Comments: Didn't get to catch up as much as I had planned to before the readathon started, didn't get up till 7:30am instead of 7am. Oh well! So I've actually been in and out of GR this morning, doing some cheering, and reading updates.
Check-In #2 - Hours 5-8 (12pm-4pm):
Check In Time: 4:03pm
Breaks: 0
Food/Drink: I've just been drinking my tangerine tea! My pot is finally empty. I haven't eaten anything.
Pages Read Total: 243
Time Listened Total: 2:50
Books Progressed In:

Comments: Ended up spending a lot of time on Goodreads at the beginning of this block. So I listened to quite a bit of Cujo. And I'm not really liking it. It's less about the dog and more about shitty people and sex? Meh.
I ended up taking Bazaar of Bad Dreams outside for 40 minutes to read on my deck. The sun came out and was quite nice. Then it got too windy.
I got to Blockade Billy and skipped it as I already read it separately a few weeks ago. So I subtracted those pages from how many pages I read in the book. This will happen again when I get to Drunken Fireworks because I listened to that last October! lol.
Less than 100 pages left of Bazaar of Bad Dreams. Time to make my cucumber kiwi salsa and continue listening to Cujo. Hope it gets better.
Check-In #3 - Hours 9-12 (4pm-8pm):
Check In Time: 8:00pm
Breaks: 0
Food/Drink: Cucumber kiwi salsa w/ pita chips and water for a snack, then a turkey grinder, fried pickles, and a Pepsi for supper
Pages Read Total: 312
Time Listened Total: 5:00
Books Progressed In:

Books Finished:

Comments: Cucumber kiwi salsa was DELICIOUS! Turkey grinder too. And nowwww I'm super full. I just showered, Bluetooth speaker in shower for audio listening (lol). But I still feel good! I'm ready for graphic novel time!
Check-In #4 - Hours 13-16 (8pm-12am):
Check In Time: 12:06am
Breaks: 0
Food/Drink: Pepsi, Skittles, Peanut M&Ms
Pages Read Total: 554
Time Listened Total: 6:25
Books Progressed In:

Books Finished:

Comments: Switching to a graphic novel was a good idea. I needed the change. But I found that the lighting in my library and living room are lacking for graphic novels! lol. I listened to more of Cujo, I read The Long Road Home, I read some of The Waste Lands, and I started reading Carrie! Variety is the spice of life! lol. This is where I start fading...
Check-In #5 - Hours 17-20 (12am-4am):
Check In Time: 6:12am
Breaks: 1 - 1:30-6:00am (4:30)
Food/Drink: Water and Peanut M&Ms
Pages Read Total: 730
Time Listened Total: 7:07
Books Progressed In:

Books Finished:

Comments: I ended up pulling out one more graphic novel before succumbing to the bed. The peanut M&Ms helped a little bit in reinvigorating me at midnight. lol. I listened to Cujo and set a timer for 30 minutes. I fell asleep towards the end of that 30 minutes so I went to bed. My husband came to bed at 3:40am and I hadn't really fell deep asleep at this point. I *almost* got back up but I was so warm and cozy. lol. I had my alarm set for 5am but I changed it to 6am at this point. Now it's 6:15am and I'm going to listen to Cujo for the rest of the readathon and I should finish it just in time!

Nice! Will borrow this if you don't mind?

Thanks! I'm trying to be a little more forward-thinking and organized this time around. :)

It feels so good! And looks organized. ;)

No, go right ahead! :)"
Thx!
Happy readathon!

Hopefully the scary books will keep you from falling asleep during the readathon. ;)
(I'm a wuss when it comes to horror stuff haha)

1) What fine part of the world are you reading from today? New Hampshire
2) Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to? My 2 Dark Tower graphic novels!
3) Which snack are you most looking forward to? Peanut butter cookies!
4) Tell us a little something about yourself! I love to read! :O I know, surprising! I never know what to write here. lol
5) If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today? If this is your first read-a-thon, what are you most looking forward to? Social media less, read more!
Morning! Got up a little later than intended so I'm off to continue reading The Bazaar of Bad Dreams! Starting on page 118! Made a pot of my Yogi Positive Energy Tangerine Tea to sip throughout the morning.

Aww thank you! Good luck to you!

No, go right ahead! :)"
Thx!
Happy readathon!"
Good luck to you, Susy!

Hopefully the scary books will keep you from falling asleep during the readathon. ;)
(I'm a wuss when it comes to horror stuff haha)"
Yes, that's my plan! Hoping listening to Cujo or reading Carrie will keep these eyes open! lol. Good luck!

Have a great readathon :)

Have a great readathon :)"
I've struggled with the Dark Tower books. I gave the first and second 3 stars and I'll be working on the third one today. The graphic novels are prequels when Roland is a teenager and I really enjoyed the first one!

I have to agree with you. I think this is my 4th year doing Dewey's and I learnt my lesson early; I had to pace myself when it came to social media and the mini games. It's like falling down the rabbit hole. Concentrating on the reading and cheering people on ever few hours.
I love you King themed TBR by the way.

Tangerine tea sounds nice a refreshing. Yum!
I concur with Ann A you are a fabulous cheerleader. Thanks for keeping us all motivated.

I'm of two minds still. I'm hoping to finish The Waste Lands today.

I'm hoping King will keep me awake!! lol. Last October I wasn't reading or listening to any of his scary works but I've already had some nightmares this October from some of his short stories. So hopefully Cujo or Carrie will keep my eyes wide open in fear! haha.

Title Haiku
Bazaar of Bad Dreams
The Waste Lands and Long Walk Home
Cujo and Carrie
Modern Classics
I think The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas is such a powerful and important read that will stand the test of time. And hopefully when it becomes a classic, teenagers will be confused as to why there was so much divide between races and police and black people.
Seasons to Read
I have no books I re-read every year or at a certain time or season. It's not something I've ever thought about! And there's no book I re-read every year. Except for the past 3 years I've re-read Ready Player One every year. lol. Okay okay yes, this is the second October I've only read Stephen King books. So I guess that works. lol
Vague Recollections
You know, that book with the killer dog.

Hope you're enjoying all your reads!

Hope you're enjoying all your reads!"
It's my personal tradition to only read Stephen King for the month of October. So every October Dewey's will always be just King! lol

Thanks Kathryn! My next check-in block will mostly be audio! I've been on the computer a LOT. lol

5. What surprises you most about the Read-a-thon, so far? How much activity on Goodreads this time! Whoa!

Such a hopping place today! It's so cool! Thank you and good luck to you! This is where I start to fade...lol.

No, I own them all in paperback. But I think that audio would be a great idea for this series. I think it would be easier to follow. I am finally getting into The Waste Lands, after over 100 pages and 2 weeks! lol.

haha thanks. I wanted to be more condensed in posts this time around, I deleted a lot of posts from my previous readathons in this thread, cleaned it up. I'm glad I spent less time on GR.

I sure did have fun! :)

Thank you! It is a lot of King but I had a good variety with his sci fi western vs. his thrillers vs. his short stories vs. his graphic novels.
