I live in Oklahoma. Married, just the one kid (my husband). That's about it for my exciting life :)
Team names.... be back in a few. Do y'all want to play off the Ten? or just random? I do better with random. And by me, I mean the Team Name Generators, lol.

I'm living on the road in a 32' RV. Hubby retired from USMC last April and we've been touring around the US since. It's just us and our two kitties. We're currently in MT and keeping to the north as we try to avoid the heatwave sweeping across the country. Bleh.
RE: Name - I'm easy, so a play off of 10 or something random - either works for me.
I was on T#10 in the past and these were some of the names I'd thought of that weren't used.
Some ideas for a team name:
- words with TEN or X in them
eXtreme, eXtraordinary, TENacity, TENdencies, TENderhearted, eXaggerate(d), eXample, eXcellent/eXcellence, eXcentric, eXception(al), anXious ...
- book-ish
Kindle Queens, Series Sirens

Crash Test Dummies
Mullet Mafia
Fear The Walking Read (I was on a team The Walking Read here a few rounds back)
Midgets With Mohawks
Zombie Bait
Chicks with Kicks
Speed Bumps
Village Idiots
Nerd Herd
Better Off Read
Nightshade Castaways
Crypt Wanderers
The Wailing Banshees
Voodoodeviation

*waves back to Steph, giddy and jumping up and down* I'm so stoked we're on the same team! Where have you been lately--before MT?
I will be moving and starting a new job in the next month, so I'd rather not captain. Nichole, are you up to it?
Elaine...great to have you back! What do you teach? I was a teacher in a former life--taught 2nd grade.
Fear the Walking Read is good with me. I also agree with Steph's picks. I do like Midgets with Mohawks, though, since I'm fun-sized. :)

I've been Captain a few times, so I don't mind doing it :)
As far as names go, it looks like Nerd Herd and Fear The Walking Read. I think I like Nerd Herd best. I even have a Nerd avatar that I use. So how about that one?
Has anyone started picking out their Free Space book yet? I'm pretty sure I have mine picked out if I can hold out that long! I should probably read over the rules again and see if anything has changed...

We're loving it. So much so that we haven't achieved one of our post-retirement goals which was/is to find a spot to settle. We just keep on roaming back and forth across the US. Eventually, at least for a short time, we'll have to stop somewhere to get our stuff out of storage (USMC holding for us - not indefinitely though) then decide if we'll stay there or start roaming again. :)
From MT, we're heading to a Nat'l Park in ND, then back to VA to spend time this fall with our family, after that we'll head to NM for Xmas with the rest of my family.
Thanks for being our captain, Nichole! Nerd Herd with cool avatar works for me :D I'm not yet sure which book will be my FS read, but I'll let ya know as soon as I pick one.
Hi Elaine! I always wanted to be either a teacher or a doctor. Came close-ish as a Medical Office Administrator. Hope this year's session goes well for ya! I'm so glad you decided to join us again this round. I love that this game brings other fans to our group.
Miss Katharine, we've been all over. Here's a map of our travels from 8 Apr 2016 - 27 Apr 2017; I haven't had a chance to update it since then. The #s are the campgrounds we've stayed at and the others are places we've explored: sights, Nat'l Parks, zoos, etc. :D We've seen a lot of the US, but so much left to see and do!
Good luck with your new job and home! Where are ya headed?

Katherine: I am currently teaching third grade (my third year in third) and taught fourth for thirteen years prior. Both grade levels are amazing but I find third to be slightly less hectic content-wise...I work at an amazing school and always seem to get the nicest families in my class.
Steph: My mom and I take short road trips every summer (this year was southwestern Colorado.) My grandparents RV'd and I've always loved the idea of traveling more long-term. I will say, some of the places I have seen RV drivers driving seem very challenging! Do you have a favorite place that you would like to revisit?

HI Steph! Thanks for sharing the map of your travels. I've wondered where all you had been. And yes, I am lurking!

Oh, man, sometimes I'm white-knuckling it as my hubby expertly navigates us on some hairy, scary roads. There are a couple of places we will definitely return. Yellowstone and Crater Lake (twice already) National Parks were our favorites so far. We loved Jackson, WY, but we were there when the weather was nice. Not sure how we'd like it during their snow season.

LOL, Cheryl! No problem at all. How are ya? :)

My OCDemoness is squawking about all the empties on our travel map sticker. But, I'm not sure if/when we will. Not a lot of interest in many of those.

I'll be reading either

As someone who lives in one of those empty spots... I get it, LOL!

Cheryl!!!! HI! How are things with you?

Holy buckets, Steph! You have been racking up the miles! I'm staying in the same city, just a different house in a better neighborhood. :)

I'm not sure what I'll read for my FS book b/c I have so many choices, so it'll probably come down to my mood. Here's what I'm considering (all on either PNR or UF Best of lists and/or bookshelf):

That we have! :D
Cool! Hope the move goes smoothly!

Hi Katharine! Crazy as usual. Did I see that you are changing jobs?

Yes. I'm moving to the OR--intraop. Kinda freaks me out, but I'm really excited at the same time. I will definitely learn a TON and it's a good career move. :) And moving to a different neighborhood at the same time. Why not lump it all together and get it over with, right?

I hope you love the OR as much as I do! Any certain specialty?

I'm starting with General, Uro, and Ortho, but would like to work my way to Neuro, I think. What's your favorite?

I'm not sure what I'll read for my ..."
I LOVED Allegiance of Honor so much!!!!

I work with a Plastic Surgeon whose specialty is Craniofacial Surgery. So mostly peds although we work with neuro on tumors and do some trauma.
General gives you a good background. I haven't done Uro in over 30 years. I worked at an Orthopaedic hospital for a while. Not really my cup of tea. I like to keep it to the head and neck.

Book: Samson's Lovely Mortal by Tina Folsom
Date: 8-9-17
Rating: 2 stars
Review: This book had quite a bit of potential but missed the mark for me. I almost DNF'd it at a fairly early point because the hero was completely unsympathetic and frankly, quite crass at times. His disparaging remarks towards women and the ways in which he tried to use them were also off-putting. There was a bit of a mystery which started out interesting but the author was too heavy handed with her hints and revealed the baddie too soon while still thinking that the reader didn't know who it was. Usually I feel smart figuring it out early, but this time I felt as if author assumed I wasn't too bright by believing I wouldn't know who it was. In addition, the heroine engaged in some TSTL behavior at the end of the book, several misunderstandings occurred that could have been avoided using basic communication skills and the continual objectification of women by multiple characters got really old, really fast. I don't think that I will read book two in the series which I also have downloaded. Too many major issues in this book make me hesitant to give the author a second chance.

Plastics is another area I think I might like. I'll put my time in and get a wide variety of experience, then I think I'll have my pick of what I want.
