I am pleased to hear that!
I'm stuck waiting for my library hold and the toppler. I don't want to start something serious only to have it set aside for more than a week. So I've been borrowing some guilty pleasure books from the library - Sweet Surrender, Sweet Persuasion, and Sweet Seduction. I can read these in a day. At least I'm catching up. That chunkster took a whole 3 weeks to finish and was a danger to my 2017 reading challenge.
Lol Janice, just by the titles those books sound so wrong. I'm imagining all kinds of cheesy covers and storylines. But I know how you feel, my last book also took me almost 3 weeks to finish..

They'd also fit the erotica task, except that the covers are quite "tasteful" for the genre. There are other editions that have snark-worthy covers.

I'm just frustrated. My book for a buddy read is 10 days in shipping from the library and the toppler starts on Saturday. Not one of the 249 books on my tbr interest me. I'd almost call it a reading slump.
I just finished the audiobook I was listening to - Hard Magic and I'm now in the same situation with audiobooks. I'm going to listen to a short story in the series, Murder on the Orient Elite, but it's only 1-1/2 hours long.
Don't worry, Janice. The toppler will pick you up. Maybe you just need a break from books for a day.

That does sound a bit like a reading slump. Hopefully you'll find the right book to get you out of it soon!
Cherie wrote: "Don't worry, Janice. The toppler will pick you up. Maybe you just need a break from books for a day."What would I do with myself if I don't have a book to read? ROFL!
I'm really stressed right now. I'm swamped at work and reading is my way of destressing. Diversion. Not getting that book from the library was putting a wrench in my reading plans. Silly me for allowing that to add to my stress.
Peggy wrote: "That does sound a bit like a reading slump. Hopefully you'll find the right book to get you out of it soon!..."Thanks Peggy. I have a slate of good books on my toppler plan and I'll settle down once I get started on them.
So, yesterday, I started Deadly Night on audiobook and The Teleportation Accident book book for my survey challenge and buddy read. I have seen Heather Graham's books in various places and had never read any. She writes in one of my favourite genres so I decided I should give her a try. I bought an audiobook last year in an Audible sale and it's finally risen to the top of my list.
Teleportation Accident is for my survey challenge and a buddy read. I don't know about it. I hope it gets better and quickly! After all that wait, I hope it isn't going to be a dud.
I plan to finish The Girl in the Garden today and then just waiting for the toppler to begin tomorrow. :)
I finished Charms for the Easy Life which I really enjoyed. I think my widget is off too, after marking this book as finished it now says I read it 3 times this year and has added it as many times too my reading challenge. I hope it fixes itself. I planned on reading The Song of the Stork next, but I'm going on a holiday tomorrow and it doesn't sound like holiday material at all. Also, the last few days have been a bit depressing so I need something cheerful.
I think I'll start a travel related book on the plane tomorrow, perhaps My Family and Other Animals or The Curious Charms of Arthur Pepper
I have found the new re-reading feature doing that to me too. I go in and delete the extra reads. For some reason it's adding the first one and then adding 1 or 2 more at the same time. You can just delete them from the Edit Review page.
Thanks Dawn. GR added a reread for me too which I noticed when I wrote my review, and I deleted it. But for some reason it now says that I started it 3 times on February 9, then there are the updates I did while reading, and then it says I finished it 3 times on February 17. I'll see if I can change that when I'm at my computer again.
Wow, that's more than anything I've had. Depending on the method I use to say I'm currently reading, I will get anywhere from 1-3 starts, all with the same date, and I've had a few double finishes. But never all on the same book. Hopefully you can delete them, it should be possible based on the ones I've done.
Edit your review and delete the extra reading dates. There's an 'x' to the far right. There were a lot of glitches with this latest update.
Most of the books that I've read lately have had at least two started dates, some have had three, as well as marked as completed either with an end date or without it. Also, the counting of last year's geo challenge is way off: when I look at the status of it on the group's homepage, it says I've completed 49 books for it, when in fact I've completed something like 160. I hope it corrects eventually. There's also something wrong with the count of this year's challenge: it shows the correct number of books read (12) on the group's front page, but when I click "view books", it only shows seven books. How weird is that! I know this has been discussed in the GR Feedback group and I think GR is working on correcting it.
It seems to be a difficult fix for the Goodreads programmers. There are problems with the 2017 reading challenge and with the group challenges. I have posted about our group's challenges giving links to a few examples. One of the moderators replied that they are working on it and would give updates to their progress.
I finished The Prince of Mist for the toppler and for my survey challenge. This is the fifth book by Carlos Ruiz Zafón that I have read and yet another that I really enjoyed. It's probably my least favourite of his books so far but I still gave it 4 stars. He is a great author.Next up for me is another toppler and survey challenge book, Dragon's Lair.
Hi my name is Amanda and I'm about 60 pages into Pachinko by Min Jin Lee. I'm really enjoying it so far!

All people are busy with the monthly Toppler this week.
We also have awesome challenges.
I always forget about this thread when Toppler comes around, mainly because I'm reporting in my toppler thread.Books on the go but on hold till after the toppler:
Deadly Night
The Teleportation Accident
Books read for toppler:
The Zookeeper's Wife: A War Story
Moon Bayou
Books currently reading for toppler:
Hide and Seek
The Girl Who Drank the Moon

LOL, me too
I also forget about this thread when the toppler is on. Wizard and Glass is on hold for the toppler. Just finished The Andromeda Strain which knocks off a dead tree book from my shelf! And I am reading Replica and listening to I, Robot and I can also use both for my yearly challenge which is a result!
I finished The Travelling Bag: And Other Ghostly Stories for the toppler. I'm also 3/4 of the way through Dragon's Lair which is a toppler and survey challenge book.
I'm not sure when was the last time I reported here, but I recently I finished A Man Called Ove and gave it 4 stars. I am 75% into What's Eating Gilbert Grape. I'm also half way through listening 20000 Leagues Under the Sea, and enjoying it.
This thread is easy to forget during the toppler. I am reading The Girl in the Garden, but put it on hold at 89% for the toppler. I am reading What's Eating Gilbert Grape and The Adventures Of Pinocchio for the toppler and my yearly challenge. I am also reading Scrappy Little Nobody in little bits to fill in time during the toppler when I finish a book, but I'm nt quite ready to start the next one. I'm not sure if it will be done during the toppler, but maybe.
I finished Hide and Seek last night. Not much scares me, but that one did.I started Whiskey Sour for the toppler.

I need to get this book. I loved her The Lost Wife.
Dem and Janice - I read her book, The Mask Carver's Son and liked it for the most part, especially the first half of the book. I have both books mentioned on my TBR and am looking forward to giving her a try again.
Just finished A Mother's Reckoning: Living in the Aftermath of Tragedy
This is my review: www.goodreads.com/review/show/1918373440
I started Girl with a Pearl Earring. It's strange to read all the Dutch names (people, streets, cities) but have those people talk to each other in English. I'm really enjoying it so far :)
Finished Whiskey Sour, The Wretched of Muirwood and working on Every Heart a Doorway. All toppler related.
I put The Final Empire to one side during the toppler but I have picked it up again now that the toppler has finished. I have just passed the 40% mark and I think it's fantastic! I can certainly understand the hype surrounding Brandon Sanderson!I have also started The Ashes of London which is for my survey challenge. I think this could be a good one too, if the first few chapters are anything to go by!
