Way back when I joined GR, I thought tbr was kind of a wishlist so everything I wanted to read in the future got shelved there and when I bought the book, it stayed shelved that way.

It wasn't until years later, I think in some GR Feedback group discussion, that I realized people apparently used tbr differently than I, like that was where they only posted their owned but unread books.

So for the last year or so, I added an 'owned but not read' shelf so that helps a bit. I also have a holiday project continuing from last year's holiday to continue to purge the m/f tbr books that I'm unlikely to read. With around 1600 books on my tbr, it's a daunting task, lol.

I have an 'owned but not read' shelf too with 200+ books. I put everything else in my TBR which is almost at 500 books. For my MF books, I have a completely different account.

I just started an owned but not read shelf on Lisa's recommendation but it is not complete yet. I have too many to go through. LOL!!

Actually... I have three. lol :-P

The other one is my personal account which I use for everything but romance.

The MF account I don't use often since I read MM 90% of the time, but I don't like to mix my romances. It's more like an accountability account.

This one is my main account. The one I check every day (many times). It's the one I use to interact and talk books. I try to take one day, close to the end of the year, to organize my shelves. It takes a long time, but it's worth it when I'm looking for something specific.

I did the same, Lisa. I have a purchased-but-not-read shelf and a need-to-buy-shelf. And I made a wish list on GR this year as well for those books I really want to buy / get in the near future.

For me, it makes sorting and searching for books easier and I can keep track of the books I already own because I put lots of books on my tbr-shelf without buying them immediately just to not lose sight of them. I also put almost all physical books I own on my GR shelves.

Aline, I live in Indonesia and I can use the 50% rebate. Some big publishers, don't take part but the rest do.

No, it isn't. I'm in Germany and can use it just fine. You have to pay the full price but you get eBook Bucks (that's their in-store currency) which will be delivered to your account for later use.

Well my person has yet to post here at all. No intro, nothing. I sent a few books from Amazon and then a few from ARe and no response. The Amazon ones haven't been accepted and there's been no response of any kind. So frustrating!!
On the flip side...nothing from my SS either. Other wonderful elves have filled in, but still.

She has an active GR account though. I'm hoping maybe she is just out of town or having internet issues (not that I wish that on anyone). I just can't figure out why someone would sign up for a gift exchange and then not actually participate.
