I read 151 pages in Ulysses...but I won't finish this one during the Read-a-thon. I am waiting until tomorrow to start new books for my Reading With Style challenge...and have some short ones so should be able to finish two or three by the end of the Read-a-thon.
Ira - Does that fit under any of the starred categories? How many pages did you read for that? I'll update the totals.Ed, I'll update with your pages.
I am currently reading a red book,
; and a blue book
, and will finish them both this week. Let me know if they work for majority of colors! Also, I am heading over to guess covers right now. :)
As long as you participate, you get credit. No one has said they're reading red or blue so that is perfect. J said he was reading apurple book.
I finished The Walking Dead, Vol. 01: Days Gone Bye. I counted this as 1 of 2 graphic novels. If someone reads another graphic novel or manga we'll get a guess. I counted the 141 pages for this toward our pages read goal and I get one guess for reading it all in one sitting. Remember, you guys will have to use my guesses for me since I know the answers. If anyone wants to use them, let me know and make a guess.I also read for 2 hours straight today and another 14 pages of The Lies of Locke Lamora. I've added that to our group totals. By my count, we're up to 7 books completed as a group. If we finish 3 more, that's another guess. We also only need one more person to add a book to the ATY Group Reading map to get our guess for that.
Don't slaughter me, guys, but I've apparently been robbing you of guesses due to a lack of understanding on my part. I feel like I say this every read-a-thon but here we go again...Behind the scenes we cook these things up and iron them out till they make sense to us. They sometimes get lost in translation when we're trying to explain them to you guys. In this case, we mods interpreted the rules a bit differently. Katie and Zaz have been giving their respective teams guesses for reading 2 hours straight whereas I have not because I interpreted the rule to mean we only get the guess if we complete the whole task. We're all on the same page now, though, and that means I owe you some guesses.
Jennifer, Melanie, and myself are owed an additional guess for reading 2 hours straight.
Sorry for the confusion. I'll get clarification for the rest of these so we're all on the same page. ;)
If nobody has grabbed the Green cover challenge, I will do that one now.Reading
Stealing Jenny by Ellen Gable. That cover is green enough isn't it?
C5 is a hit! Nice! And yet that ship stays floating ... hmm ...Anyone want to use one of my guesses?
I'd say yes, but I'll check with the other mods in the interest of fairness, Melanie.
I have completed All the Light We Cannot See. That gives me another 191 pages. It is part of my ATY challenge. And it had an overall rating of 4.31.

I listened to it on audiobook. It was around 16 hours worth
of reading, About half of the book. It says in goodreads that the book is 656 pages, so I would say I listened to about 300 pages. It can count toward a book started before the readathon. It can also count toward a book for the ATY Challenge. That's it for the starred tasks. I've also read 200 pages of The Name of the Wind
Yay so many hits, good job guys! I'm going to insert my page count for today since it's night here in Sweden. I've read 103 pages today and listened to 25 minutes of an audiobook. I'm currently reading There once were stars which is a dystopia, and I'm hoping to finish it tomorrow. Listening to The bell jar on audio and hoping to finish that before the readathon ends. Then I'll try to read one more book aswell as some graphic novels. I think our progress is great so far, good job team!
Come on team! We only need one of you to add your finished book to the group reading map and then we fulfilled that section and can make another guess. I know one of you really wants to fill that last spot!
I'm at work for a couple more hours and I'll update with hits/misses and guesses then. Keep up the reading guys, you're doing spectacularly!
I'm reading a book with a really long title (Miss Peregine's home for Peculiar Children. This should count for the title part of the battleship, because it's a 6 word title.
I just finished Death at Victoria Dock by Kerry Greenwood. This one can count for the Read a Book Published More than 10 Years Ago as it was published in 1994 and if it can overlap it can also count towards one of the 2 Books by a Female Author spot.
Ive just finished Stealing Jenny by Ellen Gable. It is a green covered book. My page count was 104 for this one as I had already started it before the read-a-thon.
Melanie - Since we're already at our maximum for book started before the read-a-thon, we don't need to count it for that. If you select another category for it, a non-starred one, you'll get a guess. I'll add your page count and your green cover to the other tasks.Sarah, no overlapping for those two but any additional pages you read since your last update would count. You also get one guess for Book Published More Than 10 Years Ago.
Christina - That's great! Did you ever sign-up for the team challenge? If not, head over here to do that so Zaz can assign you a team. We'd love to have you on Team Turtle and hopefully we will but Zaz is keeping track of the teams and making sure they're balanced.
Jennifer - Can you list the titles of the books, just for official purposes? You'll get a guess each for those but that puts you at the limit for picture books for the game. :D You get a guess for All the Light We Cannot See (for the rating task). That's also a blue cover. ;D I updated pages and you put us very close to getting our guess for ATY Books!
Ira - You get one guess for being the group member to finish out the group reading map task. You also get a guess for being the member to finish our graphic novel task with Saga. We can include the page count for that. I gave you credit for the audiobook hours (the maximum allowed) instead of the page count for Long Walk to Freedom as it can only count toward one or the other. Your audiobooking puts us super close to our goal. I also gave you credit for Book for the ATY Challenge and I gave you the 200 pages for The Name of the Wind.
Mimmi - I got your page count and audio minutes updated.
With guesses used and guesses recently earned, these are the guesses available:Emm has 3 Guesses (to be used by the group)
Jennifer has 4 Guesses
Ira has 3 Guesses
Sarah has 1 Guess
Melanie will have a guess as soon as she assigns her book to a non-starred task. :D
Wrap up for today: 2.5 hours of listening to The Canterbury Tales, 80 pages of the The Paul Street Boys.Total for week: 3 hours audio, 130 pages read
Still have not finished a book :(
What do you think about The Canterbury Tales Marta? I read that when I was about 13 and loved it.Emm, the titles of the books are Ish,Just One More and Amelia Bedelia Hits the Trail
I finished The Walking Dead, Vol. 02: Miles Behind Us which counts as a book with a winter cover for one guess. I read 136 pages.I listened to 5+ hours of Seraphina. That finishes up the audiobook task for us for another guess.
