You are soo right! As far as I know, there are no plans for a second movie .. :( No plans YET, I hope. The film got mixed (negative) reviews but it was very well accepted in cinematographs. Sooo ... I want that movie!

I agree, Barbara! I think that change in the ending is why they aren't going to have a second book. :/ I think the movie had a lot of differences really. I think the film focused more on her and Adam's relationship then the book, but I thought that the changes worked well for a movie and I loved it.

LOVE, LOVE that gem of a novella. I'm not quite sure how Coleen Hover develops character, put humor and so much emotion into 100 pages!! That one is on my Favorites Shelf!

Vega_girl | 6624 comments Can some one explain the genres to me???? I feel like a dork because I definitely know contemporary but I am confused as to the difference between sci-fi and fantasy. Which one is for Magic or super powers? What about aliens or genetically altered humans?? Dystopia is just disfuntional futures right?? I feel like I should have these down....

http://www.writingclasses.com/WritersResources/AskTheWriterDetail.php?ID=335

As much as I understand from this article I believe that the content (future and the things mentioned in the book) of science fiction are scientifically possible in real life and could actually happen someday (flying cars, aliens, ...), while the content of fantasy books is completely made up and could never actually exist (such as fairies, talking animals, witches, etc.)

Dystopia is a society characterized by a focus on negative societies and is in some important way undesirable or frightening. It is literally translated as a "not-good place". Books under this genre deal with such societies and are usually set in the future when societies like these formed because of different environmental, religious, politic, technological and other issues. Authors of such novels often take problems we are facing now in the present and in their work present what may happen in a few decades or centuries if we keep going on like we do now, this way trying to remind people of what we are doing wrong whether in political or social practices.

message 747: by Vega_girl (new)

Vega_girl | 6624 comments What if. They are genetically altered animals that can mimic??

message 748: by Vega_girl (new)

Vega_girl | 6624 comments Haha, just kidding I think I get it. So what would you catagorize The Darkest minds as because the have powers but they were a result of an illness
