I agree Eldarwen, that book blew me away. I never considered it would be possible for me to cry in a Dresden book until then! HahaIt really does kick the series into a new gear
I finished Still Life by Louise Penny.2 - set in Three Pines
6 - Still Life
Do I need to post each time I finish a book or is adding it to my shelf fine?

You need to post each time you finish a book and tell us which cards it fit. It would be impossible for us to keep track of everyones shelves otherwise.
Karen ⊰✿ wrote: "I agree Eldarwen, that book blew me away. I never considered it would be possible for me to cry in a Dresden book until then! Haha"So true! I didn't even notice it until one dropped onto my hand haha. So very well written and since I listened to a lot of this on audio, I can honestly say that James Marsters is perfect for Harry's voice and personality.
Yes, I've read them all via audio. The one book he didn't narrate at the time just didn't work for me so as soon as it was released with Marsters as the narrator I re-read it :)
I agree, no one can do Dresden like Masters does. He is absolutely perfect for that role - and the rest of the cast in the books. Can't wait for the next book to be published, but I think we're in for a long wait yet.

I finished
last night and now I still have absolutely no clue which book I want to pick up next. So it's going to be breakfast first with an episode of Friends and then I'll see about that book :-)I thought the new BSBingo shelf call would help me decide but of course, every single series I'd like to continue is on that shelf and I want to read them all at once. For obvious reasons that would be a bit of a problem ;-)

Reverse- Eldarwen and Annika have read
This was a very easy read, but it felt like a summary of events to me. I never felt like I was in the action. Does the series get stronger?
Annika wrote: "It does, I didn't really like the first book much either, but the series got better after this one."I guess I'll give it another try.
I'm one of the few people who actually really liked the first book but I like my world building :-)But as Annika said, the series gets better with every book. You have to bear in mind that it's Urban Fantasy as it should be - i.e. there is a LOT of world building first, character introduction and the rest follows after. Because every single character needs to be well-known to the reader because they're all important in one way or another - and awesome, too, actually.

Maybe that would be an idea hehe. I think I'm decided though on going with Grave Visions. Read the first two pages and was grinning, so I think it might hold my attention.

I know we already said I wasn't going to read
Spice & Wolf for the challenge, but Annika's source Reading Length listed the length as over 79,000 words for Vol. 3.
Annalisa wrote: "I know we already said I wasn't going to read

Well, if Annika found a source with an actual word count for the book and it is that high, I think we can safely say that it passes the requirement test. Happy reading :-)
That is strange. On my computer it all shows up but on my phone it doesn't. I don't know that I'll be reading Spice & Wolf, but it's nice to have as an option. I'm currently reading Cruel Beauty (beauty & the beast), and I got a bunch of romance yesterday at the library. Hopefully they are better than my last one.

Cruel Beauty has been on my radar for a while as a potential read but I haven't gotten my hands on the book yet. Let us know what you think of it! :-)
Annalisa wrote: "I know we already said I wasn't going to read

It gives estimations from the page count. So we still need to verify your book with arbookfind - and unfortunately your book is not on the site :(
It isn't a graphic novel. It's a light novel. There are only 10-12 images per 300 page book. If it was a graphic novel, I never would have suggested it in the first place.
Just finished The Watchmaker of Filigree Street by Natasha Pulley. Brilliant book. I've given it ⚜️⚜️⚜️⚜️!Now on to Wilt by Tom Sharpe. I've heard good things about this author. Let's hope he lives up to expectations! See you soon!

Completion Post!Book: Murder of a Chocolate-Covered Cherry
Finished: 2/9/17
Hand 4, Card 6
How it fits: Author's last name is Swanson (begins with S)
Rating: 4 stars!!
Really cute book -- a contestant is murdered at a regional cooking contest & ends up in a chocolate fountain!
Lots of high-rated books coming in!! Nice :-DChris, I'm glad you enjoyed the Watchermaker. It's one of those books I keep seeing around and wondering whether I should give it a go or not.
Annalisa, I should probably finally read it. I love Beauty and the Beast, so this might definitely be something for me hehe.
Lauri, that poor chocolate fountain!! *gasp* Sounds like an interesting premise though hehe.
I'm listening my way through
while tidying up my flat - something I've been meaning to do for ages. Listening to Harry being tortured by his creator in these various short stories provides exactly the right motivation and laughter for just such a task. I already accomplished more yesterday than I thought I would (day off work, yay) and now I can take it a little easier today. Tomorrow I'll be a couch potato ;-)

It's a very good book with a few surprises in between. If I was to describe it to someone, I would say it has a hint of fantasy with a mix of modern and period drama. This was Ms Pulley's debut novel and I've already pre-ordered her next book, The Bedlam Stacks, which is due out in July.
Slightly weird but interesting mix, actually. It's awesome though to discover new authors you like so much that you instantly try to get your hands on their next book :-)

Such an intense book! And twisty! Very suspenseful, a little dark, a little heartbreaking and then very heartwarming (it is romantic suspense, after all). Hope the author can keep the it going with the next.
Romantic suspense is always a good way to go as well, as far as genres are concerned. A little dark probably worked well in the mix! Considering your rating :-)Was the first book as good, too?

Yes. It didn't make as much of an impression, but it is a really good series. It's a spy series. I Iove those kinds of suspense.

Now my usual book, but I love anything by Adriana Trigiani! This tells the behind-the-scenes story of the love affairs of Loretta Young, Clark Gable, Spencer Tracy & more in the golden age of Hollywood. Here's the hook -- it's told partially from the viewpoint of an almost-nun straight out of the convent who becomes Ms. Young's secretary. Very well done.

I'm glad you liked it! :) I listened to it a little while ago but just couldn't get into it. I agree with you on the narrator part, biographies are so much better when read by author! :)
:-DDDWe have a lovely quote on the first page of our team thread for those who are interested in having a look.
I'm going to go hunt for our Valentine now, and I hope for the Pixie that she picked a really awesome quote from the KD universe ;-)
And there are a lot more quotes and awsome pictures in the other team threads :DWhich one is your favourite quote / pic?
Pixie picked *the* quote for KD ;)
I like the Julia Quinn quote! I might have to finally pick up one of her books ;-)I completely forgot that quote from Storm Front!! Made me grin again hehe.
Mercy - lol!
Rose's snark has always been fun, too.
Best picture, I think the one for Ty&Zane quote, high-fiving the face!! :-)
And YES!! That is THE quote from Magic Bites :-D
