Shari Lee, this was a bit of a hard choice for me, but I'm going to go with

Also, I happen to have both of the books I picked for you, but have not read them yet. Give me a holler if you'd like to Buddy Read them for extra motivation to get them done!

Andria - I'm not familiar with any of these books, but I do like Modern (Post WWII) Japanese Lit, so my choices are:

I pick these for you:

The Great Gatsby is just a classic that everyone should read at least once! And then the other book seemed lighter, so that should balance out. Hope you enjoy them!
For Trea I pick:

How could I resist Summer Wine when it's hot and humid as blazes out? And the other pick just looked intriguing. Enjoy!

Thanks, Kay! I also love Japanese lit. I haven't read much from this early 1900s period, really looking forward to it.
And I couldn't resist a book with a title like Asteroid Made of Dragons ;) Should be fun!

I haven't read any of your books, but I've read other books by two of the authors, so I'll choose those authors for you:

Hi Elizabeth,

I choose

I read the first one and it is great. The second I have not read but it sounds fascinating!

Hi VampAmber,
I thought it was interesting that we both had On Writing by Stephen King on our bookshelves. I had to choose that one for you to read this month! I also chose Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen. Although I haven't read the book, I thought the movie was very interesting. I can only imagine that the book will be better! Happy reading!
Sincerely,
EnglishElle

Theo, I choose

Thanks, Nikk!

Water for Elephants was such an amazing book! I cried when I got to the last page simply because it was over!

Thanks for the picks. I've been dying to read On Writing (I already have it checked out from the library, and most likely would've read it soon if it hadn't been picked), especially because what little I've heard of his writing tips, I'm in love. I already do the one where you write something, then set it aside for a long time before going back and edit, though I never seem to make it the full year like he does. :( And as for Water For Elephants, I adored the movie. That was why I bought the book, all those years ago. And it's been setting on my bookshelf since, not being read. Poor baby.

For you, I pick

Alex, I had not heard of your choices. After reading about them, I added a few to my own reading list. I choose for you

Let me know how they are. Enjoy!

I hope they are good!"
Looks good!
THanks!

I read Water for Elephants for book club. I had no interest in it and was going to skip it. Well I sucked it up and read it, and I LOVED IT!!! I cried like a little baby through the book and I am so happy I read it. That is what a book club is for; to expand your reading. If you love it, check out her latest At the Water's Edge. Also great.

For you, I pick

Hi VampAmber,
Thanks for the picks. I have had both on my dusty shelf for a long time and had already planned to read them in Aug!!

Thank you! And, the Dresden Files are good and fun. If you can, opt for the audiobooks as James Marsters (from Buffy the Vampire Slayer) reads them and does a marvelous job.
