Lez | 7490 comments If you just stick to states, Rob, we could devote a separate one to cities. There are plenty to choose from and we’ve all forgotten what we nommed when Derek did it!

TheFoe | 2638 comments Thanks Rob. I do have states in my music collection Derek, but heard this song recently that I really like and wanted to share, which happened to be a city. :-)

Mr Stapleton later claimed some didn't even exist, but research seems to suggest all in fact, did. http://nwwlist.org is where to go; click on 'artists' then on 'named' which contains all those on the list. https://www.whosampled.com

Also, a question for Mr. Neck re: his next theme - is it ok for the song to just have the word "toy" somewhere in the title?

Brass Neck | 3979 comments Well Ms Melon, I thought 'Toys, general or specified' couldn't be more broadly stated? Unless you mean where the word toy is split across consecutive words like From Me To You, in which case I'm not keen on such sophistry! ;¬)

Val H. | 22141 comments May I ask KJS for clarification on No. 182?

If a musician is name-checked in the lyrics, may the name also appear in the title of the track we choose? Or does the title of the track have to be name-free?

message 88: by KJS (last edited May 07, 2018 01:47AM) (new)

KJS (kjskjs) | 1585 comments Val - It doesn't matter as long as the names of the musician or band are in the lyrics e.g. All The Young Dudes - Mott The Hoople ,When Smokey Sings - ABC.

Val H. | 22141 comments Thanks KJ. I thought that would probably be the case but I just wanted to check in case you were trying to make us think a bit harder than usual.

Fishy_Jim | 1287 comments Ptiy it's only in the lyrics, because i can think of a couple of tracks with artists' names in the titles, but not the lyrics.

186. A track that fits YOUR definition of pure, aesthetic beauty - Val

This is really a psychological test for me to find out a bit more about how your collective minds work. Here's hoping we might see some classical music, some perfect voices, some transcendental music.

Fishy_Jim | 1287 comments I thought of another type of voting thread. Nominate an album and everyone votes for the best track from it. Obviously, albums with only a few long tracks are out, say a 10 track minimum.
