who is talking to you until you can find a comfortable seat - even if they say, "This will only take a minute." Because it NEVER takes just a minute.
And put your foot up. After two or three times, maybe they'll get it or leave you alone!
Feet are a problem because normally they carry all our weight - a lot on each square inch of sole.
I just get very selfish, and find a place to sit down - or LEAVE. Sigh. I've had to do that now with sitting on my Airwheel S8, because no matter what I do with gel seats and such, it still isn't comfortable for long. Moving is less of a problem (maybe because I use my feet actively to balance), but standing still gets excruciating very quickly.
Go ahead, take care of yourself. They'll live.

Sounds like a lot going on R! Lucky puffling

Awww. We have an ongoing joke about puffing pants because, when he gets into the pool, McMini’s swimming trunks bulge out around him like tudor trousers.

The trick is not to look at how far you have to go but keep comparing how you are now with previous weeks. As time goes on you begin to see how fast you are improving.

At least I'll have time to practice 'sitting on my bum' as ratty neighbour described it Alicia, it shouldn't be that hard! Thanks MT, I'm trying to appreciate that my feet do take a while to settle down, and glad that I only had to bathe and dress it for two weeks, when it said 2-6.

Glad you had a good weekend Desley.

I’m guessing it was a rare occasion when the haar was a bit of a relief!

Been busily working on the final draft of my latest non-seller - The Truth About Trees. Not even half way through the rewrite and it has somehow expanded from 72,000 words to 98,000!
Well hope you fine souls are all thriving!

Been busily wor..."
Woah! nice work. I have about 120k of something that was supposed to be a short and it's just mushroomed into some horrific three book epic so I totally get that. The travels sound awesome! Enjoy!

Ooh, some interesting places there Stuart.

Nice to have independent confirmation that rest - and painkillers and/or anti-inflammatories are a good thing.
Your foot knows best.
Take notes for next time.

My body clearly knows the ways to make me rest! Yes, it has only been 4 weeks, its just annoying that this isn't technically my toe nail removal, just hope it doesn't drag on for months like it has when I've hurt my foot.

Bit of a nothing day today but did find out about any negative impact applying for carer's allowance might have on Mum's council tax single person's discount; none! Woot. So I can go ahead and apply.

Glad you've got you have got on top of that for your Mum MT

Now I have a coronation chicken dish to finish cooking and I’ll be able to relax for an hour or so outside with my iPad and do some writing I hope.

Sorry you keep re-injuring the foot, Desley. And the pain of a newly healing part is disproportionate.

Glad you can apply for carer's allowance MT, we were picking blackberries on Sun, some were quite sour though - was looking at them while walking round the reservoir earlier, one side were ripening nicely, one part that is more shaded were still small and green! Yes, suspect there is a balance Jim, it's normally fine straight after I get up in the morning, but I feel like it needs some movement to help with the swelling

Never mind my stubbornness of feeling like I should push through it as I'm used to walking in pain!! Glad you got some writing done, I did read your blog earlier and sending hugs, wishing something would end for someone doesn't make you horrible, it's because you love them and don't want them to suffer x

Nails are looking good, loving the bedding and wow that bridge ... What I'd give to get on that exposed ground with a metal detector! Not that I'd get permission, it must belong to someone after all.
Lazy day sounds like a good idea. Having written a blistering rant for my blog I'm having one of those, myself.

I commented further up on your blog post. I'm not actually sure who owns the reservoir, I know who it was built by, but not sure they still exist and it was a different council who were there on Monday litter picking. One sign did say public right of way, but don't think the farmers like it, as they've put up their own unofficial signs.

It's a shame when something nice is ruined for those who would be respectful and careful by those who won't control themselves, their children, their vehicles, or their dogs. OR their trash.

we get all sorts. Not a walker but somebody who just dumped their van in a farm drive when the drive was in use

Glad to hear they appreciate you, Desley. Congratulations!

Fairly quiet day at work, had a nice chat with our managing director, he's another person with the sensible attitude of do what pleases you, regardless of what people say, think that's why I'm much happier now, neighbour and walking friend were dismissive of things I liked that they didn't, and the only important thing is that I enjoy what I'm doing, however 'boring' it might seem to other people. Went for petrol after work, and nipped in Morrisons to see if they had any nice clothes, unfortunately the ones I liked weren't in my size, and I didn't do my usual go OTT at being in a supermarket that isn't Aldi or Lidl (mainly because I haven't finished the last lot of stuff I went OTT on, and I haven't been since July!). Foot has been cramping a bit today, a colleague thought it might be that I didn't drink enough yesterday, rather than doing too much. At least the cleaner has been today, so I don't need to do much, although I did make her happy, she messaged thanking me for being patient and giving her some wax melts, and I said it was a good thing, made me realise that it is worthwhile paying someone to do something I can do myself, just not as good as her, and she seemed happy that her work is appreciated. So then I finished my book, 898 pages in a week!! Looking forward to a long weekend with hardly any chores, even going to attempt a 3 mile walk on Mon (I'd have rather done Sun, but friend wants to go on Mon
Well, walking round an office in walking sandals probably isn't appropriate Jim, but at least I'm not wearing a knee length dress with them! Thanks for the congrats, although we did all get a pay rise to help with the cost of living crisis, but appreciated all the same. I have had a few thanks this week, partly for things that shouldn't really be part of my job.
