I cannot wait to go home tonight though! Work was busy so I barely got anything read at all today :-(
Tonight is reading time though! Nothing else on the menu for a change - well except for some laundry, but it's not like I have to sit next to the machine and watch it all go round and round and round.

Ghost in the Stacks Eldarwen wrote: "Hahah, good question, Abbie!
But yes, it seems like everything needs to be YA or romance, and everything needs to come in trilogies at least. How about a good stand-alone novel for a change?"

I mean if I cam across a werewolf in the woods eating children, I think I would run, or kill it...not think about how hot he was, and how that blood on his mouth, and skin stuck in his teeth, enhances that beautiful blue eyes of his...oh, and of course his six pack! Cannot have a werewolf with a beer gut...

Sounds good, Karen! :-)

And lol, so true, Abbie! Couldn't have a werewolf with a beer gut! That would totally distract from the piece of bone which he's using to pick his teeth with ;-)

Gotta hate it when that happens. So inconsiderate of work to get in the way of reading!

Small counts, too! Every page read counts :-)

Jessica | 296 comments Completed Water for Elephants for B7

Going to start Red Rising for D8

message 1564: by K~Terror (new)

K~Terror (k-terror) | 5600 comments Yay Jessica! We'll get both our book points for that one. Woo-Hoo!

Im having the same kind of week ST - starting yesterday anyway. Grr... Everyone just needs to step back and let me listen to my audios while I work. And all technology should work as it is supposed to. Those two simple rules would make me a lot happier if they would only be followed.

*shakes head* Still can't believe that book is tagged as a classic.... ;-)

Eurgh, yes. Thank goodness it's almost the weekend!!

message 1566: by Karen ♐ (new)

Karen ♐ (kmk1214) | 1866 comments Why would that book be a classic? It was really good but I would never classify it a classic.

message 1567: by K~Terror (new)

K~Terror (k-terror) | 5600 comments Hehe! It's that Glorious 10-tag rule. :)

message 1568: by Eldarwen (new)

Eldarwen | 13735 comments Mod
It's been tagged by 199 people!!! As classic!!
And it's not even as though the author is dead or the book is a few years older...

Weird...

Then again, HP is tagged as a classic.

message 1569: by Snowtulip (last edited Jun 29, 2016 02:23PM) (new)

Snowtulip | 4679 comments Ok, home at last, but another early morning tomorrow :(

Finished The Broken Eye (Lightbringer, #3) by Brent Weeks (love this series and can't wait for the next one)

Going to start The Serpent King by Jeff Zentner (audio) fir YA and going to search my books for my next kindle read...not sure what mood I'm in ;)

message 1570: by Ghost in the Stacks (new)

Ghost in the Stacks A classic is a book accepted as being exemplary or noteworthy, for example through an imprimatur such as being listed in a list of great books, or through a reader's personal opinion.

(Definition)

message 1571: by Karen ♐ (new)

message 1572: by VNerdbooks (new)

VNerdbooks (v_nerdbooks) | 5104 comments That makes more sense, I just assume a classic is like Jane Eyre or something

message 1575: by K~Terror (new)

K~Terror (k-terror) | 5600 comments Finished Night Broken for paranormal and Bounty for romance today.

Just starting Dance Upon the Air for contemporary

After that, I'm going to take Jessica's suggestion and downloaded Salt to the Sea to read for historical.

Just checked the countdown and see we have 1 Day and 19 Hours... yowza

message 1576: by Karen ♐ (new)

Karen ♐ (kmk1214) | 1866 comments How did you like Bounty, K? Planning to read it in a BR in July. BTW, I really enjoyed Dance Upon The Air.

message 1577: by K~Terror (new)

K~Terror (k-terror) | 5600 comments I like Kristen Ashley books! Granted, I usually pace myself more... But it definitely delivered what I love about her books... the angst.. the warm fuzzies of good friends... good chemistry and some suspense! The audio was 21 hours so I thought it would take me a couple of days to read but her books always move so quickly you hardly notice the bulk.

I'm really enjoying Dance Upon the Air so far!

Tamika♥RBF MOOD♥ | 1422 comments How long do we have?

Enough for me to start another book?

message 1579: by K~Terror (new)

K~Terror (k-terror) | 5600 comments Yep - you are a speedy girl!

Well I guess that makes sense! Though I have a tendency to think more like V, in considering the older books classics - the ones you study in Literature courses and the like - I really should know better hehe.

I'm with you on KA!! I can't do too many of her in a row but I always want more after not too long away. And I totally agree about loving what she delivers... good friends, community, angst but also how she puts them together together before the end of the book. They may not always be 'happily' together or still working through issues but we get to experience them as a couple (usually) well before the last chapter. My favorite romances are the ones where we get to experience the MCs together for a large portion of the book. The ones where BIG MISUNDERSTANDINGs or just stupid pride keep them apart until almost the end usually just make me mad. Anyhoo... yeah, totally with you on KA!

OLYMPICS

The information and rules are being posted now.

Please, please, please, read the information carefully. If you are unsure, please read them again. Don't stress over the amount there will be. Just take your time to take it all in.

Once you're sure you've digested it all and you still have questions, feel free to ask V Audio Nerd, K-Terror and myself.

And then... then, my dear team mates, it is time to plan! :-)

message 1592: by Ghost in the Stacks (last edited Jun 30, 2016 08:47AM) (new)

Ghost in the Stacks Looks like we need to plan this at the moment:

Title Relay Heats:
Heat 1:
leg 1: Title Relay of THREE books
leg 2: Title Relay of FIVE books
leg 3: Title Relay of SEVEN books

Heat 2:
leg 1: Title Relay of THREE books
leg 2: Title Relay of FIVE books
leg 3: Title Relay of SEVEN books

Each of us need to read at least one book for this round.
How should we start planning?

message 1593: by VNerdbooks (new)

VNerdbooks (v_nerdbooks) | 5104 comments Funny you should say that..........

message 1594: by Ghost in the Stacks (new)

Ghost in the Stacks What that we need to plan?

Should we just free-ball it?

message 1595: by VNerdbooks (new)

VNerdbooks (v_nerdbooks) | 5104 comments We've been playing with a SS so we can all list down books that we are planning or could read so that we can try and link them together.

I think E will link it to the Olympic post on the first page but I can put it here as well.

If we can try and list even some books that we have, we can start to link them together.

Tamika♥RBF MOOD♥ | 1422 comments Okay. That seems insane but fun.

I'll list what's on my schedule because I've been slacking big time.

What Remains by Garrett Leigh & Smoke & Mirrors (THIRDS, #7) by Charlie Cochet

I'm open to anything else really.

Tamika♥RBF MOOD♥ | 1422 comments Reading Bloodline (Whyborne & Griffin, #5) by Jordan L. Hawk for H2, I'm about 39% in and about to start either. a fantasy or YA.

Tamika♥RBF MOOD♥ | 1422 comments D9 - HIT - Read a book shelved as young adult by at least 10 people, reading one of my favorite YA books Reasons I Fell for the Funny Fat Friend by Becca Ann

Event 1 needs to be planned - otherwise we are never going to end up with titles that work together.

Besides Heat 1 of the Title Relay needs to be completed before we can move on to anything else within the Olympics challenge.

Once Heat 1 (i.e. leg 1, leg 2 and leg 3) are completed, we can start working on everything else in Olympics. But this needs to be done first!

So I'd suggest using fairly small books (page counts don't matter for this part of the challenge) and getting the faster readers onto Heat 1. We need a minimum of 7 readers for Heat 1.

Heat 2 can be finished whenever over the course of this three week challenge.

Tamika♥RBF MOOD♥ | 1422 comments I agree E, we definitely need to plan ahead.
