Finished yesterday my SWAP suggestion Still Alice by Lisa Genova.
I've liked it quite a lot for how it describes a nightmare each of us is terrified about, but with no morbid notes.

Here's my review:

Tamara Agha-Jaffar | 1415 comments Finished What We Lose by Zinzi Clemmons.
With its unorthodox structure, it compellingly depicts a young woman's devastating sense of loss at the death of her mother. I thought it was excellent.

Paul Lockman | 72 comments I just got through I Know This Much Is True by Wally Lamb, the book that had been on my to read list the longest. At just under 900 pages, took me a while to finish it. 4 stars. Here’s my review.

Alice Poon (alice_poon) Finished Hilary Mantel's Bring Up the Bodies (Thomas Cromwell, #2) by Hilary Mantel Bring Up the Bodies. Compared to Wolf Hall, this appears to be a more balanced study of Thomas Cromwell's character. 4 stars.

Finished right now Il tunnel by A.B. Yehoshua - strange to say it doesn't seem to be an English translation!
Liked it a lot; in these latest days I've read some books from writers of Israel, and even if I still think that Israel is not behaving rightly towards the palestinians - with all their faults! - I'm getting more and more curious about their life, country, habits. I hope I'll be able of going there soon...

If you come to visit maybe we can meet up.
And if you want a more balanced account of what is going on here that you can get in the European news try reading The Jerusalem Post or Ynet.
It is amazing but I find Al-Jazeera is often less anti-Israel than AP and the BBC!

In May my daughter is planning a trip including Roma, Naples and Bari .
I don't think we will make it back this year but every time we feel the need to 'escape' work we dream about trips to Italy.

Tell your daughter to come to Perugia then. From Rome is a couple of hours by trein. It is not a very famous city but I assure you it's worth a visit. If she manages, write me and we'll meet somewhere!
