No. They just have to be finished by the end of the two weeks this challenge will take or they will not count for Battleship tasks.

Okay I'll read a YA book. That way I will probably have it done by monday and I can get a new task. Also I take it we didn't sink any ships? Which probably means that E2 is also a hit.

Keep bringing that battleship wit!!
We will make a note of that :-) Because no, we haven't sunk any ships.

Please feel free to join me and Eldarwen for a buddy read of
if you haven't had a chance to read it yet :)A Court of Mist and Fury Buddy Read Thread
If you have read it, feel free to stop by and torture us with your advanced knowledge ;)
I can grab Fantasy. Witching Hour by Anne Rice, tagged 942 times. I can get the audio, since I got the time to listen while at work. it's like a 40 hour book

Good call, or it could be D1 the other way too I'm sure I remember reading that there will never be a T or L either so that's handy to know.
Ugh so Hit for fantasy could be a problem for me, I can definitely do the YA and maybe find a Sci fi for the other 2
Alexandria wrote: "I haven't even read the first one. I've heard they are really good though."They are Alexandria, the first one took me about 25% before I became hooked and then I couldn't stop!

The first one is really good, yes. Takes a bit to get into the book and to take a liking to the main character, but definitely good.
Then again, I'm biased. I love Maas' writing :-) I already really enjoyed the Throne of Glass series.

Karen ♐ wrote: "I'm going to start with a book for F4 - Dominated by Maya Banks. #69 on the list"That sounds good Karen, I've only read one book by Maya Banks...the first in her KGB series...those alpha males!
So I'll start listening to
on my commute tomorrow...unfortutely they are doing extensive construction on my route to work...so I'm usually sitting in my car for too long (down to one lane)...so I might finish the book ;)Ok, at least a few chapters!
The post I linked earlier (this one on the first page of the thread) shows the tasks, who can potentially read for which task.
I have bolded those names who have already stated that they're going to start with a book for a specific task just so we can make sure that every square has 2 books to cover the task.

Well I might not be the big chunky monkey readers like you, but I can take the YA and I'm debating a big old Sci Fi that Tamika recommended with 906 pgs, I'm still thinking about that one though lol
Do you read dark, twisted messed up things? It's hard to read. I just don't want you to read it and then start cursing me out because it's a complete mind fuck.
It looks like we will have all spots covered with at least the 2 book minimum except for the dead authors. It's a miss. Do we care?
Tamika♥RBF MOOD♥ wrote: "Okay, I read the sample to ST book. Nope not going to read that. Lol.Which book V?"
I know Tamika, it was free, so it sits waiting for someone else to love it ;)
K~Terror wrote: "Love the mind fucks!"Well y'all go ahead and read it.
Lol. I'll hold hands when you guys need it.
I loves a mind fook but I'm thinking can I actually read a 900 pager without having the audio as backup lol
I'm trying to think if I want sacrifice all my big books in the beginning. It's a 6 month challenge, and we need all the big ones we can get.
V Nerd wrote: "I loves a mind fook but I'm thinking can I actually read a 900 pager without having the audio as backup lol"They aren't on audio, and for good reason. I wouldn't want to here that stuff in my ears.
I think you would like Gated. Thought it was more sci fi dystopian but it's not. It was kind of an original story for me so was pleasantly surprised. Writing wasn't annoying and moved pretty quick.
Now my curiosity is really piqued on that book Tamika! Maybe I should start it tomorrow and give myself the full battleship time to read it in between audios..
Hmm Ezi told me about the Psy Changeling series, the 1st one is tagged Sci Fi and Fantasy so I might try that one........gahhhh Trying to think of books and watch that creepy sh*t American Horror Story, it's just getting weirder every week!!!!!
SooooMy 1st will be
400 pgs MPG - Young Adult
I think I can do pretty much all of them except F2 and E9
Haha! I liked the psy changing series until I burned out on them. I should probably try again and see if I just needed a break. I'll probably start with my 3rd in a series book then since all "hits" have 2 people starting there and my book is Fallout by Ellen Hopkins and is like 650 pages. I'm hoping to download it tonight when I have wifi so will be ready to rock n roll tomorrow.
Ahh yes Hopkins is always good for these challenges!!!! I forgot about those!!! *goes off to check*
Yeah I'll probably change it again lol

Yes it is, I downloaded it 2 days ago when I got the loan, But I am trying to finish up The Half Blood Prince, which I am hoping to finish tonight, so I can start fresh in the morning for Wobble.
We do have 7 days to complete right? I am guessing it should take 4 to 5 days for me.
8hours of work
1hour of lunch
1hour commute in morning
1.25-commute in eventing
....so at least 11 plus hours a day.
That is not counting my ironing in the morning, or my shower at night...(which I only do if my husband is not home, cause he makes fun of me for it), and sometimes I will listen while cooking...especially for challenges like this, with a time frame.
So a few questions...*Are we playing against one team or all teams? Meaning for Battleship, it could be any teams boats we are sinking.
*Can we bank books? If I read say, Sally Buys An Elephant, which doesn't work for a task now, can we save it for another task later on?
lol you sound like me Abbie, I get up an hour earlier than everyone else so I can listen to mine, then an hour to work, and then an hour on the way home.Bath time is at least an hour and a half as I keep topping the water up !!
We are playing against the Mods so even if we looked at everyone else's spreadsheets it wouldn't make a difference.I'm sure if you don't finish a book for battleships but do finish it in the next challenge then that would count, but you obviously wouldn't get points in this game..........BUT I need to double check that so don't take it as gospel.
