Erika | 9482 comments Okay, take a break, I wish I still had some of her books to read :(

message 552: by Canndane (new)

Canndane | 31 comments So, I'm reading The Maze Runner (Maze Runner, #1) by James Dashner , and I have a love-hate relationship with this book. Actually sometimes is like.. duh? but other times is like woooow! And that makes me feel so weird while reading it.
Anyway, I guess I have to keep reading, since I read half of the book in two days *^*

message 553: by Vega_girl (new)

Vega_girl | 6624 comments It took me a month to finish it so you are doing way better than I did. LOL!!!

I am in the same position ... I am afraid of reading Losing Hope and Finding Cinderella, because I don't know what will happen when there will be no more Colleen Hoover books ready to be read ...:(

OMG! I just finished the book last night and can't stop thinking about it....my mind is going crazy. In my review I said this would be a good book for a buddy read, because you will want to talk about it. It's a book that leaves you questioning things. I will so get in on your buddy read, I would actually appreciate having someone to talk to about it!!!!

That is a crime!!! :) I don't know with which one you should start. Ugly Love, maybe?

Chris | 7142 comments Mod
You can pick any one to start with they are all fabulous, but sometimes it's nice to start at her first Slammed (Slammed, #1) by Colleen Hoover .

Erika | 9482 comments Georgia wrote: "The fact that I still have not read one book by Colleen Hoover is kind of embarrassing.Which one should I start first?"

Okay, I am stunned!! But, it's never to late to start. Actually I'm a little jealous because you have something of hers to read.
So here is my suggestion. I would read her books in the semi-order that she wrote them. I feel like she had evolved as a writer, and it was nice taking that journey with her.
Having said that I would read
Slammed (Slammed, #1) by Colleen Hoover Point of Retreat (Slammed, #2) by Colleen Hoover This Girl (Slammed, #3) by Colleen Hoover series
Then
Hopeless (Hopeless, #1) by Colleen Hoover Losing Hope (Hopeless, #2) by Colleen Hoover Finding Cinderella (Hopeless, #2.5) by Colleen Hoover series
then
Maybe Someday by Colleen Hoover
then
Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover
I know it's a lot of books but so worth it.

message 572: by Georgia (new)

Georgia | 73 comments I actually own all her books. When I first got my phone I downloaded a tone of books and I just forgot about them.I most certainly will start one soon though!

Vega_girl | 6624 comments So instead of reading my kids talked me into warching Divergent (Divergent, #1) by Veronica Roth ....
1. I have decided that if I wait a year after having read the book I can enjoy the movie.
2. Enjoy...... not like or compare to the book...

3. Divergent (view spoiler)

message 576: by Georgia (new)

Georgia | 73 comments I feel like I am the youngest one here (17).Honestly I did not really enjoy Divergent.Maybe it is not my cup of tea.Although I enjoyed the movie very much.

message 577: by Vega_girl (new)

Totally agree.

Georgia we have a lot of younger members, they're just a little less active then some of us.

I did like the movie too. I just didn't like the series as a whole.

Erika is right we do have a lot of younger members! Really all ages, which is interesting to show how YA transcends so many age groups!

Wow, Susan it's your special day tomorrow!!! Nice try 52 is totally young in my book, so you can't over age yourself! :D

I never read Divergent (Divergent, #1) by Veronica Roth . I had it for so long on my TBR. Then after I saw the movie and liked it I decided not to read it.

message 584: by Susan (new)

Susan I've only read Divergent.......how many are after it??

message 585: by Vega_girl (last edited Nov 17, 2014 04:03PM) (new)

I completely agree, Finding Cinderella (Hopeless, #2.5) by Colleen Hoover was incredible. I actually liked it more than Losing Hope (Hopeless, #2) by Colleen Hoover

I finished The Maze Runner! So, I think the book is a bit disconcerting. I mean, sometimes it's amazing, is an attractive history, is addictive (Everytime I took the book, I read at least 1/4 of the book). But other times I thought that it was not that great, I didnt like the characters, their "language", they way they acted... To describe it with a word... i think it was sometimes a bit repetitive.

So now I have doubts about reading the second part or not. I think I will leave them for a while, I will read other books, and some day in the "near" future I will keep reading the series. I don't regret reading the book, but it is true that is not one of the best books I've read.

Thanks!
I think I'll pass on reading it, I have a lot of other books to read. If you find the series gets better let me know! :)

For me I think their wasn't enough of a love story and the characters were under developed, then there was too much description on scenery.... I just left them after the first book. I figure I'll just watch the movies...LOL!!

Great, now I don't have to feel bad about giving up on them (at least for now hahaha) and watch the movies first. I hate doing it too, but I prefer to read other books first! :)
