theDuke | 6491 comments Bringing forward:

189. Songs with titles that feature a musical instrument - Helen - (In Play)

Remaining R10 noms:

190. Songs with rhymes in either the title eg Floy Joy or band name eg Haysi Fantaysi, Milli Vanilli (oh dear, sounded better until I had to think of examples!), etc - nominated by Brass Neck
191. Bands/solo artists from Sheffield - nominated by Lez
192. Blow Yer Own Trumpety - the genre of music that the act is playing must be reflected in the title of the song/piece or in the name of the act - nominated by tech
193. Golden Oldies - 1960 to 1990 - nominated by Jemma
194. The Unexplained - songs about U.F.O.s, strange happenings, disappearances etc - nominated by TheFoe
195. "Turning Japanese, I think I'm turning Japanese, I really think so" - music created by Japanese born artists (there can be westerners or whoever in the mix, but the main man (or woman) must be from Japan - nominated by Tim
196. Got the horn... songs featuring saxophone, trumpet, cornet or flugelhorn solos ("song" does not mean there have to be words: instrumentals are welcome) - nominated by Gordon

On hold - to be added to R11 list (when I've opened it!) - "Good-dreads Inna Babylon - Reggae" - Tech

11 individual noms have been made for R10 so far, so I think there's room for a few more, before we start a fresh list.

Helen The Melon | 3419 comments Question for Mr. Franklin re: theme no. 195............Can I nominate a duo where one member is from Japan & the other member is not?
I'm finding your theme a bit tricky, I don't listen to/have much music of Japanese origin.

And updating list:-

192. Blow Yer Own Trumpety - the genre of music that the act is playing must be reflected in the title of the song/piece or in the name of the act - nominated by tech
193. Golden Oldies - 1960 to 1990 - nominated by Jemma

197. Too much. Song title must contain the word "too". - SussexWelsh

Who said that?! 😂 soz, Helen, I missed your question. Yes that's fine, as obliquely stated in the theme, so long as the main guy is Japanese. In a duo, that would be lead singer or lead instrumentalist. If all he does is tap on a stick in the background, then no, no, no! 😉

It should be noted, that if we do 10 rounds, that'll take us into February..which i recall some folks had thought that was too long...but we'll see others say. I'm fairly sure Tech won't make it to xmas though!

Here's what we've got so far for 2019 -

Craig White | 6727 comments i've wanted to use/steal this title for ages,

' A Diamond In The Mouth Of A Corpse' - a song that you adore from a band/singer/act that you despise.

from the dodgy theory that everybody's got at least one good song, one that you're practically angry over the fact that they recorded because it threatens to soften your distaste for them! do not misinterpret as 'guilty pleasure'!

206. MFSB - Mother, father, sister and/or brother in song titles. - KJS
