That's the attraction of a challenge!

This book was a great five star read for me.
3. Of course we all know Halloween is in October. Read a scary thriller or a chilling suspense novel,

I must read that one Odette - lots of high ratings for it :)

I listened to this one on audiobook. The story is told from the point of view from 5 or 6 different characters, and the audiobook format suited this well, with different narrators for different characters/chapters. I had previously read "The Widow" by the same author, and started this one not realising that there was an overlap of characters, but the storylines are completely separate, there is no need to read these two books in order.

3★ for A Lesson in Violence aka She Rides Shotgun by Jordan Harper

Dead Heat by Dick Francis

5. November 5th is Guy Fawkes Night in the UK. Read a historical mystery.
A Gem of a Problem by Irene Sauman - 3.5★ AA

[Technically, it's a novella, not a novel, but added to the book I partly read plus the beginning of the next in the series, I hope I have enough pages to count for the challenge. It's the best I can do at the moment!)

My selection of books for the challenge:
1) Father's day - TBC
2) At least 10 years old - Murder in Montparnasse by Kerry Greenwood - 3★
3) Halloween - The Living and the Dead in Winsford by Håkan Nesser - 3★
4) English author - The Woman Who Walked in Sunshine by Alexander McCall Smith - 3★
5) Historical - Murder and Mendelssohn by Kerry Greenwood - 3★
5) Horse in story - The Great Melbourne Cup Mystery by Arthur W. Upfield - 2★(and this is generous)

I do too, I haven't had any really good books for this challenge so far.
