Review:
The story of Ronan, bear shifter, and Elizabeth, former delinquent and currently shop owner.
A very well suited couple, both providing what the other needs and making each other's lives better.
I'm enjoying this world and I'm looking forward to seeing shifters hopefully being more fairly treated in future books.
The series continues with Wild Cat and the first couple where the man is a human and the woman is a shifter.

My Review:
I loved this second instalment just as much as the first, I love the pack dynamics and how there is development on both characters and plot movement outwith the overall story arc contained within each book. I am hooked on the series!

Lots of revelations in this one about Harry's past. I kinda wish him and Murphy would hook up. I love Murph, she's pretty kick ass! There were some OMG moments in this one for sure. Harry's case in this one was rather interesting too lol. Can't wait to see what the next one brings :)

So, the idea of a Grim Reaper type character is not necessarily a new one but one that hasn't been done to death (pun intended) so I was happy to purchase this on one of my book buying sprees when it first came out close to 4 years ago. It had such an interesting concept and the author had really great ideas but her execution was all over the place.
For one, this book almost read like a YA novel. No super sexy naked parts and the MC tends to act a bit juvenile at times. If it wasn't for some F-bombs thrown into the mix towards the end of the book I'd still swear it was for kids. For two, the author makes the readers suspend their disbelief beyond what is comfortable. When a character is in her early thirties and all of a sudden manifests one super power after another without the help of cosmic rays or a radioactive spider I got to wonder "what the heck?" Not only does she suddenly develop them but is able to use said power effectively when she needs it the most even though she can't control any of them. For three, Maddy is a virgin. In her thirties. For no apparent reason as it was not used in the plot thread except for one of the demons being able to smell it. That's right folks a demon could smell her virginity. I'm still not sure how that works. For four, her wings come out of her back but there is no mention of how they don't effect the clothing. Ever. Does she cut two vertical lines in all of her shirts and coats for the purpose of her wings to unfurl? Is it magic? We don't know. For five, the complexity of her lineage got so jumbled her ancestry tree looks a little bit like a plate full of spaghetti. For six, the romance between Maddy and Gabriel is not only underdeveloped but almost nonexistent.
The book did have highlights though. Beezle, the gargoyle, was a nice addition. Maddy's boss was interesting as was her reaper job (too bad we didn't see more of it.) There were also some good fighting scenes and some humorous scenes too. However, there weren't enough of them for me to give this book more than 3 stars. I'll probably go on to read the second book in the series but I'll probably not purchase it but borrow it instead.

Well done!

A great addition to the series, with a lot of character development, an interesting chase to catch the cold murderer from Eve's past and quite a few fun moments.
Peabody's parents make an appearance, Peabody handles her first solo case, Eve faces her past and her first year wedding anniversary is as eventful as her wedding was.
Looking forward to her next adventure in Purity in Death.

According to the Stats spreadsheet, team 3 already has a three in a row and teams 1, 4, 7, 8 and 10 will have one as soon as they get all their stamps (for team 4 it will be a double one, too).
Our latest list can be found here. We've got at least two more weeks to play so for now enjoy your books!

This one was quite different than the previous installments, still I loved it! Owen is my new favorite, Mr. Hearne couldn't of come up with a better side kick! What an awesome addition to the cast! And don't get me started on yetis that love hockey lolol! The narrator was pretty good too, he nailed Owen's parts. Now I'm sad we'll have to wait an entire year for the next one :(

Another great book in this series. It's amazing that Diana Gabaldon can keep a story line going without losing quality, interest, novelty, or suspense. I highly recommend this series!

OK I'm officially impressed. I'm struggling to read my book this week and you've read a 9000 page book! OK I know that is a slight exaggeration but it's still so impressive!
Ladies, I'm still plugging away with my book. Sorry I'm not finished yet.

My Review:
I love this series and Steele's book is one I have been looking forward to. This book had everything I have came to expect from Maya's KGI series - strong alpha males with a strong sense of hour and family and a likeable, capable female they worship. Maya really knows how to make a strong silent type open up, I love the speeches the men in this series make.

The Collector by Nora Roberts
Finished: 6/24/14
Rating: ♥♥♥♥
The Collector is a bit different from other Nora Roberts books. The story line leaves you guessing. You think the main characters are certain people but then things happen and new people enter the picture and take you into an adventure that crosses many places and involves many people. I highly recommend this book if your looking to get involved with characters that you will be rooting for, and some you will want to physically harm.

Another case for Eve, this time dealing with a terrorist group that's developed a computer virus that kills the user.
Not as gruesome as some of her previous cases and with a lot more politics that Eve hates. The team is becoming more solid as time passes and Eve now has a little family of her own, mismatched as it may be.
I'm looking forward to her next case in Portrait in Death.
