I don't really know?!
On the Deals & Steals thread in the MM Romance Group, someone said they read so..."
If they don't do a 50% rebate tomorrow I'm waiting until Monday because they'll do it on Cyber Monday so I'll wait. I've been following their rebate sales for at least 3 years now and they're pretty consistent with them. They don't really advertise or promote them other than e-mails to anyone who has an account that I find in my inbox when I get up that day.

Okay. Then I will do the same in the hopes they don't decide to vary from their consistency this year ;)

Lol, I have that thought every time and so far I've happily been wrong. So let's just cross our fingers that my streak continues.

~fingers crossed~ :)

:)

I haven't seen as much from here as I usually do but I do remember that she said she wasn't doing the Secret Santa exchange but I did notice her name on the list so hopefully she changed her mind and has joined us. I'm not sure how she's doing though :/

Nnnnoooo....must be strong and wait for Cyber Monday!!!!

lol!! Pretty much my exact reaction. I was so looking forward to gifting today.

I know me too, but I want the 50% rebate because I can give so much more. I just keep telling myself it'll be worth the wait and if ARe fails me (which the haven't so far) than sucks to be me because my list is cast in stone and will happen on Monday no matter what.

I haven't loaded my cart, but I have picked out all the books I'm going to buy come Monday. Like you, they are getting bought regardless of what happens with the sale. *I really, really want that 50% off ARe!!!*
Of course, just because I buy them all on Monday doesn't mean that my person is going to get them all on then. I like dragging it out and giving a bit at a time. More fun that way. ;-)

I know I feel like I'm torturing my giftee but I'm really just trying to spoil them as much as possible. But not all at once.
I get paranoid about the 50% off rebate every time but so far they've never failed me so I'm going to hang in there and have faith...cause George Michael says so...

I'm sure they'll enjoy their goodies.

You should have gotten your match at the same time as everyone else. You need Heather she magic and will fix all just send her an e-mail and let her know.

We have a few latecomers and Heather was waiting a few days to before she matched them. Look here:
https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

I emailed her when I noticed she wasn't participating and her health has been challenging this year (she's ok now) and she wanted to spend her energy on something special for her parents.

Maybe she's on vacation and hasn't had access to a computer. Hopefully she'll be back soon and won't she be in for an awesome treat.

Is anyone else having problems with their site?"
Josy, what have told you about breaking your toys...tsk, tsk, I'm sure they'll have it fixed by Monday...*taps foot as she mutters "It damned well better be fixed by Monday" (psst, actually it's working find for me, so hopefully it was just a minor glitch and all is well now).

I've a similar problem. My person either doesn't have an ARe account or the email-address is wrong. I alreday contacted them twice via elfster but I don't get any reply. I've a few books lined up for them I'd like to gift... I guess I'll email again tonight and if they don't answer again I'll ask Heather what I should do...

Why doesn't everyone have an owned-but-not-read shelf here on GR? Or some form of it. Do you know how much easier this gifting thing would be?!?! ;-)

Yes it would be

For me it's because any books that I own but haven't read are on my 'to read' & my 'mm-tbr' shelves. If the shelf doesn't have the word 'wish' in it I own it or it's on a spechul shelf to remind me that I never want to own it. I actually tried to rename my 'to read' shelf once so that it would indicate that I owned the books on that shelf but GR doesn't let you re-name your 'read' 'to-read' & 'currently reading' shelves and having a shelf which just duplicate those two seemed like to much clutter for me, sorry :/

Wow!! That's a whole lot of books you own. I thought I had a large amount of unread books on my kindle, but you beat me hands down. lol!!
I can understand not wanting to duplicate shelves and create clutter. Makes sense. :-)

I've been buying or receiving books in one form or another for well over 40 years. I think one of the happiest days of my husband's life was the day I announced that I might want to get an e-reader. It was either happiness or extreme relief...maybe, a bit of both.
Some of those books are paperback, some hardback, a considerable portion are e-books. I try to keep them sorted as to their format but I'm not obsessive about it so I know there are a lot on there that show as being a format that they're not but my main priority is to try and keep track of what ones I own and have or haven't read. Everyone needs a hobby and it's way more fun than stamps ;)

I have many bookshelves full of paperbacks and hardbacks that I haven't added to goodreads. The only time one of them gets added is after I read it. These days I am reading almost no physical books because my Kindle is just so much easier to carry. I keep saying that I am going to read or get rid of the books on my shelves because they take up so much space, but so far I haven't been able to make myself do it.

They answered :) Hopefully I can start gifting soon :)
Well, I made an 2016-elfster-wishlist shelf, because my to-read shelf has over 5000 books on it... the 420 books I own and haven't read yet are marked lurking-on-my-kindle... I still wonder if I'll ever read them... LOL

I made mine last year after the gift exchange was over for this very reason. It took me a whole entire Saturday to do it and I'm sure everyone in my feed hated me but it was worth it. :)

This is my hobby too! :D
LOL, I also needed my owned not read shelves to keep me for double buying things in multiple formats. There's a few I have 2 or sometimes 3 copies of. When I joined GR I just sat down in front of one of my bookshelves and listed everything on it and called it good. I still buy hard copies as much as e-copies though and I'm running out of room. I clean out my shelves occasionally and give them away to make room but most of what I have now are all things I can't bear to part with.
The main feature in my dream house is a library with built in bookcases. Boy, would I have fun trying to fill them up!

I only by DTBs that I want to keep forever!!! otherwise it's e-books because 'lack of space' it's a thing. I also have a very, very select number of hardcopy books that I buy. Terry Brooks Shannara series (thankfully he's finally wrapping it up) anything by Greg Iles and after his book that's being released in 2017, he and I may be going our separate ways. He's kept me waiting over 6 years for this book and I'm feeling a little pissy about it and Sharon Shinn, her books aren't released that often (1 every 1-2 years) otherwise it has to be a book that I consider to be oober amazing to pry hardcopy prices out of my cold, cheap hands.
I'm pretty sure I'm never going to see my ideal room because it needs to be big enough to house my books & a comfy reading chair or two and side table, have an office space for my computer and room for me to set up my sewing machine and the one that I want to get so that I can really get into quilting...yep, bigga', bigga', bigga' room!

If my kids would just take the hint *You need to move out, you're over 18 now*, I would have 2 whole bedrooms I could put bookshelves in. I can't get them to let go of the door frame when I try to shove them out. So annoying!

Lol! Sounds like you have the same problem I do Lisa.

For me my TBR shelf is filled with books that I haven't purchased yet, I have all of my purchased books on my "On-Deck-To-Read" shelves.

Yeah, as much as they tell me how I get on their nerves, I must not be trying hard enough because they're still here! ;)
LMAO, I told both of mine (18 & 20 yr old boys) that once they hit 18, they were out the door so get ready. But it's not as easy to kick your kids out as you think it is, or as I thought it was anyway!
But both of mine wanted to work for a while to save up for school so really, I'm ok with that. But they do have 3 years, and then it's either school or be a grown up and move out!

But they come back!! We kicked ours out (not really!) when he was 21 but he came back at 27 to "save money" while he got a qualification and could only work part-time. Of course he had no money so Bank Ma&Pa had to pay for said qualification!! But now he is back out flatting and has a job he enjoys - so win-win!!

I don't really know?!
On the Deals & Steals thread in the MM Romance Group, someone said they read somewhere that "ARe will be having a 25% off sale on Black Friday" and someone else said that they "had a 50% rebate on Cyber Monday last year".
So do you wait for Monday? And what if they don't have another sale on Monday? Life is full of hard choices o_o
