PattyMacDotComma | 3297 comments I'm going nuts with this one! I started off great with Burial Rites, which I loved, by an author new to me - Hannah Kent. And I'm about to write a review for Island Home, by Tim Winton (a favourite author) which I also loved.

I'm completely flummoxed by oldest book on TBR list since I don't really want to read ANY of them now (maybe ever?)- ARGH$#!

As for my favourite genre, short stories, Fever Dogs: Stories by Kim O'Neil was a poor choice, and that was after quitting a couple of other collections I briefly started. I did write a brief review of Fever Dogs:

Sue | 62 comments I have finished one now. I'm reading the longest ones first, so my rate may pick up, but I still might not finish by July 31st. That's OK, I'm enjoying the challenge anyway.

For L in OLDEST I finished:
The Husband's Secret by Liane Moriarty The Husband's Secret | Liane Moriarty (AA) | 2017-Jul-15
This book had been on my TBR list since 2013-Sep-24. It's the first Liane Moriarty book I've read; I want to read her others too. I really liked it - ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ !

PattyMacDotComma | 3297 comments One of my favourite authors is Aussie Tim Winton whose recent non-fiction Island Home is an important addition to Australian literature.
Island Home by Tim Winton
Non-fiction, part memoir, part reminiscences, part passion about how to save his beloved island - Australia - from the insidious effects of development and climate change.

Kylie (kyliemaree) | 878 comments I'm not sure I'll get my original choice of Task #2: An author new to you The Shifting Fog by Kate Morton completed by the end of the month. I'm about halfway there.... but now I'm back working I don't have quite as much time to sit down and read.

I'm going to wait and see how much I get read over the weekend and, possibly change my choice to one I just finished listening to from the library. Bittersweet by Colleen McCullough. She also happens to be a fellow AA too! :) So that could be my replacement. :)

Onto getting stuck into Déjà Dead by Kathy Reichs. :)

Icewineanne | 267 comments Finished Big Little Lies What a fantastic book. This was my second by Liane Moriarty. She's a terrific writer.....she draws you right in to the world of Kindergarten parents, with secret bullying (both children & adults), relationships, and that what goes on behind closed doors can lead to murder. I was riveted & i've never been a kindergarten mom. LM has rockected up to my must-read author list.
Highly recommended- 5+ Stars
