What about sunrise, dusk, twilight, sunset & sundown etc?"

I'd say no to those as they are more meteorological. Let's just stick with morning, midday/noon, afternoon, evening, midnight and any specific clock time.

Theme 266 - Freak Out! Uncut magazine's list of 101 "weirdest albums of all time". There's at least one single A-side on the list (step forward 'Scratch'). The reasons for weirdness aren't always evident from the titles alone (although the exceptions should be obvious), and there's one which you'll never find on discogs; the Merzbow at #100 is actually a written-off Mercedes previously the property of his dutch label boss, with a copy of Merzbow's album "Noisembryo" hardwired into the ignition, so it plays when the car is turned on. He tried auctioning this unique item and got zero bids! - Tim https://forums.stevehoffman.tv/thread...
Theme 267 - Great instrumental breaks (must be within a "song") - SussexWelsh
Theme 268 - Let's Stick Together; any song title with a word which references a method of sticking one thing to another (join/t, glue, mortar, tie/d, bond, weld, etc ad infinitum) - Brass Neck
Theme 269 - "In The Mood For A Moog" - Songs featuring the Moog synth - theDuke
Theme 270 - "The Happy Organ" - Tracks featuring an organ, the keyboard instrument, of any type. - KJS
Theme 271 - "It's Raining Cats & Dogs" - song titles containing the word(s) cat(s) or dog(s) (or both): state your allegiance if you wish ;-) - Helen
Theme 272 - Old King Cole - songs written by Cole Porter, performed by anyone you like (there are hundreds of them: incomplete list on Wikipedia, examples at Red Hot + Blue) - Gordon
Theme 273 - Get laid - song titles with any form of floor covering eg carpet, tiles, rug, mats, laminate (should be loads of songs about the latter), etc - Brass Neck
Theme 274 - My heroes have always been cowboys, And they still are, it seems... (take it away Willie) - give us a cowboy song you like, bring out your Roys, your Texs and your Genes, your Frankies and Martys, the Saturday-morning serials, or maybe a film or TV theme or soundtrack, any song that has you tilting your hat back and winding up your lasso - Val
Theme 275 - Give me the time of day: Any song title which includes a time of day - Fishy Jim
Theme 276 - Wildcard Round 11

theDuke wrote: "you can add 'Dunk' as well if you like Helen."

Sorry, don't think I'll bother - I can't see that adding it will widen the scope & give people more songs or artists to choose from! ;-)

I will add Timothy though, I forgot yesterday. Unless Tim is short for Timantha, Timberly or ummmm Timothea?

Hi Jemma, no problem

https://forums.stevehoffman.tv/thread...

A few points...
No. 8 is a 7" single rather than an album. On this, there is a YT video which comes up when you look for this, but which has got the beginning of the track lopped off for unknown reasons. It should start with a few seconds of an R&B tune, not with the reggae riddim.
No. 78 the title of this album is Crying Demons
No. 92 is a 4 track 12" single
No. 93 should be Oliver In The Overworld (there are two albums by this title. The Freddie one, which is the one here, and a general soundtrack one, which is not)
No. 100 as mentioned previously, Merzcar is a copy of Merzbow's album 'Noisembryo' hot-wired into a written-off Mercedes, so it turns on when the ignition is turned on. So, Noisembryo is what to search for.

I was born in Wales too but moved to Shropshire when I was about 1 - my Dad is Salopian.

If you have a pet, Sussex, you could get this: Teach Your Cat Welsh or this: Teach Your Dog Welsh. The cat one is really lovely, charming in a non-twee way.

There is a small range by the same author on Amazon if anyone's interested in teaching their pet Gaelic or Cornish etc! - https://www.amazon.co.uk/s?k=Anne+cak...

Val H. | 22141 comments Sussex - if you see this, I have a query about the next theme, No. 267, "Great instrumental breaks". Must it be the recorded version (i.e. studio album) or can it be a clip from a live performance (which could be significantly different to the record)?

theDuke | 6491 comments My next one..i just hope there is enough choices available for folks find something..but i have got one...just the one, mind!

Theme 268 - Let's Stick Together; any song title with a word which references a method of sticking one thing to another (join/t, glue, mortar, tie/d, bond, weld, etc ad infinitum) - Brass Neck

Theme 276 - Wildcard Round 11
Theme 277 - This Is Us - any artist/band name or song title containing any of the following words/names: Tech, Craig, Duke, Duncan, Foe, Nick, Tim, Timothy, Jemma, Val, Valerie, Derek, Collette, Lez, Les, Lesley, Brass, Neck, Sussex, Welsh, Mark, Gordon, Fishy, Jim, James, Steve, Helen, Melon, Sera, 69, Kevin - Helen
Theme 278 - More Tea, Vicar? - any song title with one of the requirements for a cup of Rosie Lee (cup, tea, leaf, bag, saucer, mug, milk, sugar, etc) - Brass Neck
Theme 279 - All life's here - Any song with variants of the word life, live, lives, living, lived, alive etc in the title - Sera69
Theme 280 - "We're playing...where?!" Live performances in unusual venues/places. Some bands have performed at some odd places over the eons. So, pick a song (and YT vid link, if available), performed at strange places. It could be out at sea, on an active volcano, in the middle of a jungle or in a desert, in a war torn country, at an ancient site, like an Inca/Aztec city, an isolated monastery on top of mountain...and so on...you get the drift. The odder the better - theDuke

Craig White | 6727 comments so, can we ban pink floyd from this one, duke?

message 593: by theDuke (new)

theDuke | 6491 comments Why exclude them Tech?

message 594: by Gordon (new)

Gordon (skiiltan) | 2940 comments I think "because they're pink floyd" might be an answer that Tech would immediately think of.

Craig White | 6727 comments ""because they're pink floyd""

i'm thinking about that dreary pompeii thing, y'know the one where after the first 8 hours you're praying for a repeat volcano eruption!

message 596: by theDuke (new)

theDuke | 6491 comments I like that one!

message 597: by Brass Neck (new)

Brass Neck | 3979 comments Looks like a difficult ask to me Duke. Just tried to search for a list but got (non-live) albums recorded in strange places? Still, yours might be the only nom and then you'd win ..... unless nobody voted and you can't vote for your own!

message 598: by Tim (new)

Tim Franklin | 10949 comments There's probably more than you might think. The trouble is whether there's footage of some of them - such as the numerous times when members of Hawkwind and the Pink Fairies played for free on a flatbed lorry outside festivals circa 1970

theDuke | 6491 comments It might be a stretch to find suitable noms/links for this theme. I have seen some including that pompeii one. One might have to post the link for an entire concert vid, and just state the time stamp for the song nominated...and do it that way. I'll leave it for now until we get closer to the time, and see what folks have or have not found by then. If it's a no goer, then i'll remove it or change it.
