New: Mystery Man by Kristen Ashley - KA's female characters always manage to get themselves into trouble even though they have good intentions.

TBR: Face the Fire by Nora Roberts

✩ Mortimer Mouse
TBR: Good Boy by Sarina Bowen & Elle Kennedy
New: El Diablo by M. Robinson - dark cover, with an arrogant character (considering he is called El Diablo, it's to be expected).

Mickey Mouse
TBR:

How much more sweet can a bakery get?!
TBR:

California-Los Angeles
Of course I have to recommend a book in L.A.! Also... I’m not sure, but I think I need to read this one too…
Minnie Mouse
TBR:

Woman on cover and red
TBR/NEW:

Woman on cover and red
Think I recommended this before, but seriously give it a try. This was a good read!
Goofy
TBR:

Humorous
Sounds really funny!
TBR/NEW:

Humorous/orange cover
Think I recommended this one last time as well, but such a great series!
NEW:

Humorous, character whose best intentions get her in trouble
“To say that I met Nicholas Brisbane over my husband’s dead body is not entirely accurate. Edward, it should be noted, was still twitching upon the floor.”
How can you not giggle at that?! I absolutely LOVE Deanna Raybourn’s Lady Julia Grey series. I read the fourth book, Dark Road to Darjeeling first by mistake, but from the very first line (above) Julia Grey had me hooked.
Donald Duck
TBR/NEW:

Siblings, character with a temper, lots of blue
Seriously awesome story! LOVED Charlotte and Granville’s story. They were such opposites and I thought Charlotte would annoy me, but she turned out to be a fabulous character. And their dialogue was rib-ticklingly fun!
NEW:

Set during WW2 and features soldiers
Was going to put this one in the love triangle category, but it's much better here. Such a great story!
Daisy Duck
TBR:

Purple cover
TBR:

Takes place by water – Seattle-Puget Sound
On my to-read list now too! I’m a sucker for a book written in my hometown! ;)
Pluto
TBR:

Features animal shifters
NEW:

Cat on cover and features animals
It isn’t a romance, or fiction, but this book has been a love of mine since I picked it up by chance back in 2010. I have a soft spot for black cats (i.e. House Panthers) as I have had one most of my life. While not everyone is a cat fan, I think Homer’s tale is something not to be missed for any pet-lover. Even my dog-only-loving cousin loves this book.
Chip ‘n’ Dale
TBR:

Mystery/suspense and cover with trees
I got goosebumps just reading the summary!
NEW:

Mystery/suspense and opposites attract themes
This could also go for arrogant character as Thomas had a serious chip on his shoulder, in an endearing, I-don’t-know-if-I-should-kiss-you-or-throttle-you kinda way. I just finished this one. It’s a YA, but a well-written, edge-of-your-seat murder mystery. Right down to the last page!
Mortimer Mouse
TBR:

Arrogant character
NEW:

Arrogant character/dark cover
OMG if a He-Man, macho, Me-Man-You-Woman Viking isn’t arrogant, I don’t know what is! Magnus made me wanna scream most of the time, but my gosh, when the mighty fall…. They fall hard! Excellent historical novel!

New: Perfectly Imperfect - Interesting look at overcoming self-esteem issues by an author who lived it
Daisy Duck
TBR: Chasing Christmas Eve - Jill Shalvis...nothing else to say.
New: Forget Me Not - Pretty typical but good military RS...I need to get back to this series one of these days.
Pluto
TBR: Delusion in Death - or wherever you are in the series if/when you get to it!

Here’s your picks, hope you enjoy something from here! :)
Mickey Mouse
✩A wholesome, sweet romance
✩A story set in either California, Florida, Hawaii, Paris, China, or Japan
✩A character that is the head of the company or works in business
✩A cover with just a man on it
TBR: Captured by the Pirate Laird by Amy Jarecki — This is actually also on my TBR list (I’m pretty sure I grabbed this on one of those Goodreads deals that seem to always suck me in 😉) but it has just a man on the cover. Let me know if you end up reading this one & it’s good!
NEW: The Apple Orchard by Susan Wiggs — definitely a sweet story about connecting with family and based in Northern California.

Minnie Mouse
✩A damsel in distress story
✩A cover with just a woman on it
✩A cover with a lot of red
TBR:Mariana by Susanna Kearsley — Only a woman is on the cover. A really good time-travel story (which Kearsley does so well!).
NEW: Backseat Saints by Joshilyn Jackson — A woman who is to some extent a damsel in distress. A pretty serious story but kept me enthralled throughout.

Goofy
✩A humorous story
✩A naive character or one whose best intentions get him/her in trouble
✩A cover with a lot of orange
TBR: Just One of the Guys by Kristan Higgins — She’s one of my go-to authors for humor (although some of her newer stories seem to be moving away from that) but I love how she writes these funny situations her heroines get in and this one is one of my favorites.
NEW:Wallbanger by Alice Clayton — Definitely a humorous story

Donald Duck
✩A group of three friends or siblings or a book in a trilogy
✩A character with a temper
✩A story set during WWII or features a soldier
✩A cover with a lot of blue
TBR: Simply Irresistible by Jill Shalvis — Story includes siblings and the cover has a lot of blue.
NEW: Wicked Nights by Gena Showalter — This paranormal trilogy is so good featuring angels (with tempers! 😉).

Daisy Duck
✩A cover with a lot of purple
✩A story about best friends
✩A cover or book that takes place by water
TBR: The Wanderer by Robyn Carr — Takes place on the Oregon coast.
NEW: Firefly Lane by Kristin Hannah — This is the first book that always comes to mind when thinking of a story about best friends. It’s one of my favorites b/c it’s such an emotional roller coaster where you stay with two friends throughout their lives and love the characters Kate & Tully like they’re your friends in real life.

Pluto
✩An animal on the cover
✩A story that features animals - shifters included
✩A cover with a lot of yellow or green
TBR: Moon Called by Patricia Briggs — This one was picked for me last month and I haven’t been able to put this series down. It’s a shifter/urban romance novel that is really good and quickly pulled me into the ‘world’.
NEW: Kiss an Angel by Susan Elizabeth Phillips — This is such a sweet story that takes place on a traveling circus where Daisy starts out scared of all animals becomes really close with the circus menagerie. Of course, the romance in this one is really good (in the end at least) too.

Chip ‘n’ Dale
✩A mystery/suspense plot
✩An opposites attract theme
✩A character that works in or around nature (park ranger, game warden, nature guide, etc)
✩A cover with a lot of trees
TBR: Much Ado About You by Eloisa James — A somewhat of opposites attract theme where the hero & heroine are pretty different. This one does talk a lot about horses & the cover has trees. I enjoyed the family story and realistic relationships between the 4 sisters.
NEW:Prey by Linda Howard — This author seems to always make it into my PIFM picks (probably b/c she’s one of my favorites) but it really does seem like this category was written for this book: it is a mystery/suspense plot with a character that works as a wilderness guide in the Montana mtns. I was on the edge of my seat reading this and loved it.

Mortimer Mouse
✩An arrogant character
✩A love triangle or a bad or evil ex
✩A dark cover (blacks or browns)
TBR: ACE: Las Vegas Bad Boys by Frankie Love — Sounds like a really arrogant hero & has a dark cover.
NEW: To Have and to Hold by Lauren Layne — A cute chick-lit series (the second one, For Better or Worse is actually my favorite) and all three in the series are really good. This one has a bad ex who gets arrested by the FBI on her wedding day leaving this wedding planner a bit gun-shy about love.

Happy reading!
- Kristin

Hi MountainKat,
Thanks for the great picks! So many of them I can't wait to start.
Funny that you mention audiobooks; I picked up my very first one yesterday and while I'm not quite used to it and miss the feel of a book & reading, it wasn't bad & I was thinking that I'd like to pickup more -- so thanks for mentioning a few of those have good audiobooks in particular, I'll probably pick one of those up that way :)
Thanks!

Thanks Kristin not sure what I will pick up but will see what I am in the mood for :)

Once you get used to being able to 'read' while driving, grocery shopping or cleaning house you won't look back! The narrator will make or break the audiobook though! A good one will make an okay book better and a bad one will make a good book miserable. A great narrator? They will transport you and bring the story to life!!
That said, it would probably be better to try an audiobook of a new series or a stand-alone title rather than in a series you have read before. You already have the characters in your head if you've read about them and hearing them in a different voice can be really weird.

Here are your picks hope you like them! Happy Reading!!
