Baetool and Scout part 2
"You can let her play with Amelia but honey, don't run around, she's hurt okay?" Rebecca directed the last part to Amelia. She then turned back to Maggie. "Do you have any footage? That we can take to the police as proof?" She asked.
Amelia nodded and carefully petted the dog."We have lobby footage of us taking him in. Also, there might be street footage." She said
"Maggie, can you?" Rebecca asked quickly. "Katy'll be home soon and Ben about an hour or so after that," she pleaded.
"Yeah of course." She said. "I'm off today." She picked up Amelia. "If they need to speak with me, give them my work number." She said. "Thank you so much." Natalia said
"No, sweetie, you gotta stay here and help Katy when she comes home and you have to take care of Sally so she and Maggie don't get lonely, okay?" Rebecca said.
Rebecca said hi and then told them what'd happened and asked to talk to the detective that was investigating the murder.
"Hi. I'm detective Morgan. I've been assigned to the case." He held out his hand. Natalia shook it. "Is he okay? Elian?"
"He's being held but yes he's okay." He said
"Yes, Margret, says there should be street footage and if that isn't enough, she has some footage in her shop, as well."
He nodded, writing everything down. "I'll have someone contact the vet clinic then the businesses around it." He said. "SInce you're here, I would like to ask about Elian' disability of remembering this whole thing."
Rebecca looked to Natalia cause she didn't know whether he remembered or not. "He's usually able to remember everything as long as he's on his meds...." she said, trailing off.
"He's schizophrenic, a mild case and like I said, he's usually stable when he's on his meds," she explained.
He nodded. "if it were the case where he was actually guilty, he could claim mentally ill to get a less harsher punishment." he noted. "Has he received professional help at all?"
"Yes, he has. He was in Radley, the mental institution for a year or two, a few years ago," Rebecca said. "And still goes to therapy. Twice a week... though, I think he stopped going for the last month or so."
"I've been trying to get him to go again." Natalia said. The detective nodded, writing everything down in his notebook.
Elian looked a lot more disheveled than the way he had been when they took him. "Nat," he said, perking up as he went over and hugged her tightly.
Elian nodded and looked himself over, "I think I'm okay." He said to her before hugging her again. "I missed you," he said.
She kissed him back. "I was going to bail you out if he wouldn't let you out himself.' She touched his cheek.
She nodded and took his hand, turning toward his aunt. "There's an explanation for the blood on you that night."

"Doggy!" Amelia squealed.
