We are reading Pride & Prejudice this year! We also host several Teas each year... and are looking to expand our activities to other Regency inspired things too. For example, we are hosting an afternoon Tea and Card Party in April, a Boxhill Picnic in June, etc.

Participation is optional but it's extra points (!) so let's try to read as many books as we can for it. Also two and more people can read the same book from our valentine team.

I thought about reading this over Christmas, but all the copies were taken! Like everyone, I know the story very well. Actually every year I watch a Muppets Christmas Carol while we decorate our Christmas tree and I was surprised to see how much of the dialogue was taken straight from the book!

Hey Karen, thanks for stopping by! "A Christmas Carol" is the only Dickens I've read so far. Loved it and really would like to read more but been somewhat intimidated :) Never seen the Muppets adaptation, I really liked "Scrooged" with Bill Murray :)

I have Bleak House on my list to read this year for a challenge. It is over 1000 pages so I'm not sure when I will start it, but I have the audiobook also so that may be how I get through!!

Valentine: Part 1, task 1 (read this month by Daniela)
It's very short and a quick read if anyone is considering reading it. Meant for baseball enthusiasts, which I'm not, so that part sadly was somewhat lost on me, but there's enough of characterization and excellent storytelling that Stephen King is known for to make for an enjoyable story.
