Just finished Ten Big Ones, by Janet Evanovich. I love Stephanie Plum, Bounty Hunter. And I love how The author always makes me laugh while I’m reading her books. This one was no different. Really fun stuff, even amid the gunfire and mayhem.

Do they call it "Indian Country" in the novels? That's surprising.

Finished Checkmate, by J.S. Le Fanu (1871). Whoa! Another book where I didn't breathe through the last few chapters. Part sensation fiction & part murder mystery, and I loved it.
I just finished Artemis. I'm a bit disappointed but I still love Andy Weir's writing. Here is my review.
Nancy wrote: "Finished Checkmate, by J.S. Le Fanu (1871). Whoa! Another book where I didn't breathe through the last few chapters. Part sensation fiction & part murder mystery, and I loved it."Just downloaded a copy.

Sex on the Moon: The Amazing Story Behind the Most Audacious Heist in History by Ben MezrichIn this 'creative non-fiction' book, the author tells the true(ish)story of Thad Roberts, an intern at NASA who decided it was a good idea to steal a bunch of moon rocks to impress his girlfriend. In any case it's an interesting story that held my attention. (I'm constantly amazed about what people get up to.)
3 stars

Finished Vertigo last week and finally got a chance to review. I really thought this was a great psychological thriller.https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I just finished The Secrets She Knows by Michael Robotham. I will be starting 16th Seduction by James Patterson.
Have finished in the midnight sun by Cecilia Ekback and wow the characters are so full of life they almost become real and the way it’s written poetically haunting. It’s vivid harsh and ohh so magical in its description of nature vs science vs religion this is a great book.
I have the new Stuart MacBride, Now We Are Dead to hold me over the holiday weekend, along with the new Elly Griffiths, The Chalk Pit and A Savage Hunger by Claire McGowan. Lots of reading to be thankful for, coming right up!
I am now reading a non fiction book called the rise and fall of the house Medici by Christopher Hibbert a fascinating beginning as it flows like a novel really intriguing.

I'll be listening to that one as soon as he has posted the final episode.

The Last Alibi
by David EllisCriminal defense lawyer Jason Kolarich has become addicted to oxycodone, and isn't thinking as clearly as he should. Bad decisions and bad luck lead to him being accused of first degree murder. Good mystery/legal thriller. 3.5 stars
My complete review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Currently reading (listening, actually, and just started today) The Naturalist by Andrew Mayne. It's a genuine page turner with a fresh -- sort of -- protagonist. He's a computational biologist, which is a career path seldom included in most thrillers. Some reviewers have complained about stereotypical characters but maybe they're reading a different book. I'm not seeing it, at least so far. The science is explained well and is integral to the plot. I can't wait to get back to this book.

I finished Phasma by Delilah S. Dawson and just started Just One Damned Thing After Another by Jodi Taylor
It took a while--I took a break for 3 Anne Hillerman mysteries--but I've finished
Asta's Book . An old-style literary "mystery." 3.5 *My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Cold Blood
by Robert BryndzaIn this 5th book in the series, DCI Erika Foster is after a serial killer who likes to beat each victim to a pulp, cut them up, and stuff them into a suitcase. This investigation turns out to be very hard on Erika.
Once again, the story has an abusive man who hits and intimates a woman (This seems to be trend lately, one I'm not fond of.)
Cold Blood is a good mystery/thriller. 3.5 stars

A widower who's lost custody of his two daughters robs a gangster, breaks the girls out of a foster home, and goes on the run. The little family is chased by a mobster and by the girls' court-appointed guardian. Dark but heart-warming story. 4 stars
