We have Canadian offices as well. So one morning I'm on this distribution list which is quite large and the title is Timbits! and the body says Come get them now but bring a napkin as your fingers will get sticky.

1. I had no idea what Timbits were.
2. I have a dirty mind.

So I emailed the person who sent it and said I think you autocorrected to the wrong Scott but I have to ask what the hell are timbits and did you actually realize the double entendres?

My extension rings 30 seconds later and this guy Chris is hypoxic from laughing and explains they're donut holes, muchkins for DD lovers, and how the group of them are dying laughing at my email while sucking down some Tim Horton's coffee and timbits.

Though I have to add the gnats. Holy fuck, those are horrible. It's bad enough that when you step outside your brain begins to bake and you start to sweat profusely, but then you feel the little bastards crawling in your ears and if you take a breath you get a mouthful of protein.

Tim hortons used to be awesome, now their bread and donuts aren't very good.. BUT they're the only food available until 9 pm to buy at the hospital where I work.

As for the coffee I guess I can't judge it because I can't drink coffee. It gives me serious palpitations and I feel physically ill.

As for bugs- I think the worst we have up here are mosquitoes and those psycho servants of the dark lord Spruce Beetles

For bugs obviously I try to avoid all the ones that sting but they don't gross me out or frighten me. The only one and it's technically not a bug yet is maggots. Disgusting.

We don't have a lot of flying insects around here, thankfully, but definitely an abundance of robust cockroaches (the beetle looking kind). We're building a house right on the edge of red dirt land and I'm certain my house will be a hub for them. Eeewwww.

You have a lot of gnats up where you're at? It used to be limited to SW Georgia I think, but they've migrated. I was in Savannah last week and ugh. Gnats by the river.

Gnats aren't as gross as cockroaches, but they're plenty annoying when about 10,000 of them get in your face at the same time.

Wow you guys with your insect problems while here in jolly old England I only see flies and the occasional daddy long legs (I hate spiders so daddy long legs are pretty much tarantulas to me) in fact the only thing that's remotely harmful here is if one of the cats on my street decides to attack you 😂😂😂😂

My wife hates spiders. I'm not too worried though I'm not a fan of them crawling on me.

Now, if I see a praying mantis, I will likely lose my shit. Those things are creepy.

I grew up in Louisiana where there is pretty much any insect you can imagine, and very thick humidity. But I live in North Carolina now and I think it's pretty perfect here. There are still insects, but not nearly as many and it gets just cold enough in the winter to kill the insect population off. And I love that it gets cold but not too cold. It's humid in the summer but still manageable for me, nothing like humidity in Louisiana.

I have a poignant childhood memory of discovering that praying manti can fly. I went in for a closer look and it flew up ON MY FACE. I now give those suckers a wide berth lol.

I lived in NC for two years and the weather was perfect year round to me

My wife and I went to North Carolina last year for our anniversary. I thought it was perfect. (Late March)

We were in the Blue Ridge area in the western part of the state. Beautiful country.

I will defend Australia in that it's a great place to visit and it was actually fascinating seeing crocodiles. The size of them though, my goodness! Crazy. I've visited there 5x and came back alive after all.

But my goodness the size of the insects my sister in law posts on Facebook (and her son is obsessed with bugs) are unreal and my brother in law has seen snakes so many times. Once he was visiting a mining camp, in the middle of nowhere from Darwin and just outside the camp was a python eating a wallaby. Some of the guys said it was just their camp python that hung around there. The amount of time he's seen snakes is just unreal. New Zealand has one poisonous spider but it's extremely rare to see them. I've never seen one nor heard of anyone who has.

Hahaha I'm not hating on Australia don't worry since I do want to travel the world someday and apparently your less likely to die from a spider bite in Australia according to research and it seems an interesting place to visit but I really can't handle big spiders hahahahaha

Ahdam you'll love it I'm sure. There's so much to do. So many New Zealanders go there for holidays or move to live as the climate is a lot better there. My brother in law and nephew use to get asthma and hayfever in NZ and in Australia they doesn't get either. Pretty much as soon as they get off the plane in NZ they need hayfever tablets again and start to get asthma. Lots of people go there to retire as well.

Guys I think Australia has the worst bugs, we have like 100 types of deadly spiders, giant cockroaches, Beatles, the list goes on and they are all equally gross!

Anybody interested in book covers as art? I am hoping to start "decorating" my home office with frames of book covers, and I have found the Stormlight Archives artist's site (Michael Whelan), but his prints are like $90 (US) and, as much as I LOVE Sanderson, those first two covers are not what I am looking for. Some of the covers of the Malazan re-prints from Subterranean Press are awesome, but I have not had luck finding how to purchase those. Does anyone know of good artists and how to get prints in the $20 - $30 range?

I've had great luck in the digital downloads section of Etsy. I've printed out LOTR art and it cost me around $5, then you get it for life.

Another thing I've done is my Mom has so generously given me some prints of the Hildebrandt 1978 LOTR calendar, then I've gotten a mat and framed it.

Thanks. We have Cayden, Reese, Emerson, Avery and Blake. All girls with what were traditionally at one time boy's names.

That's awesome! I love themes to naming kids. And they're all spellable, which in my opinion is very important.

Over here I have Colt and Jolene, both country western related names.

Colt was because my husband and I were continually arguing Emile (my dad's middle name) vs Nolan (his pick). So we decided to go with something completely different. Then my friend Kevin from work came to see Colt when he needed phototherapy after I delivered him, and said "that's a great country name, I love it. Sounds like Colt Trevlyn takes the sheriff badge and cleans up the county"

Jo was supposed to be Emelia, but my friend had a baby before me and named her Amelia. Not that she is to blame, I had a strict no name sharing rule, and so did she by coincidence. We are so connected that we had the same name essentially lol

Those are pretty cool especially together. Joline reminds me of that country song. I can't remember if it's Dolly Parton or Reba McEntire. Colt's a name that's definitely had a rebirth the last ten years.

We changed names many times. About 5 years before we had kids we liked Madison for girls and Dakota for boys. Madison became way too popular and Dakota we sort of grew out of.

Yeah Jolene is by Dolly Parton. My very Eastern European pediatrician tells me every time we see her about how when she was little girl in Ukraine she heard the song Jolene and it was so beautiful. It's so cute, she gets sung to all the time. And Colt tells her "please don't take my man" lol
